Hi Girls,
I have a software programme that enables one to try hundreds of different hairstyles and any type of makeup and accessories onto a picture of oneself. It's a great programme for experimenting, it's called I' Style Personal
Makeover, but here's my problem, it won't run on Win XP, only Win 98. I have tried contacting the distrbutors website, but no result. Do any girls know of a similar programme that runs on XP? I'd love to have the facility back, it gave me hours of virtual makeovers, and it was such fun.

Hugs,

Linda.

If you right click on the icon to start the program and go to properties, there is a tab across the top that will allow you to run the software in compatibility mode and you can choose win98 compatibility. It should run this way. Email me if you want more help.

Now if only someone can tell me how to post pictures to postings.

Alice, thank you so much for responding and offering that advice, alas I've already tried that but it won't work! In fact the programme refuses to even install on machines running XP. A couple of friends that still use Win 98SE had no problem whatsoever loading it, this is one of the very few programms that won't even load in XP.

Sorry that did not work for you. I have come across one site that does virtural makeup. They have a demo; http://www.virtual-fashion.com/

Also you can try a new hairstyle here:http://www.lhj.com/lhj/story.jhtml?storyid=/templatedata/lhj/story/data/tryahairstyle_landingpage_06292004.xml&catref=cat3990004&event=event9&DPSLogout=true&_requestid=40544&_requestid=40544

Maybeline also has a online makeup studio (Free) that you can use your own photo. http://www.maybelline.com/makeupstudio/index.htm
Acturall poke around and I think there are lots of these online. I may have some other links I can share if I can find them.
Paydirt here. Lots of links to Online makeovers: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/morefun/makeover.mspx

Also did figure out the image insert. Does it have to come from a web site?

Alice that was very helpful, thanks for those links, I appreciate it. I think for pictures above a certain size they have to go through a website, but I'm sure that Tristen has technical details about pictures and how it all works. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful to you, the problem is I don't know enough about it.

Nice legs by the way.

Love

Linda.

there is a button under your post reply text box marked "Manage Attachments" Click there and upload files in the little window from your computer. File Size limits are 39.1KBs You do not have to use a website URL unless you wish to post something beyond the 39.1KB limit.

Not sure how technically minded you are, but if you're running WinXP on a FAT32 partition, you might consider installing Win98 and dual booting if you really want to run your software...

the more recent software (like cosmopolitian makeover which I have) runs fine on XP. I don't usually use that stuff anyway because I can do better looking photos in photoshop (even with hair).

Hi Slim, thanks for your suggestion, do you know the largest size drive that Win 98 can recognise?

Linda.
