On the makeup board i belong to i got a really nice PM from one of the girls. I thought some of you might be interested in how crossdressing is perceived in other countries. so let me copy her PM to me.

Ur very welcome! I think it's more accepted in the Philippines because there are a lot of actors/actresses that are CDs...I mean, there's even pageants, contests, and things like that on mainstream media so people tend to accept it more. Of course there's people that don't understand it, but I think it's not as taboo as people view it here in the US. Anyway, keep your head up and just know we're all here for u!!!

I'm Filipino, and when I visited the Phillippines in 2005 I saw a guy dressed in womens clothes at the mall with a girl in his arms. Saw another crossdresser in cd mode at the mall. There were even places where there were cd hookers though... But I shopped the malls for womens clothes too... seemed ok to do with no embarrassment. But the womens clothes in America are way better. And there are hardly any good skirt suits in the Phillippine malls.

but it just makes you think if it could get to the point it is accepted there, it might eventually be accepted here

When I was in the militay many years ago I was stationed in the Phillippines for three years. It was very common to see cd's and a lot of them put on acts in the clubs outside the military bases. They were very convincing and if my memory serves me correctly they were called 'Benny Boys'

I haven't been to the Philippines in a long time (1991).
I guess it's time for me to visit again.

Hugs!

Did you get her permission to post that PM here? This is an open board you know...

Glad to hear that about Phili, I had a TS friend there about 2 years ago I met online and she said finding employment as a TS there was very difficult. I have to wonder if some of the islands there are more accepting than the others. Wish i could visit there, I hear its beautifull.

Phili t-girls IMHO, are the most gorgeous I've ever seen.

There seem to be certain spots in the world where cross dressing/transgenderism appears to be more accepted, like the Phillippines, the UK, Singapore, Thailand, Brazil.

So what country is most TG accepting? And what is it about that country that makes it so accepting?

I don't have any problems here in Eustis, FL. I wear womens clothes all the time even a denim skirt and I don't even try to pass as a woman.

I believe Asian countries are more sympathetic and respectful of crossdressers and transgendered individuals. I know they have beauty pagents for transsexuals and transgendered women in Thailand and other Asian countries.

I think most countries are accepting.

Yes, you get a few rough areas, and you have to be careful where you go (as does any GG).

Generally people do not care or even respond if you are in a public place.

It tends to be close people like family that never accept your lifestyle.
