CD Retirement to Spain

I have to plan for retirement, I am thinking of Spain. I know lots of Brits retire there, how CD friendly is it? I assume a lot better than the US.

1st question - How's your Spanish?
Unless you're a fluent speaker or someone who learns languages well & quickly, you may want to give this some second thought. It would be a severe handicap to move to a country where you don't understand or speak the language. :2c:

i guess i should make sure my wife's Spanish is up to par, it would be a bigger handicap for her. Mine is ok, I just have to convert from Mexican to Castillian
