Hi, everyone, just something i,ve noticed and wondered about why....
In the natural world, the male is the one with all the pretty colours and enhancements to attract a mate, the female in comparison tends to look quite drab.
Look at peacocks and most other species of birds, the male has the colourful plumage and all the enhancements to attract a mate while the female seems to blend better with her surroundings. I,ve noticed the same with most species of reptiles, it,s the male who tends to be very colourful, while his mate in comparison, tends to look quite drab.
Even with many species of mammals, the male seems to be the the more eyecatching one, lions for example, the male has a marvelous mane of fur, while the female does not.
If you look at the natural order of things, it,s nearly always the male of the species wearing the most flamboyant colours to attract a mate, while with humans it seems to be the opposite way round!
Why?

Funny thing.
Most people tend to confuse the male peacock for the female. lol

This is an interesting point, and one that I have thought about from time to time. Personally, I think that, among humans, it's more of a cultural than a biological thing. There are some cultures where men do wear elaborate makeup and flamboyant clothes to attract women. The Wodaabe people of Africa are a well-known example. Even in the "Western" world, men's fashion was once far more elaborate than it is today. Just take a look at some of the clothes worn by the European elite from, say, the Renaissance through the Enlightenment (although again, there were exceptions - during Cromwell's era in England, for example). For whatever reason, it's only within the past two hundred years or so that the ideal of men's fashion has become simplified almost to the point of drabness.

just FYI for the lion the mane it to make them look bigger to the other male lions and to be the (KING) of the lions LOL Or for us it would be Queen of all men. You gotta love this dressing thing we all do. One neat thing it looks so pretty to. But yes everything you said was right. I have thought about that most of my life . huggs to all my girls out there . GO ALL OUT OR STAY HOME. LOL

Ah gee, is it not terrible to be in England and elsewhere come to that.
In Scotland, the male in full dress is much much, more colourful than the female of the species.
Bless their hearts

If you look at just the human with out the make up clothing of other embelisments In most cases the female look way better. And I think that may be a major reason for C'ing:hugs:

To follow one of your posts? Fortunately, I've had my glass of red wine!
DJ, of course u know this:
In nature, the eggs/babies are usually looked after by the female. So, she needs to blend in to her enviornment as much as possible. Which is why females r usually quite plain. Why is the male so colorful? To attract a female!
Exactly the opposite as humans! And THAT is one reason many folks think we r gay! They think we r trying to attract men. Alas, if ONLY it was so SIMPLE!
I dress to attract myself! Why is that so difficult for others to believe and understand?
