Ok, here is the question..... Has anyone ever felt that getting dressed en femme was just not worth the time and energy involved. I do enjoy dressing, but lately, it's been a kind of fight with myself as to it being worth the time and energy involved?

I think most of us have these thoughts most of the time. For awile I just couldn't get dressed enough, I mean so often that dressing was always on my mind. Lately though I've only been getting dressed once or so every other week. One think I've never experienced though are thoughts of never dressing again and glad of it. I wouldn't be concerned witht your desires or lack of, just go with the flow and be happy

I can't speak for anyone else but on the rare occasion my desire may diminish, but that dosn't last for very long and my senses are hightend for the next time I dress. Also you've only got to dangle a new pair of shoes in front of me and I'm full on.

The urges come and go for me too. Lately I've noticed a corellation between feeling upbeat when dressed and feeling down or mildly depressed when in drab. What I don't understand is does how I dress affect my mood, or does my mood affect how I dress? I hope it's the former, then at least I might be able to bring myself out of this funk. I'm afraid that it's the later though.

I think it's only healthy for the urge to be greater at sometimes than others. Just look at genetic girls, it's the same for them.

I think if I lost the urge, I just wouldn't do it.

It has never happened though.

Good question Ariel, yes in the past I used to have times were it all seemed a lot of effort, sometimes I was desperate to dress and others I really couldn't be bothered.
Nowdays I am fulltime and I couldn't imaigane it any other way. The effort of shaving twice a day, doing my make up twice a day, all the little touch ups in between, re- doing my nails, doing my eyebrows (sorry, attempting to do my eyebrows), constantly re-arranging my wig and clothes, it has all become so natural I don't really think about it anymore.
It's only sitting down to write this that it has made me realise I couldn't imagaine not doing it now.

Ariel, you're question has really hit home to me, it's really made me think.......................Thankyou :)

This is an interesting thread. I too have had times where for some inexplicable reason, I'm not particularly interested in doing the one thing in my life that I love doing more than anything else. (except making love) Weird or what?

Luckily for me, my wife Marla knows that being girlie is good for me. She thinks it's a kind of therapy and that (in her words) "girl's clothes suit me and I should be wearing them". So if I ever don't feel particularly "up for it" she just gently encourages me in a soft voice and I give in. But here's the thing! When I then subsequently do put on something pretty I feel fantastic and I'm so thankful that she persuaded me to to get dressed :)

I am analytical at heart and mind.
Talking about a waste of time? This fetish has cost me tremendous amount of $ and - TIME. Gosh, the time I can take for CDing!!!! A day I could spend on everything else - I end up spending on CDing!
What can I say? It is me and I have to balance it out. I can and will do it!

Never lost the desire or should I say need, but have rasied to point that If it wasn't such a need, the time and money sure wouldn't be worth it. As it is, the need to dress is there, and if it takes time to do it proper, which I don't do very often anyway, then I take the time. Sometimes not enough time.

I have so much fun when I go out. It wouldn't be worth the effort to go out if I was "not" dressed.

In my case it means I am just lazy. Sometimes I am enthused, sometimes I am not.
