Hi all,

I am a young and inexperienced CD'er. And I am tightly in the closet, no body knows. I am on vacation right now by myself and there is no one closeby. I want to try going out this time and I want to shave my arms, legs and body fully.

My vacation will take about 2 weeks. Do you think that they will regrow to their normal length??? (Including the body hair and arms)

It will probably take longer than two weeks to come back, yes. I'm sure it's different for everyone but I think it took at least a month or maybe even two for it to be back to its former length the last time I let it grow out.

I'm sure someone will chime in here with exact figures haha!

xo,
Donna

Could you get away with trimming your arm hair short with a beard trimmer (works great, I do it)? That way it wouldn't take so long to grow back and is less noticeable than shaving. As for your legs, chest underarms, etc. it's getting on torward the middle of Fall and you'd be completely within the norm wearing long pants and long sleeves. Nobody would see unless you have a family.

I agree with Tammi and you also can get away with hiding your legs with sweat pants around the house Joann0830:battingeyelashes::heehee::love:

The four to eight week is the norm for hair regrouth for me. At four weeks, the hair very noticable but short - by eight weeks - no one would ever know it was ever removed.

Something that you must remember about the growth of hair is that it is entirely dependent on a set of factors. Making time periods for regrowth a highly personal area. These factors include genetics, general health, nutrition, etc... The books all say that on AVERAGE hair grows at approximately 1/32 of an centimeter per day. To compound the matter; different follicles grow at different rates. Also, because you have never shaved these areas before it will take a bit longer than someone who has shaved for years.

If you want to shave, then please just shave. It is a perfectly natural desire given who you are. I currently shave everything but my chest and forearms. I do not shave those area's due to spousal request. If I weren't married I would shave those too.

If it's not real imperative that you have this hair just shave you'll love it.:hugs:

It takes mine six weeks to be back full enough to be considered back full.. but I have to warn you.. ten days after the itching starts.. and this can last through the three week period.. in my case I shaved from my waist up and that included everywhere I could reach (chest, back, shoulders, and armpits) my arms I never have totally shaved the hair off, only light hair removal.. six weeks on any of my hair (legs etc.) and I have what looks to be normal hair regrowth.. if you can grow a beard then that tells you how long it can take and how it may feel..

For me, after 32 days my leg hair was not fully grown back but it was thick enough to pass. I guess that this is our lot in life. we shave to pass and then we let it grow to pass. What lives we lead.

At least 2 months to go back to original length for leg hair, if you don't have thick hair on your arms I would not bother shaving them. After 4 weeks it is much less noticeable that you shaved them.

I agree with everyone else, it will take longer than 2 weeks.

You can use a hair trimmer with a #2 comb. That will take it down to about 1/4" and barely visible. If you like, you can also bleach it, the bleaching compound won't go below the skins surface much.

I shave and epilate every fall. This has been going on for about 5 years or more. I shave only legs and then wear sweats around the house so the kids don't know. My wife knows and doesn't care about the legs but didn't like the chest being shaved. (Pretty hairy chest) She likes to run her fingers through it so I just wear turtle necks and higher cut tops. As for arms I have plenty of hair there also and never needed it shaved. Long sleeve blouses.

It takes at least 4 weeks for my leg hair to grow back.

Depends on the individual... Are you really hairy or not? If yes, then pretty fast, if no, then pretty slow... Still, no-one ever said to me 'Why are you bald?' We all think that what we see is what everyone sees... but the truth is... 99.9% see but do not observe. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we often become trapped by our own view of what others see than what they actually see... Clear? Nope, must be another episode of soap...

I am a young and inexperienced CD'er.

If you've never shaved before you might not like the results the first time. I remember I had red bumps and cuts everywhere the first time I did it. You might be better off trying nair, but it will take longer to grow your hair back than with shaving. If you do decide to shave make sure you shower first and have fresh razors and a bottle of witch hazel on hand. You'll want to put the witch hazel on immediately after shaving.

about 2 months for what would appear to be full regrowth

Takes me a good month, maybe six weeks. Leg hair sucks.

I'd say use a beard trimmer on the arms and shave the rest. You'll love the way your legs feel when you put your pants on for the first time after shaving.
Next summer you can use the beard trimmer on your legs.

To slow to regrow or too damty fast depending on desires.
Trim the arms and backs of the hands, do not forget the wrists and the underarms. The last two can prob be shaved. Depends on the colour really.

What annoys me is that I have to shave my legs at least once every 2 weeks or it starts to look like a jungle...darn genetics.

My rule of thumb is that two weeks' growth will pass at a quick glance but I need six weeks to not look strange.

Body hair definitely takes longer to grow..... I mean our beards are about the fastes growing hair we have and it would take a few weeks to get a 'ZZ TOP' type beard in length! I mean your leg and arm hair are quite long compared to your beard.
I'd say, just shave your arms!! I think you will find no one notices!!
Definitely shave your armpits!! Unless you are from europe and like the 'Au Naturale' look. Just not for me....
I keep arms, chest and legs shaved..... Other than being 'prickly' after 3 days, it's not a big deal.

Shelioni - If someone presses you for an answer as to why you are hairless (note - GGs have arm hair, and the suggestions on using a trimmer to shorten your arm hair to make it less noticeable are good suggestions), you can always use the stand-by excuse of "While on vacation I met a girl who said she finds hairless men 'sexy', so I shaved, and now that I did it I believe she was correct, and that is why I am still doing it".
