I know we have a lot of halloween questions on here, but here is another.
I want to go out for halloween dressed. A few close friends of mine know, but the majority of them do not know that I am a CD.
I am not ready for everyone to know that I Cd, so I am wondering what the best costume would be to wear that I could get away with going all out, but not raising too many questions as well. Would it be best to go dressed as a normal girl? Or a girls costume? What kind of girls costume? I've been thinking of a sexy snow white, witch or a go-go girl. I also want to be able to go to a straight club as well.
Also, what about something androgynous?
Thanks for the Help

Some straight guys get help from GGs and go for a completely fem look! U could, too. Just make your story believable, if someone asks who helped u dress up.:D

Most straight guys dress up as a parody of a woman. Balloon boobs, beard with bad makeup, cheesy wig, and NO foundation wear.

U should do what U feel like doing! It's Halloween!!!!!!

Go--"over the top"---like a hooker or what I did---A gypsy fortune teller. First of all, its HALLOWEEN--and "a normal girl" just dosent cut it. Looking "too good" is a tip off to some you might be a CD. you need a COSTUME

Before I started going out as me on a regular basis, I went as me on halloween and entered contest. Yes I did win cash prizes, most of the time like 90% of the time. Now I go either as a bellydancer, which I am, or I do outreach which is what I'm doing this year. I'll be passing out business cards with contact information. I'd say that nearly every guy you see in a dress on halloween night is TG.

The one thing I love to do is a Betty Paige sectary look. A knee length tight pencil skirt. Thigh high stiletto boots. Plain white dress shirt. Leather waste cincher.. 50's style womens glasses. Red lipstick and of course the Betty Paige wig. Maybe that to over the top

Just a suggestion: Go as Sarah Palin! I am thinking along similar lines. Today I was at Goodwill store and I asked the clerk if they had any dresses like Sarah Palin wore to the debate. (I am older and bolder.) She shouted across the room for another clerk who was also cute and young. I thought she was going to shout for the whole store --bout 20 customers --to hear. But she called her over so I could explain in low tones. "I am Jennifer, the crossdresser." Black pantsuit with black top and burgundy red shoes. American flag pin and conservative short drop earrings. They giggled and directed me to the women's suits. No luck, and no hockey sticks on hand. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.zappos.com/images/735/7357893/6219-499562-d.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.amusedcynic.com/wordpress/%3Fp%3D124&h=240&w=240&sz=13&hl=en&start=65&usg=__NbWL6mFaTcQFXEM3k7AWAWqIu4E=&tbnid=KKtzPQcVtMnpSM:&tbnh=110&tbnw=110&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsarah%2BPalin%2Bstyle%26start%3D60%26 gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN

Later i was at Family Dollar and checked out the hair clips like she uses to hold her hair up in back. They had some. Then and asked the young cashier if they had any reading glasses like Sarah Palin wore, "You know. rimless and squared off." i checked them out and found some that were close to the Palin look. $5.00. I put them on and showed her. She giggled and approved. Didn't buy yet--I am still hoping for a good party invitation.

Becca, if you don't want to raise too many questions, why don't you spread them out? Ask two of your male friends if they will join you as Charlie's Angels. You could each pick one from the originals (Farrah Fawcett, Jacqlyn Smith, Kate Jackson) or the new ones (Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu).

You can get competitive and propose that whoever gets the most 'critical acclaim' has to buy the winner something that you all agree on.

And don't forget to practice saying in your sexiest voice, "Trick or treeaat!"

I was talking with two Fulltime girls this past weekend at SCC. We were discussed halloween and they both told me years ago back when they were guys but CDed that they dressed as girls for halloween. One of the girls went to a party for Air Force people!

Both said its a bad idea especially if you do your makeup, outfit, have shaved legs, etc too well if ya know what i mean! So if its a company party, military get together or somewhere lots people you know and they are not hip to your being a CD think twice.

Now just going out clubbing...maybe to a safe spot where you don't think you will be reconized..or don't care who will see you then its all good.

Of course if you are going to go FT or just at least out of the closet...I think Halloween could be a good ice breaker but that not you were aiming at.

I went out as Elvira on Halloween and my date didn't get the hint that I crossdressed! I had to tell her on the third date I was a crossdresser!

Well she married me anyways! :D

This is one of the best times of years to get a wide selections, especially leotards of all sorts of colors, the sales girls can help and you can get anything you wish, so even the "first time" shoppers can get a great selection (great way to ease into it).

Elvira is a great choice, wonderful black liquid like leotard, with matching silken pantyhose, black pumps and skirt as an option, all in black, mmm I have to go change now, enjoy

Go as a cowgirl, especially if you have boots already. Then there's no comments on how well you walk in high heels.

With the whole cd holiday coming here's my Opinion. YMMV
If you choose to do it .
1 Take advantage of any help you can get.
2 Get a costume of some sort. The "regular girl" thing does not go over well. (yep it outed me)
3.Be Safe
4 Have Fun, get pictures:D

Go dressed up, as nice and feminine as you can, no male attire, shave everywhere, just do it right and all the way. You will get so much attention from the real women, the guys will want to hang with you just to get some attention from the women.

Go for the gold. :battingeyelashes:

I agree with Kimberly 51. Go the whole way. Here in Europe we don't celebrate halloween in the same way. What a pity.

Personally, I have always felt that Halloween costumes should present some type of scary character. with that in mind, you could pretty much dress in any outfit or style, as long as you through in some fangs for effect. i will be dressing as a sexy Vampira type this year. it will be MY first time in front of family and friends as well. Only my wife knows of my dressing. So this is a big step and understabnd your concerns completely. I think if you incorperate something with a bit of scary into your costume or look, it will detract from the fact that you just came dressed as a girl. I will be having a makeover a few hours before and to difuse any idea that I am a "dresser", i have my fangs as well as some whiteout contact lenses to give off a scary vampiress look ( while still feeling pretty and fem the whole nightbehind the fangs and lenses.

So, I've been dressed for Halloween a few times. A Hooter's girl (I was dating one at the time), and a school girl. I've also gone out just dressed as a girl.

The best response on halloween has been spoofing girls and not looking "too into it". A prime example is a party that I went to and a group of guys all went as "Brownie Troop 69". Even better was that a group of girls went as "Brownie Troop 69", too. They had merit badges like "back seat of car", and "no panties" on their sash.

The guys that dress "too into it" aren't as approchable because people don't know how to react.

Everyone really gets a kick out of guys being a funny girl on Halloween. It leads to good conversations like "did you do your own makeup". what kind of underwear are you wearing? where did you get the bra?

When I was a school girl, I almost convinced a girl to switch costumes with me. She was wonder woman.

However, when you go shopping, buy whatever you would like to be. Just use the excuse that it is for halloween.

Long story short. In preparation for halloween, go get all the girlie stuff you want and have fun shopping.

For going out, make fun of the situation and you'll have a better time. Dress in the real stuff all year round.

I think it is fun entertaining the idea of wearing a dress on Halloween but I do not have the courage to.

I think a good look for Halloween this year is the Sarah Palin look or the Tina Faye immitating Sarah Palin look.

You could also do the Cher or Madonna look which has been done by about every drag queen.

I'm doing a private party for a friend of mine and I'm dressing full en femme.
I thought about dressing up as a female police officer as there are some coming to the party (my friend is in the police force).
The best thing about it is that I'm doing the Djing as well, so this will distract any notion that I'm a CDer.
I like the thread that foxyjj111 said about the female attention.
I've dressed up en femme during halloween loads of times and the reaction you get from females is fantastic.
But this maybe due to the fact that I'm djing at the time and I'm the centre of attention, but all in all it's great fun.
Just go with the flow and enjoy yourself :D

I appreciate the input out there, I too am planning going to one of my parties 'en femme'.. though would be the first time with this group of friends that would see me CD, so I figured that if I tried to go 'as a convincing woman', sexy, jeans, pretty top hair and makeup... that it still might have the costume effect.. Though I don't know. Maybe if I just went for one of the costume store specials and just do it up as a lady that way...

I know I'm due to hit the stores this weekend, and am SO getting myself some hot jeans and some ankle boots.. :D

If you don't want to raise questions, don't do too good a job dressing. That is my advice. I also vote for some kind of Halloween Costume...go with a cheap wig too....lol

I think you should pull out all the stops and dress up in a girls costume only day of the year you can. If anyone says anything about going over the top just say you wanted to look good.

I think you really have to do a girl's costume, not just dressing as a girl. I'm doing a French maid. One of those typical sexy girl costumes would be best in my opinion: nurse, maid, go go girl, schoolgirl, cop. That way it's fun for you and people who don't know you dress will see you're going for one of those existing stereotypes.

I went to the mall today, and picked out two pairs of great shoes, a nice pair of black strappy pumps and a beautiful pair of lower cut boots! (I'm soo happy about that.. :D ) Anyway, my S.O. also helped me pick out some concealer that better matched me among other things..

But, yeah, I did look at some of the costumes at the seasonal store, and all of them just seem to be cut for busty women, and, well, I'm not. :-P I did see a Nefrititi (sp?) costume that looked to die for, and seemed to incorporate a more slender figure.. I may invest in that one. Who knows.

Thanks for the input! :hugs:
