What's your earliest memory of dressing?
Mine is when I was four (I hadn't started primary school so I can date it very exactly) wearing a grey pleated skirt, navy knickers,
white socks and brown sandals, playing with my older sister and her friend.

My earliest memory of dressing on my own would be at about 12 years old when I put on a pair of Mom's panties the first time. I had fantasized for some time before that. My Mom, after she found me out, confessed that she dressed me as a girl sometimes when I was very small, but I don't remember any of it.

Age 5 - I was in Kindergarten playing dress-up upstairs with the girls. I use to love wearing dresses. Now I don't.

My earliest memory is probably about 7 or 8. My mom's friend brought over a bunch of purses and a couple of wigs, I can really remember the wigs. I always watched my mom put on make up, paint her nails. I was fasinated with it. I remember the first time I tried on panty hose, from there I was hooked! I've only told one person , my sons mother, after about a year we split up. She did say that it was part of it, but I did have good time while it lasted. We are still good friends and we're both re-married. She promised to keep it secret and for all I know she has.:hugs:
Mine was at about 12. I found Mom's panties in the cloths hamper...then her bra, then her top and shorts (a cute little sailor's outfit). Next it was into the medicine cabinet for her lipstick. I was hooked...

I was some place around 5, I remember wearing one of my sisters bikini bottoms and using a belt for the top and wishing I had the other half of the bikini, I also remember my brother seeing me and hollering MMMooooommm.
and thats about it accept for the way I felt, I felt whole, and the feel of the bikini bottom was the most wonderful thing I had ever felt.
that is my very first memory.

I can't remember exactly (hey things become a blur when you get older) but I was 10 or 11 and I found my mothers "bloomers" in the bathroom drying and had this impulse to try them on. I've been hooked ever since. After that is was her stockings, slips, dresses and always lipstick. Lipstick is still a passion of mine.

I was about 12 and remember sneaking my sisters garter belts and stockings. I was also working at a womens clothing store (janitorial work) at the time. They were discarding a number of panties so I took some.

For me it was 12-13 and it was my mothers bras stuffed with socks. Keli
i remember the soft feel of my mom's slip as i touched it as a youngster. she ahd sily buttons on her sunday best dress that i would finger as i lay in her lap.
but more so was a little girl -1st grade who wore tights. the first that i ever saw. the teacher explained them to all. i was reared in a warm region where they were not worn normally?
i can still remeber seeing them and was fascinated!

I think I was 6 or 7 when my sister put makeup on me. But, I remember when my first urge to dress was after I had been tackled by my cousin and she wrapped a play skirt around me because we were playing "make believe" and she wanted me to be a girl.

One day, when I was 13, I fell while playing and scraped my chest. I went inside to check it out in the bathroom, and saw some of my mom's nightclothes on the dryer. I had a completely uncontrolable urge to try them on, and did. Haven't stopped since.

From a very early age, maybe 2-1/2 or 3 years, I would always ask my mom to put nail polish and lipstick on me when she was doing her own to go out. Sometimes she did, and I would wear it around the house or sometimes out to visit one of her friends for a few hours.
When I was four and five, I was enrolled in a preschool program that met in the basement of a local church. They had "dress up" areas for the boys and girls (carefully segregated) that included old clothing donated by the parents we could put on for play. I once organized two or three other boys into a "raiding party" and talked them into thinking it would be a good idea to charge into the girls' space and try on their pretty clothes! We hatched our plan carefully and I got so far as to put a pair of nice high heels on my feet before the teachers quickly stopped us and escorted us away. I'm sure none of the adults thought much about it at all, but I was heartbroken that it didn't work out and also remember thinking that my "friends" were no help at all and didn't really know how to wear the clothes, anyway. :)
These are my two earliest memories, but obviously the urge has been there for a long time, probably before I was able to express it in any kind of meaningful language or behavior.
My Mom was pretty cool about things in the early years. She let me wear nail polish and makeup frequently, took me to get my ears pierced when I was nine, and bought me my own first real pair of heels when I was twelve. I think after puberty started to hit she thought all this was not such a good idea anymore, and she didn't participate, or even really want to know that I was dressing, after that point.

About 4, the girls that lived down the street had dressed my 2 year old brother in a tutu while we were all in the garden, they showed my mum and she laughed, he didnt have any idea what was going on. I remember asking my mum "i want one" so the neighbors went and got one and the rest is history.
I know it carried on after that as we used to play dress up with the girls on our street all the time, but the next time i remember was getting caught dressed in my mums wedding dress she had put in a dressing up box for us kids at about age 11, after that the box disappeared, i think they thought they needed to stop me but it only made me do it in secret.

I was dressed by my mother, when about 5-7 yrs old, when I had been naughty!! She'd got an outgrown dress (cotton), allover floral which tied and buttoned at the back........from a neighbour. And I had to stay in my (small)bedroom, for what seemed like a very long time. Not just 10minutes! I can recall missing a meal as punishment too.
If I had been very bad, she would tie satin ribbons in my hair too. And cotton ankle socks. My 2yrs younger brother can't remember this happening, so it maybe didn't happen to him. Maybe I was very boistrous, and she wanted it out of me! I don't know.
At my age, it seems barbaric, but different times..my case is not unique.
Later, I watched her apply brown stain down her legs (no stockings in wartime), with a thin line down the back.....
I watched her put on her underwear and makeup.....and lipstick, very sensuous.
At about 9-10, I found that her clothes were similar size to myself, and I dressed often when no-one home but me, and sometimes in the evening, went for a walk (in the dark) around the block of homes..........seems dangerous now. I didn't care. I HAD to do it.
It's been quite a ride.............Sonia

My first memory of dressing up was one night when I was about 4 yo and I put on a pair of mum's pantyhose ,put hair clips in my hair and went to bed .When she came to kiss me goodnight I think she saw the hair clips but didnt notice the pantyhose .I don't recall her saying anything specific. Then I really did not try any clothes again until 13 yo when I purchased a ballet outfit and it went on from there .Then I loved dressing up in mums clothes ,trying on all sorts of different combinations when I had the chance and I loved dancing around the house pretending to be a groovy girl!!

I remember standing up in my cot so that I could see myself in the mirror. I would improvise dresses and skirts using my bedsheets and then do little twirls. I would even use the rubber undersheet as a cool shiny black cloak.
...which might explain some of my fetishy clothing preferences :heehee:

My mom would dress me up in my sister's hand me downs when I was a toddler, I distinctly remember wearing dresses and having her do things with my hair. One day when I was outside playing, I got my boy clothes all dirty; she was furious, because I didn't have that many clothes. She then would often dress me in some of my sisters old clothes when I was playing alone, she told me, so that I wouldn't ruin my good boy clothes. She did carefully avoid letting anyone else see me dressed like that, though. At 4, I often felt ignored, and I grew envious of my older sister always getting so much attention, especially when mom got her ready for school, making her pretty, doing her hair, always buying her new clothes (my sister's wardrobe was easily ten times the size of mine). So one day while she was getting my sister ready for school, I went and took out some of her clothes, put them on, and went up to them and said, "I'm ready to go to school too!" My sister was furious and hit me, my mom just changed me out of her dress and back into my boy clothes. After we walked my sister to school and came home, my mom asked me if I really wanted to wear the dress, but she said it in such a way that I already knew she wanted me to say no, so I did. That wasn't the end of it. Once I started school, mom went back to work, and laundry wasn't always done in a timely manner. Mom would sew red and blue stripes into the waistband of my sisters old panties and have me wear them when I ran out of my fruit of the loom boy shorts, but I knew what they really were. I always had a crush on one of the little girls when I was young; I think because I saw males and females on tv being affectionate to one another, and, being starved of affection myself, saw that as a means to an end. I envied my sister, saw being a girl as a good thing, and wanted to have friends like my sister did (I had none). I wanted to hang out with my sister and her friends, but was derided for being a boy, and was told that was why I didn't 'belong' with them. Now that I'm older, I know that a little sister wouldn't have had a chance either, but I grew up believing it was all because I was a boy (and so, I wanted to be a girl). Over the year, I gravitated towards wearing my sister's old clothes in private whenever I could. None of this made me self identify as female; but it all, when in addition to a lot of other things, made me wonder if maybe I was supposed to be a girl. Then when my abuser suggested that god had made a mistake, that he was sure that I was supposed to be a girl, that's when any chance for me to be a normal boy began to spiral out of control.

