At the Gas Station

It was at a suburban gas station, in the great northland, and I was dressed in ordinary male clothes.

I was inside, to pay the cashier, handing over my money. The young guy's eyes almost popped right out of his head. "Wow!" he exclaimed.

His eyes were glued to my fingernails; bright blue with gold glitter.

"Those are really shiny," he stammered.

"Yup," I replied, "The shiny look,"

There was a cashier at a busy gas station here, who had long dark red painted nails. I never did say anything about them, but thought about it. He must have been a CD, but, i just didn't feel like bringing it up, on his job.

One of my co-workers asked if I have been to the nail salon because they were done nicely with a clear coat. I said no I do my own and it helps them stay stronger also. Keli

Almost every week, it is a visit to the nail salon, to maintain my acrylic nails. Only moderate length, but always a bright color and shiny finish.

This week, an acrylic fill with new polish, a cranberry hue, by OPI, in the diamond dust line. Almost always, I stop at the supermarket, next to the nail salon, after my nails are done. The girls, who work at the supermarket, really liked it.

Very few men offer comments. Usually, it is only the women who say anything, and they are generally complimentary.

For over two years, I have had the polished acrylic nails full time, and intend to continue with the fun.

Hey Magickman I bet those were some hot looking nails! I keep my nails long too and always have them coated in high gloss clear polish. I get lots of smiles from the women cashiers but the men don't seem to even notice.

Maybe next time, you can dress up a little bit and just pay at the pump if you don't want to hear any comments from the cashier, but I'm thinking that you want people to comment. I've often thought of just wearing some heels to pump gas, but maybe I'll wait until the spring, when it's warmer and less snowy.

I did the grocery shopping today in drab but my nails were painted in a hot pink metallic not very manly I know but its such a pretty color I couldn't resist putting it on.
The cashier said wow nice color and asked me how did I apply it because she has a hard time getting metallic colors to go on smoothly.I told her two light coats and buff.She said thanks for the tip.
I told her anytime hun.
I've been wearing clear at work and no one has said anything yet.

Maybe he was talking about the quarters you used to pay for the gasoline. In July, a "20" would have been the smallest bill used to pay for gas.

My wife worked at a spa and some of the customers were our kind. I was always thrilled that 98% of the time they were treated well and with respect, beyond the call of the job. The girls really appreciated us girls. The only problem was one girl who claimed she was offended because of her faith. The stylist suggested that if she was that offended because of her faith . Make a stand and give the money back in the name of her faith.

Besides for that nitwit all that I hear of was positive experiences for both--The Girl and the girl(the stylist)

I have my acrylic nails filled every 2-3 weeks. Have a gel coat applied. Very deep shine. Only one male has noticed and he had a postive remark.

I usually wear clear shinny nail polish when I am in drab. I have been out pumping gas in drab while wearing womens shoes and knee highs.
