Ok, I am guilty of fantasying of waking up getting dressed in my hose, heels, makeup, and skirt then heading off to work. Getting there no one would really care and some times i would even get complemented on what i was wearing.

In reality I could do this at: GLTB bar, theater, Dance (only tights)
companies with iron clad GLTB polices, and on radio.

My Dream jobs: Office/ IT, Hooters, fight attendant, casino dealer

How about you ladies?

Alex!

I used to do the same thing, fantasize about a job where I could dress every day, wear anything I wanted, be as sedate or wild as could be.

Then I did it! I quit my boring high paying job and went to beauty school, worked a year in a salon to understand when to jump and placed an ad on Craigslist for a crossdressing cosmetologist postion. I got 4 answers and 4 interviews within the first day.

Today, I own my own studio where I do wig styling, wig sales, makeup (permanent, conventional, airbrush) and MtF and FtM transformation services. I dress anyway I want, work the hours I want and generally live the perfect feminine role.

This is a perfectly feasible idea, it does work!

Your sis,

Tami

I'd like to be some sort of professor at a nice university, not mindlessly pushing buttons on my computer at work so someone else can make money :(

My areas of interest are:
-Astronomy (but I'm horrible at math so this is out)

-Archeology/Mythology/Ancient History I'd love to sit around and study old civilizations and try to understand what was important to them and look at their myths and legends, then go out and actually dig up and see where and how they lived :D

I have options: Teaching music again and adding to my one student, getting my NV re license, or just going to CA and doing real estate. I have attempted right now srarting a liquidation business with a huge firm as an associate.
I have also considered resuming my engineering career but may not be able to get a position suited to my 35 years experience and having my own company. I could also teach at UNLV in transgender studies or in the school district as a substitute if they will now reconsider with the documentation I gave them that shows my community dismissal was plain discrimination by some ignorant people who thought transgender was a dirty word.

I am also very afraid that NO ONE will hire me due to my age and for full time work THEIR insurance forbids anyone over 50. This is true of many corporations.

Maybe the President. I'd turn my share of heads. Some will double-take, and the rest will just keep on spinning. :heehee:

I'll have to wait until Obama, Hillary, and Barney Frank have all had a turn, though.

I think I have my “Dream job” I run a dressing service from home so I am dressed smartly every day, Some of clients like the “fantasy” side of cross dressing, maid, school girl, etc. so I dress to suit their fantasy. That means I get to wear a number of different outfits in a day, (how cool is that). The one thing that I have learnt doing this is that there are lots of men who want to dress but can’t do it at home, which from a financial position is good for me but I do find it a little sad that so many men just can’t be who they want to be. Philly......there's not much job security in the railroad anymore. I should know. I come from a railroad family as my great-granddad, my granddad, and my mom all worked for the AT&SF Railway Company (Atchison/Topeka & Santa Fe) here in Kansas.....altho since the Burlington-Northern Railway Company and the Santa Fe merged together in 95, or 96 (somewhere in there)...they became the BN&SF Railway Company.

Sorry..(lol)..that was a little off topic of the thread...but my dream job (in female-form) would be as a bank teller or as a office worker in one of those BIG office buildings in one of the big cities (New York, Chicago, Boston, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, LA)...just to name a few. I would get to wear the business suits w/heels everyday.

Jen,
There's nothing silly about being a bus driver. I'm a big transit & rail buff myself.

I see in Edmonton that they have the Flyer Bus according to the pic. Here in Philly,SEPTA has the same model buses, but we call them "Low Riders" since when you board them you feel so low.

National Geographic photographer is a position I have dreamed about since high school, I would be able to dress any way I wished while out in the field. I am getting to the age where that career is going to be out of the question, due to arthritis in the knees. Another is dog kennel owner and dog trainer, a career I am very seriously considering. It would have to wait for at least three more years, when I can begin collecting retirement and afford the drop in income. Dogs don't care how you dress, probably don't care if you dress at all. Only when dealing with the public will dress matter.

To be whatever I enjoy, I have so many interest in life and really are trying to pull them together such as I love to mess with art glass as a hobby, I also love to do woodworking, so I am dabbling into metal work as well. I have all the necessary tools such as a drill press welder torch table saw router etc and have decided to try and implement all the different things into something artistic and creative to fulfill all my desires into one. I am making at the present wooden clocks that run off of weights, so the frame is all wood i am putting art glass accents into them and using copper and brass for the weights and other parts that may need metal such as brass rods and tubes for the axles for the wood gears. Its something thats artistic and gives me great satisifaction when its all done so hope to make that something I can make some money from as well since I stay at home due to being disabled and make the best of a bad situation. We all have to keep on some how and make the best of what we can anyway. This is just part of my way.

