.......No not in a clothing store... In a hardware store!!!

I'm still amazed... My wife and I went and took the daughter downtown for the New Years Eve festivities and on our way back she sees this ubran hardware store that we frequent and wants to stop to see if they have any door handles... So we rush in since they close in 15 minutes, get the handles and jump in line at one of the 3 checkouts...

So I'm noticing that the SA we have is older.. And has really nice lip stick!! And infront of us is a young woman and infront of here being served are two tall, largish guys... So as the two guys leave and the woman steps up to the SA I hear half of a conversation... The SA saying "yeah.. they did have very nicely manicured nails". Form which I surmise that the young woman must have seen that one or both of the guys had their nails painted and said something to the SA..

What I heard next caused my jaw to drop open... The SA continued her conversation with the young woman.... "yeah, I have a dear friend who comes in here and he has really nicely manicured nails but then again he's a crossdresser". Thud.... Did I just hear that right ... In a hardware store??? And she continues to tell the woman abiut this friend... "Yeah he crossdresses but he's straight... A real man.. From an orientation point.. He just likes to crossdress"...

So they finish their transaction and I can tell the woman really didn't want to hear about crossdressing.. And my wife is behind me ... I'm sure she's hearing the whole story.. Because she trys to change the subject as we move up in line... I great the SA and hand her my items making sure she notices my well manicured nails and I just smile..

Well if my wife hadn't been there I was prepared to discuss crossdressing at length with her.. But that didn't happen.. But I will be going back.. And well see what happens!! Yeah!! I'm still in shock!! Lol. A friggin hardware store??

I bet you would have received a boarding penalty----It is always better to give that one than to receive----Especially now in the time of giving------Would you believe I was the Goon on my team in later years---Umm-Wait I have feelings they are kinda fragile now--Don't answer that-Happy new year fellow hockey fan:hugs:

I always luv to look at the cross checking-dressing penalty:love:

i bet if you tried to start the CD convo with her, you'd have to penalize your wife for "icing" later that night.

i would think Karrens WIFE would do the boarding, charging, high sticking, cross dress checking and heck lets throw i a 2 line pass just for good measure and KARREN would have to serve the penalty minutes. shoot Karren might have gotten a game misconduct...

were you in drab?

Sure you do, have you forgotten the wonderful use of sandpaper, I'm sure they have loads of it.

Perhaps some pliers to remove your nails, possibly a new brush for makeup application ( oh wait , that's what I use ) How about a pry bar in case one of your heels gets stuck in a storm drain cover?

Awesome, awesome, awesome! So there is a completely candid opinion from a woman about us, and it wasn't influenced by her thinking that one of us was standing there listening. The world IS slowly changing. You know, part of me wonders if cross dressing would be so much fun if it was 100% accepted. lol

Hi Karren,

It's easy to be misunderstood in a hardware store, just check this out ...

Ah, the famous 'four candles' sketch, a real classic. An oldie but still a goody as we say over here. I suspect that in Bournemouth there are a lot of SAs that have CD/TS friends, because there are a lot of them here, as I found out last night. :D

Just this past Nov. i went to a hardware store to get a tank of Propane gas for my travel trailer, and there was a younger girl working there

After we got the propane, I went in the store to pay for it, and my friend that was with me, came in also.

The girl that looked after us, commented that she liked the outfit that both of us had on.
Wether or not she realised we were TS or not, the compliment sure was well recieved.
Would go back to that store, if for no other reason due to the kindness of the sales girl

Guess you have to be old or British to get that - and I'm neither. I see the potential humor but not knowing some of the British slang made it difficult to understand what he was REALLY looking for.

Maybe this is why they say, "ACE is the place." I think that it's great to have a positive remark about crossdressing come from a totally unexpected source. It sounds as if the SA was a younger GG; younger people seem to be more accepting than their preceding generations--this is probably where the hope lies that CDs may some day be widely accepted in US society.
My best experience with this happened in a beauty salon--no big surprise there--where the young woman who did my make-up was 100% accepting; however, she went beyond my expectations by asking me if I would like to go out for coffee with her after she finished my make-up. I said yes, and it was wonderful. We walked through the mall together, chatting and doing a little window shopping; we waited to get coffee at a Starbucks. And then we sat and talked for another forty-five minutes (or so--no sense of a time crunch) until she needed to get back to the salon. This young lady is about twenty-five. I had never met her before. I had a wonderful time.
She gave me her card and said call anytime.
Next time I go to that mall, I'll stop in and see her.

Yeah!!! It was really unexpected and the SA was probably over 65.. Which is even more amazing.. But the neighborhood is a more eclectic area and I think that has a lot to do with it...

Just think of the conversation you could of had with the SA if your wife hadn't been there.

Karen we all know it's not the need of more hardware for your real reason for going back.

.......No not in a clothing store... In a hardware store!!!

OK, had to test it....

Went to local Lowe's hardware store for new chainsaw blade.

Went dressed in my 50/50, half masculine half feminine.

I saw some of the SA smiling and chuckling, thats ok, I enjoy making people laugh, I would prefer with me and not at me, but thats ok, I still made someone happy.

As im walking down the isles, I am muttering " Chainsaws chainsaws " to myself, a female SA over heard me and said " isle 25 on the left, here let me show you " she was all smiles and very polite.

At the check out, another female SA was very pleasant, and really seamed to enjoy taking my picture. I asked her to take my pic so I could show you.

LOL, I almost wore my Pink ball cap, stop freaking me out..!

As for Chemo, I am 46 years old, and live in the house I was born in, which has an Excellent view of the Nuclear Power Plant, I have always said thats why I have that certain glow about me.

SERIOUS question, that out fit I wore (i hate the shirt, makes me look fat) in your opinion, is that crossdressing or genderbending?

Its just I see some of you done up so Beautifully, that I begin to wonder if I am a crossdresser, and if I fit in here with you.

I don't think it makes you look fat, but I'd stay away from blouses... maybe a nice tighter knit... with a plunging neck line!! :) and I quit trying to label what I do... as long as I'm having fun... case in point the two center photos were totally enfemme clothing... mininal makeup... no hair... went shopping and out to a casino and had a blast....

You definately look better as a woman Karren, especially in that LBD on the left, but then I'm really a red blooded man, even when I'm in a dress and heels!

Happy New Year,
Tony
