So for those who don't know me. I am currently in the process of transitioning and have been meeting with a therapist for the last few months. Well last week I asked my therapist the age old question of when I would be ready to start HRT and he told me I was ready and could start now.
So I got to my session today and the topic of HRT came up again. He told me the name of the endocronologist he works with and asked me if I had any concerns with her being a woman etc. I told him there were no concerns, just as long as I can get on hormones ASAP lol. So he told me he will try to get the letter out this week and told me we wouldn't need to meet much unless a concern or issue comes up or I take my next step which would be RLT. So anyways I am now waiting patiently yet frantically for that letter to come.:daydreaming: I will let you know when I receive it and when I am scheduled for my endo appointment.:)

And we all learn something about ourselves through the lives of our sisters and brothers.
Keep us in mind, dear one. Keep us informed.

Yay.I received my recommendation letter for HRT today. I am so excited. Now I just need to call and set up an appointment. I will let you know how it goes. I do have a question for those on HRT though. My therapist recommended Premarin and I haven't heard good things about that one. Is there a way I can get prescribed with something else when I see my endocronologist? Any info would be helpful. Thanks
Sharon

Very cool on the recommendation, Jocelyn! :)
I'm sure your endo would be willing to prescribe another med for you if you ask. Your therapist may just assume Premarin is the hormone of choice since it's the most well known.

Yay! Good for you! I'm just starting to see a therapist. And I don't know where I'll end up, but it's going to be a much happier place than I am now. Which is still happier than I was a year ago, so there's always movement. Just not when you want it, what's the old saying.... " If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. " Carol

That is good news! You can ask for generic Estrodiol, I think it's cheaper than Premarin and it doesn't come from horse urine, I think they use giraffe sweat.:heehee:

I went to my appointment and I have decided to wait on HRT until October when I can get on my SO's health care plan through her work. So unfortunately I have to put that on hold for now, but it will save money if I have insurance so I guess it will be worth it.I will continue to let everyone know about my progress