For Imma, it would be great for it to be a job that had a requirement to be girdled up, gartered up, and dressed up every single work day!:battingeyelashes:

At one time, this was a requirement for stewardesses, but now that we have "flight attendants", this rule is not possible.:thumbsdn:

Imma liked the part where the stewardesses were required to hike their skirts and show the boss that they were properly girdled up, and gartered up!

Since that is not an option, Imma would like to be an office worker that is allowed to wear firm girdles, highly tensioned and gartered stockings, high heel shoes with ankle straps, long line bras, and full makeup along with tight skirts for of a long day. Hoepfully, there would be some overtime that would require Imma to be girdled up and gartered up past the workday!

Of course my nails would have to be polished every day and Imma would wear big dangle earrings every day!:o

I once had the chance to work for my ex sister-in-law over a 2 month period . She runs her own business and a very succesful one, I worked on the phones and doing general office duities while her assistant was away. I almost leapt out of bed and into my office wear every day, I have often wondered what her customers on the other end of the phone would have said if they had seen me at the other end in my smart skirt suit , pantyhose and heels . So my choice of work would be to be her assistant again ...but fulltime until I became the CEO :heehee:

In a sense I'm in my dream job right now as a computer programmer for one of largest (and thank God, healthiest) financial institutions in the USA. It is so great because, I don't have a college degree, but have a tonne of experience, having been a programmer since the mid 1970s, and sit back and watch how people with Bachelors and Masters degrees just haven't a clue at times. Plus I have a lot of fun with everything I do.

It would be dreamier, though, if I was doing it in Canada, though!

All that being said, I will fantasise for a minute.

Total fantasy dream job, feedback and testing team member for a bra company :) .Which means I'd get free samples and just HAVE to wear them. :heehee:

Okay -- on a more serious note, OTR/ long haul trick driver. When I'm driving the interstates, and I see the 18 wheelers, I always think about the romantic angle of it, seeing the country, being on the road, etc. I know its not at all that romantic, but I do love to think of it that way. Plus, since I love to drive and love the open road, I think I'd like it. I'd only want it, though, if my wife Debbie could travel with me, though.

And then there is being a radio DJ. This is one that I have done. I was a DJ for about 4 years in the 70s and 7 months in 1988. I enjoyed it, but only when I could do my own thing. I could never work for one of the breed of corporate radio stations, you know, the Lite-Rocks, and the Joe-FM, and Bob-FM etc, cardboard cookie cutter stations where in reality the on air talent and music are only fillers between commercials. No, I'd want to be able to a show that truly played anything, told about the music, and had that great dynamic sound that top 40 radio had in the 60s and 70s like on WCFL, CKLW, WABC, and WLS. Oh -- and it has to be on AM/ Mediumwave .. none of this FM stuff!

Naturally being able to crossdress while doing these is of course in the mix. Right now I underdress, or at least wear pants and blouses that passes as guys clothes whenever I can. But to wear a skirt to work would be grand.

Huggles

1955 and a pretty good movie also. Had a great cast of characters and I still can't figure out how she got her waist so small.

Thinking about it now, maybe being a leading lady in a movie with Jimmy Stewart would be pretty cool!

LOL! That brings me to another thought that's been rattling around in the back of my mind for a while. I might make it the subject of another post later...

June Allyson was petite in the first place, but I imagine there was also a bit of corsetry involved.

B-36 and Cold War?

Now that's a subject I can get in to :)

The Wright Patterson Air Force Base just outside of Dayton, Ohio houses the USAF Museum. Best museum I have ever been to in my life. They have a B36 there that is in 100%, pristine condition as well as thousands of other things.

The museum is open 363 days a year and has no admission charge.

I went there this past May. Well worth the drive. the movie,SAC, was made with the full cooperation of the USAF, and even more so when they found out Jimmy, a real B-24 Bomber pilot, was in the staring "human" roll. The B-36/B-47 where the real stars

This is getting way o/t, so I will post no more on this particular subject after this reply. We should probably move any further discussion to the lounge.

I believe someone mentioned up thread that they would like to see a B-36 fly again. I would dearly love to see that, too. The B-36 possessed a majestic, swan-like grace in flight unmatched by any other aircraft I can think of. But, all else aside, the cost of the fuel just to taxi out to the runway would be astronomical. On top of that, no one makes 115/145 avgas anymore that I'm aware of.

About 20 years ago there were some former B-36 crew who acquired the City of Fort Worth which had been on static display at Amon Carter Field. They moved it to Alliance airport north of Ft. Worth and began a restoration with the intent of eventually flying the beast. I lost track of it, but recall that they made fair progress until they just flat ran out of money. As far as I know the plane is still there.

"Six turnin' & four burnin!" Go for take off!
