Today it is two weeks since my Wife and 3 yr old boy left me.

Last week (Friday 13th), i almost got my ears and/or belly pierced, but funding was bad at the time.

Anyway, today i went to Target and decided I was going to be brave and try on clothes in-store for the first time! All the threads of you girls trying on clothes in-store gave me the confidence - not mention i'm leaving town soon, so the shop assistants won't see me again probably.

I tried on a jacket, skirt, pants, jeans, three blouses/shirts and three tops. I discovered that for my bottoms, i'm only a size 16! I was sure i'd struggle into 18's! But for the tops, size 18 is a tight fit! I would be more comfortable in size 20's, but the slim fit changes in a generous fit when going from a 18 to a 20. Also the range and styles is considerably less in the larger size. Damn my large upper body!

Is it worth wearing a shirt/top if its a real close fit?

But in the end, I bought a pair of black pants and a red top with black pipe trim on the sleeves and hem. Haven't had an outfit for ages! Actually, I should go and put them on! i'll be back shortly!

Oh, it's been so long!

My new pants fit really well - very flattering considering I have a bit of a belly (which i'm working on). Still, they are size 16's, so I can't complain about that!

My top compliments the pants, but i'm not sure if the sizing is appropriate long term. I bought the 18 top to see how it feels with constant wearing. If i think it fits well and looks good, i'll continue to buy this size, otherwise i'll get 20's, but probaly from a specialist ladies store so that I find better styles in that size.

Next, I need some court shoes to start with. I know i'm a 10 1/2 to 11, so it will be a challenge as most shoe stores only stock up to size 10's.

Oh the battles we girls have to go through to find things in our size!
