With his age I'd say he's probably very confused. I know I was. I didn't know if I liked it or not - I couldn't even find the words to describe how I felt. If my parents confronted me - I think I'd have been a deer in the headlights.
There are many explanations for why some people do this - but few validated reasons. We're all different. It sounds like a cop out but I think it might be a good idea to offer a therapist to your son. "Just someone to talk to who's not your dad"... NOT because there's anything wrong with it (do some research) but because having someone to talk to will help - believe me.
In addition to that - offer him acceptance and love. He's probably panicked about what you think about him. Don't talk about it too much - SHOW love and acceptance and he'll pick up on it.
Don't force it...

You have a fantastic opportunity here to help you son. I guess a lot depends on how well you and he communicate.
First up, how do you personally feel about the issue of CDing? How long did talk you talk to him? Do you think he feels comfortable to talk more about it. Obviously you want to be supportive otherwise you wouldn't be here. There are a multitude of sites dealing with CDing - some frivilous but others very informative and supportive.
One thing I do suggest though is he does most of the talking and his points initially probably won't be answers.

OK...... now maybe I'm wrong...... maybe I'm right.......
Yesterday the following was posted regarding the EXACT same thing....
On some days my son thinks he's a cd but doesn't know. Some days he likes it other days he doesn't. Wat do u girls think.
well my son is 12. But some days even when he's wearing his mothers cloths he doesn't find the sensation u girls do. right know he's wearing a thong, bra, pantyhose, heels,a black dress, and her lip stick.
and today........

im fine with cding. ( im very liberal) i usually ask him why he wans to, how hes doing just simple questions. wat sometimes makes him dress he's when he goes on this site. ( not with me knowing) so wat r ur thought on him.

I know that I started dressing seriously when I was your son's age, and if my father had found out there was no way he ever could have stopped me. But that's just me, I had my reasons for doing it, but I was to young and confused to understand them. Maybe he has his, maybe he doesn't, or it could just be curiosity on his part.
I agree with Stephanie and Deanna. Offer him the chance to talk to someone about it. He might not take you up on this, so you have to be there for him. There is nothing wrong with what he's doing, so let him know that you love him no matter where he goes with this. And please let us know how this works out for you and your family. You're always welcome to come here for advice or support.

The only thing is sometimes what makes him dress in hiss mothers cloths is when he goes on this site. Like when u talks about bras or panties. but other times he just wants to. Know what do u all think.
Yes..... u said that yesterday aswell...... so my thoughts are this..... go away.....
one more thing....... you usually ask him?? but you only caught him yesterday??? puh-lease.....http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y105/Tamara-GG/yahoo_loser.gif

Let me see here, under section 27 'political correctness'
Two people come here with "sons they want to help with crossdressing issues"
Both are 12 years old
Both have a father who is posting here.
Both type the same
And I have heard of some strange names on here but "nothing"?
Sounds like the same badger to me, tell me I am wrong?http://www.geocities.com/tristencx/Avatars/yahooloser.gif

why cant 2 people hav the same issue ther r billions of people in the worldOK, let's play this by the numbers:
6,000,000,000 people in the world
sake of arguement, 50% are men
3,000,000,000 men
How many are CDers? Let's say 1%..... that leaves
3,000,000
Of those 3 million, how many are on this forum?
7046
OK, now - how many have 12 year old sons?
Let's just guess and say 100
Out of those 100, how many of those 12 year olds are wannabe CDers?
Let's say 10
Now, out of 10 CDers who post in this forum, AND have 12 year old CD sons, how many would write the exact same way, and spell the exact same way, and have the exact same problems?
I come up with only 1..... sorry

I wonder, is this actually a 12yo posting this? I got a sense of somebody trying to hide themselves behind the "I have a friend" trick. Just a thought.