I really don't remember ever not wanting to wear girls cloths and makeup.
I had an aunt who wasn't that much older than me who use to dress me up. I still smile inside when I see her. I was pretty young when this was going on, maybe 5.
What's interesting is I have a 4 year old grandson who is showing all the signs of being a CD. He just loves wearing his sisters stuff. What's cool is his parents are ok with that. I do get asked questions about it from his mom sometimes, but they aren't the "will he be gay or how can we stop this". The questions are just curiousity about what she can expect and how to not make him feel guilty if he doesn't grow out of it.

As a baby, I had been crossdressed by my mother who wanted I was born a girl. Later, my older siblings sometimes played with me dressed in one of my mother's slip.
The first time I willingly crossdressed was at 5 or 6 yrs old. This happened when I noticed the lovely little pink dress of my sister, as I had been let alone at home. I felt the urge to dress in it and the experience was so wonderfully agreeable, that I have been hooked for life ever since.

For me it was around age 9 or 10 - I remember my sister (probably on her 6th birthday) got a hand me down dance costume - kind of a ballet tutu as a gift from a friend and as soon as she opened it and I saw it I knew that I had to try it on. I don't know why, but I just did. I think within 24 hours I was sneaking into her room to try it on the first chance I was out of everyone's sight. It was such a thrill and it wasn't long before I was trying on more and more of her things - always in secret of course..
She took dance lessons for years and I always loved the recital costumes she got every year - I'm sure I wore them far many more times than she ever did... I don't think anyone ever suspected. Wish I could find one of those to fit me now.....:daydreaming:

I've been trying to think of my earlist memory but it's hard because it seems like I've always been doing this. I guess by 12 I had tried on my mom's dresses and underwear. I realy wanted to be a girl then and I feel the same today.
Stacey :)
For me it was makeup,.. especially lipstick. At a very young age (before I even knew what the word fantasy meant) I would envision the women in the neighborhood having an avon party (or equiv.) and including me.
Around this time one of the neighbor girls forced my younger brother to wear makeup and made him cry. I was jealous that it wasn't me for a good week (actually, I think I'm still jealous). :)

I can't really pinpoint the first. I know the clothes hamper gave me my first and very easy access. I remember being in the garage twirling in one of my sister's skirts when my Dad opened the door and saw me. I was probably about 4. Nothing ever said about it. I got caught wearing makeup when I was about 6 because I couldn't get it all off. Fast forward to high school. I was finally allowed to have long hair. My Mom taught me how to roll my hair and I slept in curlers the rest of the time I lived at home, 2 years after high school (and, of course thereafter). I wore girl's slacks, tops, and platform heels throughout my senior year of high school. My Mom bought them for me because I was so skinny and my feet were so small that it was easier to find girl's clothes that fit. The clothes weren't overtly feminine, I didn't think. I do remember my Dad pointing out that my shirt had darts. I didn't even know what darts were. He had to tell me they were to make the shirt fit a woman's bust. I continued to wear it (and others that darts), and don't remember giving it a lot of thought. There were lots of incidents like this. Looking back on it I can see that my parents were pretty accepting, particularly for the times and given their background. At the time I didn't really look at it that way. I wish I'd realized it and taken more advantage of it.

I remember it as if it were yesterday. I was 9. So is 50 years ago now, Yes I know I don't look that old.
My parents had friends who lived on the coast, about 60 miles away, and we would go there on the train for weekends, they had a daughter who was 14 and in those days there were no qualms about putting opposite sex kids in same bedroom and bed together whatever their age. It was on one of these occasions that she (the daughter) made me dress in one of her night dresses, this then, on later visits, led to her dressing me in her dresses and underwear whenever she got the chance.
I recall about a year later my parents had some fall out with her parents and we never went back again. Though nothing was ever said in the family I do believe it was because it was discovered what the daughter was doing with me.
As for myself I was hooked for life.
I even chose to use her name as mine in later life as a reminder and a thank you to her. I often also wonder what happened to her and where she is now.
If you are reading this now Debby let me know.

