With great trepidation my SO and I told our 17 year-old daughter about me this evening. With the judicious use of a picture the subject was broached and discussed at some length.

Our darling daughter appears to be accepting and indicated that she had seen a big difference in me since I had been honest and accepted myself as I am some months ago (although clearly she didn't know why at the time).

She regards the change in me as being definitely for the best and was happy to have been told and to have this important discussion with us. Anyway, I am just so utterly relieved that I am now able to be honest with my daughter. I am expecting to get lots of questions in the near future.

I would like to say thanks to everyone here, both those whose posts I have responded to and those I haven't for indirectly helping me in my decision to tell my daughter and how and with what facts to have the discussion. This has been invaluable. Heartfelt thanks to all.

Hugs

Sarah, what great news, I am very happy for you. I would think that your daughter is pleased that you have such faith in her ability to understand and accept this. I think you are also right in thinking as she mulls this over, she will have questions for you.
Thanks for sharing

That's great news, Sarah. I felt the same when I told my 21 year old son. He's cool with me dressing up.

Good for you Sarah! I know it is a giant relief, I just came out to my SO's 22 year old daughter and she was cool with it!
