Tore my Achilles tendon in a ridiculous accident. I'm stuck in a very ugly, frankenstinian boot for at least three weeks. I'm bummed.

Hang in there hun! I did a partial tear on mine with nerve damage. It takes time, but it does get better.

Hugs!

I know how you feel. I'm an active guy, and I sprained my knee and ankle in a brilliant move in June. I was in a plaster cast up to my thigh for a week :( (and then other stuff for a while).

It does get better though. Make sure that you follow all instructions on exercising the muscles to build up strength in your leg again -- my second ankle sprain happened because I wasn't good about it with my first ankle sprain. @_@

Not having done that type of injury myself, but having done a hamstring a few times... i've found that by wearing heels helps a bit because it strecthes the muscles and i found the longer i did it for the better it felt.

So to aid in my recovery from playing cricket on a Saturday, on a sunday i would go swimming come home home and put the highest heels i have on and walk around the house in them for about half an hour or so. Hurts a bit but the recovery time has reduced to nearly half.
By the time i go to training on tuesday, i'm not feeling the effects of the weekend and do it all again throughout the week to keep my leg muscles strong.
