Well girls I finally met another person face to face. In a recent thread I told of my lack of courage in ctually doing this and that my trips up to now consisted of just driving at night and walking in remote areas. Well tonight I decided I was going to take one of those "baby steps" alot of you talked about in your responses. I got into my car and decided I wanted some fench fries and proceeded to nearest fast food place to the drive thru. I took a deep breath before I got to the order menu , ordered in a light voice and drove to the next window where I met a young lady who said nothing except"be careful these just came out of the fryer so there very hot" . Then she told me to have a nice night and I told her the same. I drove off feeling great and empowered. I have no idea if she read me or not but a large part of me didnt care either. This particular feeling of not worrying has been up to now a un-thinkable notion. It was terrifing and wonderful at the same time. I look forward to taking more "steps" but to also remeber to not go to fast as a lot you had mentioned. I just had to write this to let you girls know and to ask if these feelings are simlair to your first expierences. A big thanks and hugs to all of you-- wendy :hugs:

This is just a warning! This addiction to potatoes that you have can lead to nothing but more. Just think, the next thing will be to go into a resturant and order a Baked Potatoe! Oh my god, what are you thinking? Do you know what this will lead to?
Going out as a couple, dressed to the nines, ordering a meal with some un-pronouncable name with some exotic potatoe dish. You hussy.
I am so proud of you. You are now officially out, so buck up and have a great next time.
Your sis,
Tami

Potatoes! O M G !
Why couldn't you have gotten addicted to the salad bar!
At least have a Diet Coke with that! Small!
Those extra pounds are gonna be your own darn fault!

Oh how I remember those days! What a rush! Congratulations!
After I stopped "avoiding" drive ups, I tried going inside! The great thing is that you know you can do the drive up, so if you chicken out from going inside you can still get those fries!

Thanks so much to all of you for the responses. I know what you mean Deja about the fries. some extra calories but what a great feeling at nights end.Back to the diet for this girl.I thank you all for your encouraging words in this thread as well in recent threads. Its wonderful to be able to talk to others. living in a remote area and the nearest metropolitan area being almost two hours away made me feel that I wouldnt be able to discuss these feelings. lots of hugs--wendy:hugs:

Good for you hon. I remember the first time I went out and it was very scary but sooooo exciting! Each step gets a little easier from here, and every time you go out, it will be a little less scary and a little more confident.

You go girl. After a while you become much more relaxed. The more relaxed you are the more likely you are to pass or at lease not get any problems. Besides, there is lots of fun out there. You should enjoy it.

Way to go Wendy!! Being in a vehicle and dressed is a great way to be out. I have done this countless number of times. The more times you do this the easier it will be to park your vehicle and just walk inside and place your order. This is more daring but much more fun. I hope you will do it.

The voice is the hardest part for me. As soon as I'm just a tiny bit nervous I find it imposible to talk properly. Sounds like you got the major battle won.

I started going out by just driving around. Then I wore my panties and a bra under my t-shirt and went out to some clubs. Now I dress the way I feel like it might be jeans with a lacy top or a skirt blouse . The more you do it the easier it gets. Diane Love

Thank you to all of you for your kind words and votes of confidence. Im already trying to decide on the next adventure, where to go and what to wear since Im planning to actually get out of the car and go into some sort store. I feel I need to plan this out fairly well because the area I live in is very rural being well south of buffalo ny near the pa border and no cities for at least 80 miles in any direction. Well let me put it this way-- I think the local farm animals out number the people here. Im not going to let this deter me however because of the happiness that cding brings to me and the desire to express this part of my self is stronger than the worry of what people think you are supposed to wear. Most of the gg's here wear a basic top and some jeans with sneakers. The remainder are wearing mostly a blouse and skirt combination with two to four inch heels. I have both of these looks in my wardrobe except for sneakers. The only footwear I have to my disposal are a pair of four inch shinny black heels which I love. I do have my size 13 mens birkenstocks which I think could work especially since I keep my toe nails painted. Oh well I will figure something out as to where to go and what to wear. If any of the girls on the forum have any suggestons about this I would love to hear from you and again thanks for all of supportive words. wendy:hugs:
