Ok so this is my first thread starter here, and after seeiing all the girls here into music this topic may have been around a while now , but I just chose a song that may be kinda my theme song of sorts. If I wont get sued I would like to play a few lines on my web site :)
Not a CD/TG song per-say but while listening to a Joe Walsh song in the car one night I looked at my SO and said "thats me " ,, Living a Life of Illusion,,,,,,,
She pretty much agreed right off too LOL
Any one else have a particular song that sums themselves up & their feelings as closley ?
Bout as deep as thread as I will start too LOL,,,
was just wondering :)

either Mission (by Rush) or Happy Landings (by The Fixx).

Just the first line of Mission:

Hold your fire
Keep it burning bright
Hold the flame 'til the dream ignites
A spirit with a vision is a dream
With a mission

has helped me through some rough spots.

And this phrase, from Happy Landings, speaks for itself:

Happy landing you've been there
Welcome back from disarray
Take my hand now to somewhere
Take me on, take me on, take me so far away

Happy Landings also holds a very special place for me and my SO.

This is a hard though... I'd pick a few: I'm sure there is others that suit me but off the top of my head...

Guy mode: Megadeth, Psychotron or Skid Row: Big Guns

Girly mode: Metallica: Nothing Else Matters or Christina Aguilera: Fighter

I thought I'd dig in the vaults for these two songs.

On a downer it would have to be 'You won't find another fool like me' by the New Seekers.

On an upper it would be 'The bitch is back' by Elton John

I have no idea what this song is about, I have no idea even what language it is, maybe very old French? German? or even Celtic? But I find it to be just about the most touching, and somehow feminine sound!

I hope this link works, http://www.geocities.com/cissysuzie/tjanne.mp3

I do hope you all enjoy it as I do. I love old beautiful sounds. :)

Hi Everyone

My theme song for my femme side (for the moment, at least) is Hey Now (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun) by Cyndi Lauper -- it was the theme for the movie "To Wong Foo". Great upbeat, hip-hop version of that song!

Hi girls, I guess music has a place in everyones hart and soul. A couple years ago I used to hear "Like a rock" by Bob Seger, and wonder where the years had gone. Recent good turns in my life have me looking for a new song to hang my hat on. I haven't picked the one that describes how my life is going now but it is better than it has been in years thanks to a special tune, I mean tone. LOL Wilma

Vision Of Love - by Mariah Carey. First time i ever heard her sing, this was the song.

Although in my current state of depression (Wife & Son left me recently), the current song that gives me solace in someways - its a very depressing song though - is 'Ride On' by AC/DC.

Been listening to accadacca for thirty years - gee, i'm getting old!

I know you weren't asking about CD songs, but here's my favorite "Wife of a CD" song...."Dress You Up" by Madonna. As I hear the lyrics I always imagine dressing my sweet little Angel in girly things. I know it really says "dress you up in my love," not "dress you up in my clothes," but for us clothes and love are very much connected :)

You've got style, that's what all the girls say
Satin sheets and luxuries so fine
All your suits are custom made in London
But I've got something that you'll really like

Chorus:

Gonna dress you up in my love
All over, all over
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over your body

Feel the silky touch of my caresses
They will keep you looking so brand new
Let me cover you with velvet kisses [wouldn't "dresses" rhyme better?]
I'll create a look that's made for you

(chorus)

Gonna dress you up in my love, in my love
All over your body, all over your body
In my love
All over, all over
From your head down to your toes

Right now I'm stuck on the Eels newest CD. I know, no one knows who that is, but they have been my favourite band since '93. Their newest has a song on it called 'Ugly Love'. Here are some of the lyrics:

Dear cousin,
I got your letter
It was more than I thought I deserved
Well she sounds perfect, all I dream of
And I dream about so much it is absurd
But when I get there and she sees me
I'll be impressed if she does not run screaming

My kind of love is an ugly love
But it's real and it lasts a long, long time

Another of their's that kinda fits too is 'Losing Streak':

Was I wrong about the world
It's a beautiful new place
Where else could a creep like me
Meet such a pretty face

Meeting every day with the rising sun
Looking up it's looking like
My losing streak is done

Actually, anything by the Eels suits my life at any time. :D

Sorry for the length.

Well since I'm feeling HELLA girly right now I'd have to go with "Ashlee Simpson - La La". Yeah I know she's just another bad popstar...but F*** that song is catchy:

You can dress me up in diamonds
You can dress me up in dirt
You can throw me like a lineman
I like it better when it hurts
Oh, I have waited here for you
I have waited

You make me wanna lala in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your French maid where I meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

You can meet me on an aeroplane
Or in the back of the bus
You can throw me like a boomerang
I'll come back and beat you up
Oh, I have waited here for you
Don't keep me waiting

You make me wanna lala in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your French maid where I meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up I want more
You make me wanna

You make me wanna lala in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your French maid where I meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

I feel safe with you
I can be myself tonight
It's alright with you
Cause you hold my secrets tight
You do, you do

You make me wanna lala in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your French maid where I meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up I want more
You make me wanna

You make me wanna lala in the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your French maid where I meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream

Enya - RETURN TO INNOCENCE

That’s not the beginning of the end
That’s the return to yourself
The return to innocence.
Love - devotion
Feeling - emotion
.
Love - devotion
Feeling - emotion
.
Don’t be afraid to be weak
Don’t be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
.
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don’t hide
Just believe in destiny
.
Don’t care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don’t give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
.
That’s not the beginning of the end
That’s the return to yourself
The return to innocence
.
Don’t care what people say
Follow just your own way
Follow just your own way
Don’t give up, don’t give up
To return, to return to innocence.
If you want then laugh
If you must then cry
Be yourself don’t hide
Just believe in destiny.

Caught this one on the radio the other day when driving to WV.

Who We Are - Hope Partlow

I don't wanna put on my make up
Just like every girl in a magazine
That's not who i am when i wake up
That's not who i wanna be

There's so much more to me than
Meets the eye
In this life
I know one thing

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are
Who we are

Tell me baby do I look like the real thing
Or would you change the color of my eyes
Tell me why my television's filling me with lies

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are

There is beauty on the inside
Yeah you're beautiful
All right!

Though it doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare (it's good to be alive good to be alive)
Doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive (who we are)
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are
who we are (it's good to be alive good to be alive)

When we are who we are

Well, my theme song changes with the different phases of my life... which makes my current theme song seem even more appropriate. It is "Nobody Knows Me" by Madonna. Some sample lines:

No one's telling you how to live your life
But it's a setup until you're fed up
It's no good when you're misunderstood
But why should I care
What the world thinks of me?
Won't let a stranger
Give me a social disease

Akyra - I LOVE Cameo... *starts singing* "Attack me with your love..." Gotta love those beats. And I just love the name of Sheena Easton's one infamous song... "Sugar Walls." ha-ha

Rebecca - Return to Innocence is another great song. Brings a feeling of extreme happiness mixed with a little sorrow each time I hear it. (It's actually sung by Enigma).
