Small wonder so many GG's walk around in stretchpants and sneakers these days, women's clothes are such a hassle sometimes! I recently got some new shoes, they are darling including a little strap that's almost impossible to buckle, I felt like a klutz each time I put them on...until yesterday when I was going through airport security, and there was a woman, obviously rushing to catch her flight, her bag and purse piled up on the conveyor belt, hopping around on one foot trying to fasten the strap on her shoes like mine! I gave her a sympathetic smile, sharing a secret bond of sisterhood...her shoes were darling, but I'll bet the next time she goes to the airport she'll wear sneakers!

I wear the stretch pants and tennis shoes, one they are comfortable and less to mess with when I am out and about. Plus with my job as a Patient Care Tech at a hospital I wear my tennis shoes every time I work. I would love to dress up more though and with my SO now we will be doing just that. I love the fact we can go shopping and get all those beautiful clothes and getting dressed up very nice.

How most of us envy you! You can wear whatever you want whenever you want, it's nice to know GG's get excited about shopping and dressing up as much as we do...sometimes when I look at the way women dress, I wonder if they even enjoy wearing women's clothes!

Windy Cissy, I agree, in that I go to singles dances, and it seems, to me, too, that many birthgirls, find dressing up, a burden. I help one, and rented a room , at her place, and she does not own any dresses, skirts, nice shoes, or jewelry, but only wears t- shirts, sweat shirts, and baggy bluejeans, also never fixes hair, or shaves a mustache. She is at the opposite end of female the feamale spectrum, to those who like to dress up, and go out. Unusual times, but, i guess it has always been.

Let not talk about how some of those cute shoe hurt your feet! I have learned to stay away from the cute shoes for that reason.

Pantyhose last about an hour before developing a run, bra straps never stay up, makeup is time consuming, panties squeeze the privates, wigs make the head sweat and the shoes are uncomfortable. Women have to wear these things, why would any man in his right mind volunteer to wear this stuff?

And we haven't even talked about shaving everywhere, waxing, plucking...let's face it, the thrill we get from turning ourselves into women is powerful mojo!

It sure is powerful mojo. My wife gets the biggest kick out of me when I am dressing. I love wearing all of the things she hates.

My bra straps don't fall down anymore. Or, maybe a couple times a year at most, and I wear a bra every day, often the whole day. You have to find a model that really fits; for me, barrel chested, it seemed impossible, especially since I wasn't willing to go in for a fitting; big bras seemed to be for wide women. I think it's why there seem to be a bazillion different bra designs out there; go to the JCPenney site and they have 366 different bras available, and that's just a start. If you count up all the different ones available today online, I'm guessing you'd come up to maybe ten times that many from all the different manufacturers. Like us, every woman is a little different, breasts just a little bit different, and it truly is hard to find the right one. But.....I found my style. Bought several of every color they had. Oh, and you can NEVER put them in the dryer, ever. Wash in cold water, in a 'bra keeper' device to prevent damage to the straps if you are going to put them into the machine washer. Make sure they are rinsed well; detergent left in at all will destroy the elastic. Straighten out the straps when you lay them out to dry on a towel; do not hang dry with the weight of the bra on the wet straps. My method is to machine wash delicate cycle, cold water (although in the winter I set in on warm, because the cold water is freezing), in a bra keeper of some sort so the straps and band don't get twisted by the agitation or by other clothing in the wash (I wash my bras in with my other lingerie; panties also go in a small mesh bag to protect the elastic, and the panties don't go through the hot dryer either so they seem to last much longer). Do a second rinse. To dry, I put a towel over the shower curtain, and drape the bras over, one strap on each side, the band supporting the weight of the bra. So far, my straps have remained elastic enough to stay on my shoulders. One of my body shaper/briefer has to stretch quite a bit to keep me 'in shape'; I wear it about once every few weeks. It's now almost seven years old, straps intact, no sliding. So if your problem is being sort of barrel chested, and your bras seem made for wider shoulders, keep an eye out for this one in the Lane Bryant brand catalogs (it seems out of production right now, but I've seen it twice so they might release it again). Style number is 27-1409-5 vendor #02623. I think it is a Valmont product but don't remember for sure. Pic is this one,in post #56, came in white, pink, blue, red, & black: http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91265&page=3

Actually bras are the least of my problems, once you get ones that fit...and whether they are wearing skirts and dresses or stretchpants and sweatshirts, women have to wear them all the same, and we don't need them no matter what!

Tracii, if your bra straps don't stay up you are wearing the wrong size bra!! Or else you don't have them adjusted properly.
I really don't understand why some women don't like to look feminine. And I am not talking about Lesbians, just about ordinary GG's. Although I do sometimes wear feminine jeans or slacks, I still try to look as feminine as possible. I love to look that way!! BTW, I don't buy shoes I can't put on, or buckle, easily!

I wouldn't go that far Windy. I'm a natural C cup, I need one and refuse to go braless. I just feel naked and too self conscious without a bra.
I have a couple bras that have narrow straps and find on those the straps tend to slip down more often even though they fit me very well. I think it's not just a matter of fit but style as well that contributes to the strap slippage problem.
