In these last few days of 2008, there are oh so many newspaper and magazine articles about the 'year in review'. That made me reflect on if I grew or changed as a crossdresser in 2008. My conclusion is that not much is different for me than it was at this time in 2007.

All in all, I only got to 'go out' a half dozen or so times.... about the same as 2007.

Only one person knows about my dressing (my SO), no change since the beginning of the year.

My wardrobe grew, but it does EVERY year. The one area where I might have made some progress is with makeup. I think I'm finally starting to become at least a little bit satisfied with my 'look'.

What I would like to do in 2009?

Get out more.
Do more than just 'shopping' when out, something that involves interacting with others.
Visit with others (like the 'Sisters of Gardner' group).
Work even more on my makeup skills
Work on my voice.
Someday (probably not this coming year) my ultimate goal would be to go on a multi-day vacation totally femme from the time I leave the house to the moment I get home.

So what did you accomplish in the past year? And what would you LIKE to accomplish in the coming year? It could be something as basic as underdressing for work for the first time, or stepping outside your door with a skirt on. Or it could be something as major as coming out to your SO.

2008 was a big year for me. I've finally accepted the fact that I crossdress and the feelings will never go away. I also realized where crossdressing fits in with my life. It will probably always be a private thing and I won't say I'll never come out because we never know where we'll be in the future.

For 2009 I would like to go the whole year without getting rid of a single article of clothing. I would like to go the whole year without once questioning my crossdressing. Also I am thinking about wearing a female costume for Halloween next year. I've never been the kind of person to push the envelope with costumes, though. People know I'm a Trekkie and they would probably recognize the female Starfleet mini skirt uniform from the Original Series. Got to get a bit of confidence first. :o

2008 was a HUGE CD year for me! haha...

I came out to my SO....had my first shopping experiences...and really accepted myself and my cding!! It has been a lovely journey to finally accept and really bask in the glow of being femme!

2009 might see the first outing.....

Well..I think I reached new levels of self acceptance concerning crossdressing this year which culminated with me joining this forum and, for the first time, engaging with other people with the same interest. For the upcoming year I really just want to get out, with all that entails, more...I'm tired of staying in!

In the past I finally came to accept who I am and what I want to do, transition, and unlike 25 years ago I am confident enough to do it now. I have started to build up my wardrode and have started experimenting with makeup.
For 2009, I am goiong to work on my look and my voice and to go out en femme.I have been in the closet for too long!:)

2008 was a big year for me because it is when I came out to the world as Jill after almost a lifetime in the closet. I have made new friends TG, GG, and male. I have socialized as Jill (restaurants, clubs, etc), and on Christmas Eve, I attended church en femme. It has been a great year for me as far as my female identity. For 2009 I plan to attend the annual Be All in Chicago, learn to do makeup, and enhance my feminine personna as much as I can.

Shopped a lot but didn't really buy much, except makeup... bought a lot of makeup.... Became a moderator on a woman's makeup forum.... made money in an extremely bad stock market where all my friends saw their accounts cut in half.... .... I got out enfemme quite a few times... Epilated all my body hair off!! :) Move to a new office building which I'm really starting to like with all the unisex restrooms I've found so far!! lol

Just another exciting year in paradise!!!

More of the same to come in 2009... I hope!!

I have accomplished quite a lot this year.

Had a trying but successful year with my business.
( I am self employed , A one person business and had to be out of work for 6 months due to shoulder surgery , just got back to work and was rear ended by a 35 ton truck while stopped at a red light ! back to physical therapy for whiplash and pinched nerves !
I hope my life returns to some what normal in 2009

Joined this site , a very good decision !

And started to talk with my therapist about my cross dressing and all of the feelings associated with it , and have become much more comfortable with myself and who I am.

Looking forward to a new year of good health and happiness !

I went to a casino and sat at a blackjack table en femme....

Splurged on some divine heels at Nordstrom while totally en femme instead of at the impersonal Nordstrom Rack....

Bought a new wig...

Danced en femme for the first time -and with a really good looking guy, to boot. More than once, too! :o

Joined here! :D

Here's someone who makes custom ones for a reasonable price.

Well I have to tell ya I will be glad when this year ends. It has had it's high points but it has had way to many low points. It goes like this.

