Matron of honour

Hi Girls,

About six months ago, before I transitioned, I was chatting with my neighbour (who knew about my transition) and she said that she would have me as her matron of honour at her wedding. I was delighted at the thoguht of this, but as I didn't really know her too well at the time I wasn't going to hold my breathe.

I was chatting with her again last night (I know her a lot better now), and she said the same again, she is plannning on getting married about this time next year - soon, but not too soon after my operation - and she is going to have me as her matron of honour at her wedding. Can a girl get a better compliment than this?

In case you haven't worked out the expression, a matron of honour (in simple and maybe unflattering terms) is an 'older' brides maid, shall I say a woman instead of a girl.
