Well Peeps I went to my Docs today under the direction of Leeds Gender Clinic and I relayed to him exactly what I had been told to tell him, they were perfectly happy for me to go on 'T' and to return to my GP and have it prescribed!!! I went armed with the information myself and Helen had gathered and I just said the facts as they were. He thought as many do that I was already taking 'T' ;) He read the info and had no hesitation in prescribing me my 'T'. So from Tomorrow I will be been having 200mg shots every two weeks. I will be having my fasting bloods done first in the morning and then my first shot. I feel ten feet tall I am so content with my life right now.

xx Felix :hugs:

Today my friends is the first day of the rest of my life because today I have had my first shot of testosterone. I feel so totally alive right now and its not only because of the 'T'. Life is so amazing in all its colours, in what it brings and takes away. How when one door closes another opens It doesn't matter what peeps tell ya and how many times they tell you but it's so true life does work that way and yeah sometimes one has to wait and at other times you don't. Yeah most certainly there are things I still need to iron out and take care of but that will all happen in its own time. All I know is right now I'm happy, contented and I feel the safest I have felt in my life in a long time which is so totally amazing considering many recent events in my life
Just had to share this with you all my friends xx Felix :danceman: :hugs:

...Stupid question...s.

How do you get referred for hormonal treatment? Do you go through your family doctor (oh god the horror), or a therapist? How long does it take to get referred? What was your own experience like?

Also, is there any sort of precaution you have to take because you're on hormone therapy, healthwise?

Hi Sparrow :) Well I don't know how it works in the States but here I started with my GP who referred me to the local gender services in Hull. Then I had to see a psychiatrist with a gender specialism who referred me to the Gender clinic in Leeds. I have to have six appointmenmts with them to get my surgery well minimum. I actually got my hormones off my doctor after going to my first appointment at the Gender Clinic but I went loaded with evidence and had my advisor with me but when it came to discussing my therapy I did that and said what I wanted. He then re-referred me to my GP to get hormones prescribed. Now I will be pushing for surgery when I go on the 23rd of January as I really need to get my chest sorted as its driving me nuts  I will have plenty of good reasons for a move forward in this direction when I attend. I know that it usually takes six months before they will refer me but I'm cool with that as other changes seem to be happening and being noted by people around me so thats way cool :)
Hope this has helped Hun xx Felix :hugs:
