View Full Version : Is there more Larger Ladies on the forum?

Tracy_Victoria

Sadly I've had to have a bit of time off from the forum, due to other issues. (I haven't had a reliable car for months now so getting backward and forwards to work has been a bit of a nightmare, and like most money and other issues, Plus work have all demanded a bit more of my time lately, and therefore nearly all Tracy time stopped for a while.

I've managed to pop in now and again, but not had chance to posts. However I don't know if it is just me, but there seems to be a few more Larger (plus sized) ladies posting now?

I'm a firm believer in the fact that no matter what your size or shape, long short or tall, fat or thin, we can all enjoy this hobby of ours, to a point we want to accept and be happy with, be that dressing partly or fully, to passing out completely as female.

So is it really just me, or are you BBTV/BBCD really out there?

Yes, I certainly fit in that category, plus I'm very tall, an interesting combination when it comes to shopping.

Welcome Back.
I would consider myself a BBCD. I'm only 5'8", but pushing 240 pounds, wear a size 22 dress and love shopping at Lane Bryant. (Don't get to do so often, but love doing it!)

I'm a tall (6'5") and big (sz 20). I have come to realize it really doesn't matter though, as long as I can find something cute to wear that is.

I'm not fat just fuffy. I tell people I am in shape round is a shape. The two jems are from Garfield. The one I made up was to say " I have a body bilders body , I have just inslated it for the cold. I am a size 20 so I guess you could say I am a plus size . I would love to be a 14 or a 12 , but since I drive truck I don't excersize so can't lose weight. I could lose it if I could excersise on a daily basies I could lose all the weight in 1 year. My job prevents me from doing it. Thats my story and I am sticking to it. well there you go our new club if formed.LOL. HUGGS :hugs::canada:

However, inside I am 5 foot 3 and size 10 with long hair

Well I used to be big... But I've been working my ass off to remidy that.. And in my humble opinion its worth every agonizing minute of it for nothing else.... Just to be healthier as I'm getting older.. Fitting into small sized dresses is a bonus..

Another BBW here, 6'-0" in my silk stocking feet, size 20-24 depending on the cut, but love my "gender enrichment" even if I will never be a supermodel!

My wife often claims that I can look better than her. But then, I work a lot harder at it.....:D

Im a big girl too, 5'8" 240lbs size 22. I have been going out a long time (1977). As the years went by, I grew in more ways than one. What has been nice is that there are lot more places where we big girls can get clothes than there were years ago. I love shopping in lane bryant, avenue and dress barn. Also most of the dept stores have plus size sections. I would like to lose a couple of sizes, but my wife is too good a cook.

I am not big boned, I am not "fluffy," I do not have a glandular problem, I'm just fat.

There was an eisode of 'Absolutely Fabulous' when Edwina was concerned about her weight and ssaid to her mum, "Inside there is a skinny woman trying to get out." Her mum replied, "Just the one dear?"

Wikipedia says ,among other fascinating things, that a stone equals approximately 14 pounds. So a person who weighs 280 is 14 stones. Thats this American's definition.

I will still be trying to lose weight for health issues but I still get dressed and now better looking then before Thanks to Lane Bryant, JMS and Woman Within and my quick stop KMART. I guess you will all know that many brands have different size labels for garments of the same dimensions depending on where they are sold....in general, US sizes are one size label smaller than US for the same item.

So I am a size 26 (UK) but a size 24 (US)....

...and still WAAYYY too big. (I should be about 9ft 8ins for my weight!)

When it comes to being a cd size is not important. We are expressing who we are on the inside and in that regard we all are exactly the same size.

I am SO glad someone posted this. I've been meaning to get to it myself. I'm 6'1" and 280, but I'm a 22/24 in most of the Lane Bryant line, sometimes a 20 (god I love that store). Too bad all my weight seems to be in my belly, I wish some would move down to my rear and hips :heehee:

I really would like to lose some weight and drop a few sizes, but after my November shopping spree I would feel so bad when that clothes no longer fit. Sure it's an excuse to go shopping again. I guess I could donate to all you BBCDs or have a little sale to fund the new wardrobe. Even after losing weight I really am "big boned" so I'll be a "plus size" for life :)

Now who's going to start the BBCD/BBTS picture thread? Time to show the world who we are! :D

Overall, I wouldn't consider myself big- I'm 5'10 and about 180. I wear large tops and a 9/10 in pants and skirts.

If you ask my oh-so-loving mother and sister, who are each about the size of a toothpick, I'm really fat...and they just mean that looking at me in my normal guy-mode. They of course make this "fat" thing known to me randomly- even on Thanksgiving when looking at my wedding pics from earlier in the year (which they didn't attend).

Way back in the Dark Ages before the Internet... I almost gave up on ever being a happy crossdresser. I thought I was way too big at 6'1" and 220+ pounds to ever find clothing that fit and looked good. Once I discovered that there were a large number of stores that carried plus size clothing, I realized that there must be GGs out there just as big and tall as me... Wow! Maybe I CAN go out in public!!!

Yes me too Tracy. I agree with Karren Hutton loosing the weight for all the right reason is just the absolute way to go. I am working on that now. I can admit it is difficult because like CDing it is a lifestyle and a behavior, but one I am willing to part with. I am 5'7 and also a size 22, and it is harder to find a lot of the really really cute clothes for us big girls. Although I am going to post some pics real soon and have been lucky to find things in my size. The weight has affected my life in a great deal of ways so I find myself willing to make the changes. Until then, hey I am fluffy BBCD and very proud of it!

I will admit that yes I am plus-sized. I love shopping at LB, Avenue, and lately at Cato Fashions. Catherines seems to have older looking fashions. I usually wear 22/24.

Luckily I can wear ladies size 10 shoes (so I can buy these anywhere).

I'm 6' 1"/230 lbs. I have size 8 forms that give me a 42D, not abnormally large; what you'd call proportionate to my size. I stick with separates; blouses/skirts for the fit. Love my heels. My height makes the skirts a bit shorter, but I love the look anyway. Big & Beautiful!!

Hugs,

I stand 6-4 in my nylons and wiegh in at 195. Although I'm not big boned buying clothes can be challenging. On the other hand there are many women of diferent sizes and shapes and they survive so have fun no matter. Besides as others have said, I'm 5-3 and 105lbs and love mini skirts and lacy bras. Keli

I am 6'2" and 210 lbs. It isn't too difficult buying outfits as seperates. Buying dresses is a little tougher because I am a size 18 on top and 16 on the bottom.

My wife tells me that is a normal issue for many women. It goes with the territory :)

Beth-Lock
12-07-2008, 04:35 PM
I like the sizes with a number and then X. In a skirt, I seem to take a 22W these days. At one fairly recent time, I was down to 16-18. Note that, I am tall, but not too tall, though rather few GG's are taller..
But my weight and the fact it is in the form of a big pot, worries me. I saw a pro-anorexia site in a university lecture, and wonder if slogans like 'slim tastes better' really help. I had a GG friend who taught me that to stay slim, GG's eat extraordinarily little, like perhaps some days, nothing. At my age, that is not good for the bowels, but it is inspiring nonetheless. Oh how I wish I'd be able to get my weight down, jsut a little!
