Right or wrong Melbourne is my city.

I always enjoy wandering the arcades, having a coffee at those exquiset cafes, and of course a wander thru Myers dept store never miss the lingerie dept, also love to buy stockings theres a great range. And envy the GGs getting make up advice at that great range of cosmetic counters.

But anyway to the point I went out dressed (my 4th time dressed) but my first time into downtown Melbourne. Wondered thru Myers, that cosmetic dept, my dreams all those sales assistants made up to perfection. To my surprise 2 of them asked me if I needed assistance? Doubt I fooled any of them, guess they were nice tolerant women after a sale (?) was to shy to say yes. Has this ever happened to you and said yes ? I dont how it is in you area but in Myers they sit you down and apply the make up uummm!

Anyway I was feeling real comfortable and ordered a coffee and bought the pale green sweater and some boots.

I nice afternoon in my home city

pity tho yu have to wear a bit drab would have like go dressed like in the tartan minis skirt

Best wishes to you all

Ruby,

It might surprise you that you are accepted by sales people at many places - the fact is though that your money spends the same as anyone else's. I've lost count of the times that I've been helped by women sales people when selecting clothes, makeup, etc. Are they reading me ? Maybe - but a good many of my women friends will admit privately that they have just as much trouble as I do choosing clothes etc. and they get the same help. Sort of a "welcome to being a woman" response. The only thing I ask for when I'm out is that I be treated politely - the same as everyone else. They can collapse in laughter after I leave - as long as I don't see or hear it I don't care.

I agree with Stlalice.

When i have been clothes shopping with my wife (for her), i have sometimes spotted the sales charts in stores and the monthly targets they have.

If they can sell fashion and meet their sales targets, i don't think the shop attendants will care who is actually buying the stock! Yes thay may have a laugh at your expense after you leave, but if you keep going back to the store, you never know, you might become one of their valuable customers!

So far, I have only shopped in the big department stores like Target as its easier to blend in and act like your shopping for the GG. However, i am now getting more confident about shopping in specialist ladies stores - my only hassle is finding shops that have size 20 tops in very nice fabrics and styles.

Myer is good for just wandering through and so is DJ's next door. There is a whole range of dress shops in the area and it sometimes takes half an hour to walk a couple of hundred metres. If you stand back a bit from the window you actually don't fog up the glass while you are looking (drooling) :p
