View Full Version : My first week / my wonderful life

I have just finished my first week working as a female. It was GREAT!!! I am working as a receptionist at a Church. It feels great working as a female and being accepted for who you really are. I am doing Community Service, you see in Florida if you get State money you have to work for it doing Community Service work. So, I am learning a new trade, being a Secretary/Receptionist. Good Secretaries done here make dang good money. That is what I am going for. I work with some really Great people in a very special Church. It is GLBT Friendly and accepting. I have found a home at this Church and now a place to learn a new trade, help GOD, and the Church at the same time.

This was really Great as I am 24/7 now and enjoying it more and more everyday. I work with wonderful people in the office. I have learned quite a bit in the first few days, and I want to learn more.

My makeup has improved to the point where you can hardly see my beard shadow. I plan on getting some Lazer done when I get my Income tax back to help hide that. I am still rather tall for a girl at 6'2" without my heels I wear all the time. I have had some makeovers to help me with my makeup, plus I have buying better Foundation.

I have made many Lady friends since I have come out, none for a relationship, but I am hoping that will be right around the corner. Although some of you that read my last thread may feel different about that.

They say that when one door closes another one opens, when I was laid off from my last job I Prayed to GOD that I could get a job where I could be my real self. It is coming true. I have enough knowledge about most everything that goes on in an office anyway, so I just have to fit in and do what needs to be done. I am trying to impress them with my knowledge. I do need to get my typing speeds up though. I am practicing that as I type.

I hope we can all find our true calling someday so we can all be ourselves and enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Congratulations on your first week, Amy!

I wouldn't even think about trying to show up at my job dressed up as a woman. It wouldn't work out very well, even if I informed my employer ahead of time. I work with generally good people, but not all of them are very accepting of this kind of difference.

I hope to land a job one day where I can work dressed up. I can only imagine how wonderful that would feel. And what a wonderful excuse to get some more pretty cloths to wear to work!

Hi Amy,

I am so happy for you. While things looked grim, initially, I always hoped things will work out and that you'll get back on your feet again.
Well, the light at the end of the tunnel finally came and things have worked out for the better.
Congrats to you for keeping the faith.

Hugs!

Hi Amy,

It's wonderful that your church is so understanding. Why can't the rest of the world be like that? Thanks for sharing!

Your world can be what you want, you just have to make it that way. Be the best in everything you do once you are where you want to be and go forward.

I feel so much better inside as I do not Lie to myself or others now. Don't let yourself be bottled up, come out and be yourself. You might be surprised at who will support you. Many will, and many other might not want you around fearing what someone might say about them.

You have to decide for yourself which life you want, you can change your life, move someplace else if you have too. Life is way to short not to enjoy it the way you are inside.

Congratulations Amy! There are many of us that would love to be able to work as a woman. I even thought that if the economy forces a job change that I would hope and look for one at an organization where I could work as Sally during the day and go home as S**** for the night with the family.

Definitely work on the facial hair removal as soon and as fast as you can. It can make a tremendous difference in your appearance and your feeling female!

Congratulations Amy, you have what many of us only dream about. I am retired now so it does not really matter to me but I sure wish I could have worked as my femme self. Now I am at least comfortable going out in public as Laura. Enjoy your new found freedom.:hugs:

Amy - Good for you! The best part in a situation like this is always how you feel about yourself. If it lifts you up, it is a wonderful thing for you.

I'm very glad for you, Amy. I hope the rest of your RLT phase goes well and smoothly. You and Suzy have both taken the plunge, and it's really something to read up on how it's going for both of you. We're always in your corner here, Amy, and always available to talk to. I'm glad the church has given you direction and purpose, too. That will be a big help to you as you continue to meet the world again for the first time.

Way to go, Amy! Learn as much as you can, and be sure to look sharp on the job. Good grooming is so important to a professional image. And keep your resume on hand in your purse at all times. Don't miss any opportunity to ask about a new job that pays big bucks. I imagine you in a big downtown office high rise, thick carpet on the floor, in a tasteful yet femmy suit, as you show in visitors to the General Manager's office.

I'm glad you explained it, Community Service in the UK means something very different! :D

It can be different in the US. Community Service is something you can do to give your time to in a charity sense and it also can be punitive.

The Church I go to is all Donomination, Church but is GLBT mostly. We accept anyone and everyone, we reject no one. I will not say we are the biggest Church around, but we do have quite a few people that attend regularly. The people are more friendly that I have seen at other Churches. I was actually kinda told to leave one Church as they did not want to loose their regular members. I am so much happier where I am now, like I said when one door closes another one opens, you just have to see it and go through it.

I am showing great progress as they are surprised at how much I really do know about different computer programs and how to use the different office machines. They are giving more and more to do everyday and I am doing them with flying colors and ENJOYING every minute. You would not know how wonderful it can be to finally be yourself until you are yourself. I am finally enjoying the life I wish I would have had all my life. I do not think I would have had so much success as I do know years ago, for one thing like many of us here, I used to think I was the only one and that I was crazy for feeling the way I do. With the help of so many here on this website and many other CDers, I have found myself and I am proud of myself. I am AMY.

I was scared at first thinking that everyone was going to drum me out and ridicule me, but I moved past that fear and stepped out, yes, I took little steps in doing so, I just started wearing more and more things over several months until I am out totally now. It won't be such a total shock to everyone if you do it of time. They will accept you more. Sure you will get comments, but you have to laugh with them to get through it. Once you have made it to being out all the time you will have some good comments, just don't listen to the bad ones and keep moving a head.

Just becareful and never put yourself in a position where you might get into trouble, stay visable like a regular female would, stay out of really straight bars, I do not drink so this is easy for me and I doi not do any illegal drugs either.

ENJOY the life you have, you only live this one once.

As far as at work no I have not had any problems with anyone. Sometimes when I am out and about in the stores, I will hear someone say something, but nothing that I cannot ignore. You see I ignore ignorance, it is the easiest way to put up with it. I have people to go out of their way to get a closer look, but, in general I have not had any real problems. I mean how many people are going to want to get the crap beat out of them by a 6'2" 210Lbs. Transgender person. LOL, I am not a violet person, but they don't know that.

Hi Everyone,

I first want to say I am sorry I cannot answer everyone who posts in my profile. I do want to say I read each one and I thank you all for your comments. You are all true friends, even if we all don't agree with what others say, that is life Right?

I am so Proud to be Amy and being a Receptionist at my Church. Thongs are going great and I am learning more everyday and the days just fly by as I am having so much fun being my true self. My whole life I have been trying to find true happiness and I have found it now as Amy. The people I come in contact everyday are so nice. I love having doors opened for me, and for people talking to me that never would have with me as a male. The world is so much different.

I do want to thank everyone of my friends here and I believe you are all my friends, for being here. You have let me realize I am not crazy and I am not the only one who crossdresses. If it were not for this website, I might still be in the closet, or scared to be my true self.

Thank you and remember GOD DOES LOVE YOU!!!

Amy, you go girl! Another thread nearby asks "Is anyone from Florida?" In case you have not seen it. Reading it carefully, I see the second post mentions Bradenton area. But reading closer it appears she moved out of that area 3 years ago.