I made a trip to Boston and met up with the sisters of Boston. That was such a good time.
I had at least a half dozen trips out shopping. That is always fun.
My wife asked me if I wanted a divorce in May. I said no and we went to a counseler. I thought we was going to be fine after that.
I was told that the mill I work at is shutting down in July. I still have a job at the sister mill but for how long I don't know.
My dad died in Aug.
My wife told me she wanted a divorce in Sept.
I got a divorce in Nov.
I got my ears pirced on the day of my divorce.
I told both my kids that I am transgendred and a crossdresser in Nov.
So I will not miss the year of 2008 much at all. Oh ya and unlike Karen I lost more than half of my portfolio. Nope wont miss 2008 at all.

Well, let's see...

I became a member of this forum. That started the following chain of events:

Finding a femme name.

Going out to buy makeup, and actually wearing it.

Buying clothes in a shop instead of mail order. Not only that, trying them on.

Having a makeover done, and having pictures taken, outside. In one instance, in front of people. Using that as an opportunity to explore some things that have been in my mind for a while.

Going out for dinner en femme with a group of other crossdressers. That was fun, but nerve racking.

Outing myself to two friends.

I thank the members of this forum. Without your inspiration, I would never have done any of this. I would have remained in my narrow little world.

Since coming out of my closet and discovering this site just over a year ago,

I've moved further along the CD road this year, than in the my previous first 9!:D

Thinking about ANY CD goals for next year just worries me!

2008 was the watershed year for ol' Tashy girl. in chrono order -

1. Self realization that my crossdressing wasn't going away
2. Joining this site and doing proper research
3. Fessed up to the wife, no more hiding my girly gear.
4. First genuine shopping trips
5. First time putting make up on my face.
6. First time buying a wig
7. First time I ever posted a photo of myself online all dolled up

What a year - can't wait for '09. Might even pluck up the guts to be seen in public (that's a real long shot though) :daydreaming:

This was a big year for me also.

My wife has been of the mind that she NEVER wished to see my other side. Well on Halloween she sugested that I go as an old lady. This ment that alot of steps had to be made.

1) She went shopping with me to get a Skirt and Top.
2) She went with me to pick out a wig and other items, Sure they were costume items, but still a big step.
3) First time wearing a wig.
4) I actually fully dressed and stepped out to show her.
5) My wife did my makeup.
6) First time for makeup
7) Went out in public to Haloween Party

Closed Business
Got a new job.
Enjoying life and making money at it.

2008 was an absolutely massive year for me. I decided to force myself out and the firsts I have done are unbelievalable. I am now at the stage where I can do anything I want en-femme i.e. I am totally out.

Have done the following dressed:
- Shopping
- theatre
- cinema
- public transport
- Houses of Parliament
- Changing the Guard

I can't believe where I am.

There is one thing to do in 2009 and that is dress abroad. I'm not sure where all this is taking me but I know I'm happier now than I have ever been in my life. I am the person inside.

2008 has brought a resurrengence in my dressing and living as JoAnne.

2008 has brought a change in attitude for the better from my spouse.

2008 has brought JoAnne a new wardrobe.

Most importantly, 2008 has brought this website to me. I love to hear from all my sisters. You all are wonderful and I love all of you.

tsee, where should I start. Probably from the beginning...

For starters, I spent my first New Years Eve out with a couple of T-girl friends and rang in the New Year as "Caroline"

I went to my first Transgendered Conference in January and was a model in the fashion show and got nothing but praise for my appearance.

I marched in my first Transgendered Pride parade and got my picture on the front page of a local newspaper.

I had my first birthday party as a T-girl in June with my friends at the local SISTERS social group I started.

I celebrated my one year anniversary as an "out and about" T-girl.

I finally got my ears pieced, and with some coxing, got a friend to get hers done with me.

I introduced a very supportive friend of mine to Caroline, face to face for the first time, after she knew about me for over a year.

I had my picture taken for an article in a very glossy magazine spread.

And a lot of other stuff too. A few personal heart breaks and sacrifices along the way, some which ran pretty deep, but nothing I don't think I can deal with in time.

So in all, it looks like year two as Caroline Emily has been a very productive one. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Let's see...I strated to dress as Stacey on a regular basis. I started therapy with a great therapist. I bought my first female clothes from a regular store.
Quite a lot of progress.

Oh yes, I joined Crossdressers.com!!
