I've been thinking about hormones for a while (little thoughts for a few years, more since I started CDing), and I'm wondering;

1. Does anyone know of a good therapist in the maryland/DC area who might specialize in this? I want to make sure this is really what I want, and I know getting into therapy is a must for this.

2. I've read pretty much everywhere that hormones kill both your sex drive and your...um...capacity. Is there any way to not have that happen? I've been very sexual all my life, and my CDing is very much linked, as is most things in my life. I'd hate to finally get the female body I've wanted, but lose all interest. Also, I think my wife might kill me :eek:
Any thoughts?

You absolutely do not want to even think about HRT unless you are definitely going to transition. It's not something you can do part-time and should not do on a whim... Not only will it affect your psychological drive, it will have permanent effects on your body... which is why most don't start HRT till they have gone through some RLE and/or gotten reccs from their therapist.

1. Sex drive and erections are kinda random actually - and it's much much less affected if you remain sexually active. I had a libido increase actually - if anything, libido changes (in the way it feels or manifests) rather than decreases are common among youth, or maybe it's simply because those who write/are heard for the books transition old and therefore are either buying in old sexist tropes or simply are not necessarily that attuned to the way things really changes (option 3 is simply, they're losing libido anyway at that age).
2. Some people do hrt and do not move completely opposite in their gender, (srsly, disregard the toxic nonsense above) socially. You can really identify to whichever end you want - the main thing is being honest with yourself and your partner.

You can't have it both ways and wanting to is a mistake, if you want to function as a man then stay that. I also don't think hormones should be any part of CD'ing, only about making you feel right if you're transsexual.

Thats what the therapy is going to be for, to figure out if I'm actually a transsexual or just into CDing.

A-

You asking questions that many of us ask.. your therapist will help you alot if he/she is even remotely knowledgeable..

it may take awhile but in your area you just have to look online and in forums hopefully someone will pop up for you..

sex drive? this is a way more controversial question, but one thing is for sure...it will change your sex drive..seems that girls are all different in how they change and what they want in this regard ..

take care of yourself
