I saw my GP this morning to get my 3 monthly hormone prescription, he then took my blood pressure and hormone balance test.

Then he spoke about my request via my psychiatrist to be referred to the Endocrinology dept of the RVI in Newcastle. He confirmed that no communication had been had been received from my gender psych. So he said he would refer me anyway, and this delighted me greatly.

A yippeeee moment

At last things maybe happening

He had been told about my Thyroid Chondroplasty, and asked what that entailed, when I told him, he wished me well with my surgery. Its nice to know that my GP has learned so much in the 3 years he has been dealing with my transition. He even remarked that my voice was very good.

Hi Ásfr*ðr,

It has taken 18 months on hormones to get referred to see an endocrinologist. Basically I want answers as to why the feminization process in me isn't as good as some of my friends. ie muscle tissue and body hair reduction and fat re-distribution.

I'm sure the endo has the answers to my questions.

All the best with your transition

xx

Over here in Australia the norm seems to be you see the endocrinologist first and then go onto hormones.

I'm due to see mine in a few weeks time with the hormones to follow directly afterwards.