First issue: Maybe four years of age... mother had me in the bathroom and used her makeup on my face and remarked that I would have made a "perfect little girl."
Second, age seven: After my parents divorce, they tried dating again and on one late afternoon we three were walking home from horseback riding... and my mother's sandal strap broke. My father's attention to this detail made me aware that I wanted to be able to wear her sandals --- perhaps hoping to get his attentions also. That desire for female shoes has become stronger and stronger over the years... ummmm I luv 'em!
That's the details I remember which may have been factors in my cross dressing. It was very a very strong drive from age 7 to 14 during which time although resources were scarce - I took very high risks to be able to feel and and to wear women's clothes.
Hehe... obviously, I ain't the only one.

I have a number of memories that could fall under the "earliest memories" classification. The first I would guess is the first encounter with female clothing. I had been abducted from the park and when I was found, I was naked and the people who found me took me immediately to my home (I knew my address), and brought me to my neighbors house, they having no male children of their own and only teenage daughters found me something to wear. A pair of nylon pink panties with a red sequined heart on the front. It would be years before I realized the significant impact this lone event had on my life.
My next memory is as I was preparing for a bath (age 6 or so) and as I was putting my dirty clothing in the hamper, I noticed a “new” material that caught my attention and I dug out the item, it was a pair of girls panties belonging to my “sister” (living with cousins at this time so she was not technically blood-kin to me), I dug through some more and found a bra, pantyhose, a slip and a dress. Something compelled me to try on all these articles of clothing, and as I slid the panties up over my legs and then resting on my buttocks, a feeling of comfort, relaxing, satisfaction settled over me. I hurriedly put on the pantyhose, bra (fastened behind my back with ease, almost as if I was meant to wear them), slip and dress. Once I was fully dressed I stood there in the bathroom admiring the image that was reflecting back in the mirror. I couldn’t wait for the next time I could dress up in her clothing again. I was “sick” the next day and got to stay home from school by myself and it was then that I discovered the joys of my “mother’s” (technically my 2nd cousin on my fathers side) wardrobe which tended to fit me better than my “sisters”. The rest I guess you could say is history..

I think about this every so often and truly cannot remember a time when I didn't want to dress as a girl. I do recall pretending to be a girl as early as 5 or 6, going through my mom's lingeries and trying on a slip. Somehow, I knew I wasn't suppose to do that but couldn't stay away. I'm sure my mother knew but never said anything until she actually caught me dressed, and even then said very little. My dad was the one who was sent to straighten me out. He didn't and our relationship was always a bit stormy and included the occassional use of his belt for re-enforcement, at least until I moved out on my own.

Apart from trying on my mums tights from the age of five, the first time i dressed completely was when i was about nine or ten.
My sister who,s a year and a half younger than me had been to a birthday party on the Sunday, i so wanted to wear her party dress that the next day i pretended to be ill so i didn,t have to go to school. My mum still had to work so i was left at home alone.
As soon as she left the house i was in my sisters bedroom trying on the dress. I soon decided i wanted to wear the whole party outfit, so i also put on her pink frilly knickers, white lacy tights and her pink frilly party dress. I also put on her pink party shoes and finished up in my mums closet looking for and finding a wig she had. I tied a pink ribbon in the wig in the same way my sister had worn a pink ribbon in her hair to the party.
I spent the whole day dressed like that :)

I was six years old and my sister had the prettiest little pink satin tutu. I put it on and admired myself in the mirror. I remember that my Mom came into the apt. and I ran and hid behind a large chair in the corner. I am not sure why I hid, but I don't think that she humiliated me or caused me to feel bad at all. I was in first grade so I guess that would make me about 6. I came home from school and went in my room to change my clothes to go back outside and play. My mother had been putting laundry away and must have gotten distracted with something...there was a pile of my clothes and my sisters clothes sitting on my bed.
Must have seemed like a good opportunity and I guess no one was around because I can remember trying on her panties and a few of her dresses before changing into my own clothes and heading outside to play. :daydreaming:

My earliest recollection of dressing was at age five. I remember on the first day of kindergarten seeing all the girls in my class wearing thier pretty frilly dresses. This was in 1953 when girls wore dresses to school and not jeans like they do today. When I came home from school that day I asked my Mom if I could wear a pretty dress to school like the other girls do. She told me no, boys cannot wear dresses, only girls can. I did not understand why this was and felt confused and cheated. It was at this time that I realised I was different from the rest of the boys. Shortly after this I secretly started wearing my sisters' clothes. I had three sisters and I was the only boy in the family. I have always felt that I was supposed to have been born a girl.

