I will be going to the greater boston area over the holidays and wanted to know if anyone knows of specialty shops/stores that assist CD's in trying on women's clothing. Primary interest is girdles and undergarments but would like to try other items as well. I think at one time there was a shop in Waltham MA but not sure if it is still there. Not interested in the normal mall stores as there is no assistance in the process.

Also are there places to hang out with other CD's whether dressed or not??

Thanks!!

Your kidding right? Boston is an AWESOME place to hang out.
OK, start by hooking up with the Yahoo group "Sisters of Boston". They have long since branched out to "Sisters of <Insert your favorite NE City here>". One of their Sisters groups in the area is meeting just about each night of the week and they are a very friendly, outgoing, and fun loving group.

They may have something going on while your there and you couldn't meet with a better group, I promise you will feel comfortable and among friends no matter how you go.

Places I know of to hang out:
Jacques - http://www.jacquescabaret.com/
Can be kind of a unpolished place and not for the timid. It's only real good points are that it IS geared toward the TG, and it IS kind of a TG Icon that you may want to brag about latter that you have been there.

Randolph Country Club

A little bit of a drive, but a reasonably nice place to hang out. While you will find some TG's there on Friday and Saturday, it is mostly a gay/lesbian bar and not geared specifically toward us, but they are friendly and you will be welcome.

Club Blu in Worcester. Sorry, don't have a web page but I'll bet you can find it. Much like the club I mention above. The Sisters of Worcester have a meeting there every Wed night. Very nice group of ladies.

There are also some clubs in the area that have what is essentialy a "gay/Lesbian" night. So while pedominantly a "straight" club, they have specified nights were they are geared toward alternative life styles. And yes, I understand that being TG does not mean you are homosexual, but in all of my traveling, I have found that most gay/lesbian bars are very friendly to us.

Also, MA is very progressive when it comes to TG's. You would probably be fine to go anywhere you wanted to go. I think they even have a state wide law that you are allowed to use the bathroom of the gender you are presenting as.

For shopping

Glamour Boutique

The owner, John Warrener is TG and treats us very well. While I don't do much shopping there (I live a couple of thousand miles away) I think you will find that he does not take advantage of us.
