We have had a couple of threads on how you would want to be buried (en femme or not) and Karren just started one about femme items left behind when you pass on.
This thought has been rolling around in my head for a while now, but along those same lines, would you mention in your obituary (those whose newspapers still print obituaries) any membership in a CD organization or anything at all about your CDing activities.
Locally, several years back someone originally from my area passed away while living in the Lehigh Valley. I read the obit and it said he was a member of Renaissance in Bethlehem.
Well, I thought it was mighty nice that he had enough civic pride in his city to help it progress.
A couple of months later, it dawned on me that it probably meant he was a member of Renaissance (the transgender organization in Bethlehem).
Girls, what would you do? How would your obituary read regarding your CDing (if at all).

on who dies first!
I wouldn't mind, and I would probably request some things be put in my obit. However, if I go before my SO, I don't think my wishes will be honored.

i'd love for there to be mention of the groups i've taken part in, but like Tracy, if i go first (and i probably will,) i doubt my wishes will be honored either.
So hopefully, i'll make a bunch of TG friends that will know my male name as well as my femme, and when i go, they'll see the obit, tell everyone else, and there'll be a TG invasion at my wake. When i go, i want the closet blown up. ;)
And by the way, i'm Irish, so i expect some partying. Send me off in style. :drink:

I am in the process of writing my obituary (I would like to put my own spin on things.) Although I do not intend to use it for quite some time. If I mention my crossdressing it will surprise quite a few people in my little town. I would like a little advice on how to include it in my obit, I am not a member of any groups.

I have thought of this before and have disscused it with my son. I will have no control of how the obituary will be written but I want to be buried wearing a bra and panties. Again I will have no control over this but my wishes have been made known.

If anyone is going to include their lifes experience in an obit re: cd-ing consider what your surviving family members may face regarding questions about you etc... . I can understand and appreciate your desires as well but there is two sides to the coin. I'd ask and consider what they felt before making such a decision myself.
My last wishes are cremation, just jeans and a t-shirt would be fine with me, why ruin a good mini:heehee:
Then I'm going to be buried with my lost loves, my former pets:)

Thanks girls for the interesting and thought-provoking comments about including your CDing in your obitiuaries. I see so many that say that so-and-so loved to play bingo, was a big fan of (put your team here), etc.
I'm sure that for many of us, CDing is just as great a part of us as is our favorite sports team.
Just some more thinking on my part.
What would I do? I think that later on I will write up two versions so that my wife can throw away which one she wants. I doubt if she will choose the one that says, "Sherrie took great pride in how she looked, never failing to coordinate her outfits and shoes, sharing her makeup knowledge with anyone who needed it, and visiting her favorite cosmetics counters and shoe stores without fail."