My earliest memory (other than goofing around with heels) is probably around 9 yrs. I could never understand why I hated my cloths so much. Finally one day at school during a pep rally i seen the cheerleards and had this feeling I could not describe. I envied them, I wanted to be them. It just so happened that my sisters bedroom was being painted at that time so guess where her clothes were being stored :heehee:, Yes, i tried and I acted like one of the cheerleaders. From then on I was hooked, unfortunatly another 20 years and I am finally starting to accept myself.

Maybe around 8, well before I started dressing, which was around puberty. I would see girls and begin to envy what they were wearing, wishing I could do the same. After a short time, and to this day, a women's garb, head to toe, is instantly processed for which of it I would like to wear. I must admit, my tastes are retro--I don't like the modern styles, much prefer 50's, 60's stuff for the most part.

Well for me was when I was four or five. My mom and one of my aunts dressed me as a girl for Halloween, before then I was always walking around the house in my mom's shoes.

I can remember wearing mums tights, dresses and shoes when I was about 10 years old, wether I actully knew what I was doing at the time was crossdressing I can't remember, but I liked the feel of the clothes and shoes.
I started to dress more seriouly when I was 16 and started to earn my own money and had transport to get about. Though still very much in closet, it is still nice to go shopping for clothes and shoes.

I remember being 6 years old...I was a "Latch key" kid...and my moms things just started calling me...:daydreaming: Her bra, stockings, slips...all the lovely, soft and pretty things..I don't have a clue as to WHY it happened, but it did...I'd remember trying on her things ( They felt sooooooo good )..and I loved wearing them..I'd stuff socks in the bra and slip into her heels...My parents both worked late and I also remembered being dressed and RUNNING to the window to check and see if my dad came home early....and the run back and try something else...From that point on..I was hooked...:battingeyelashes:

When I was young, under 4, my teen aged sister would dress me up. I can't remember when I actually got the feeling that never went away. I know that I had it when I was 13 or 14. I can't remember when I first put on my mothers clothes, but I know that by the time I was 16 my mom and dad would go away for the night and I would dress up. The problem was, I was a later in life baby, so, all my mom had was grandma clothes!

I was about 11 or 12 my mom and I would exercise together to Jane Fonda and other exercise videos and I loved watching Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) I wanted to look like my mom along with the women on the exercise videos and on the wresting program so one time I barrowed my sister’s swimsuit and one of my mom’s leotards and I was hooked! We were working out one time and after the workout I asked if we could dress in the same outfit and she thought I was kidding but I was serous.
Needless to say I eventually gout caught she came home one day and saw me working up a sweat to one of our exercise videos. She sat me down for a chat but I think she knew I was a cross dresser.
When I was 13 my mom and I took karate together and I finished up with my class early one day and she was still in her class and I saw her sparring. She was getting worked up on the mat pretty bad and part of her Karate outfit came off and she had one a white leotard underneath. The next week I wore the same exact leotard under my karate outfit because I saw my mom more than my exercise partner I saw her as a fighter and I knew that anytime I had on that leotard I could do anything. Well, that week she finished up with class early and was waiting for me to finish up and saw I was sparing and getting beat up pretty good part of my outfit came off and I was exposed a bit. No one suspected a thing but she knew. The car ride back home we had a chat she had no problems with me wearing her exercise clothes but not to karate class. If we did an exercise video together I dressed like her but so my Dad or sister would not suspect a thing I had shorts and a t-shirt over my outfit.
Sorry for the long post, but I look at it as my coming out for lack of a better term.

I shared a bedroom with sisters. At mmnn 4 yrs old noticed the most beautiful lace slip that had been left hanging on the back of a chair, the lace and shinny fabric attracted me, put it on then a pair of silky panties, and wow that was it. Idressed all the time got caught all the time, lectured to all the time and by the time I went to first grade I was being "punished" by being made to wear panties under my boy clothes. just me me feel more like one of the girls!
