View Full Version : Do you shave your pits?

:D

Hey, it's not a weighty matter. I was just curious. How many of you "girls" shave your armpits?

I don't. I don't think it would go over well with my wife if I did. And the only reason to shave them would be so that I could go sleeveless. And if I were to go sleeveless, I'd probably have to shave my arms and my hands. It just wouldn't work. That's one reason all my piccies have long sleeves.

How 'bout you?

My SO shaves, so do I. There's nothing to be ashamed of. I also noticed it reduces the strong body odor, that usually does not smell good. I also like the feeling the shaved arm pits give, so I would not turn back anymore. Plus it looks better than that little hair I got down there anyway. Blond armpits just looks bad, unless its very very short.

I have naturally light brown hair so the pit hair doesn't really show up unless wet. Still I can't stand any "monkey hair" on my body.

I do. Tremendous help with regard to odor that deodorant wasn't a lot of help with. The lack of hair means lack of a warm moist place for bacteria to grow.

None of the above, but I trim mine so they don't hang out at the wrong time

have to shave because most my dresses and tops are short sleeve or sleeveless or as many times in my photo sessions I end up "topless" :)

I've shave my armpits a few times, not on a regular basis. Last summer when I decided to go out in a swimming suit, I shaved them. I like the look and the reduction of odor.

I shave my pits about once every other month. My body hair doesn't grow that fast. It's the hair on my face and head that grows like I'm eating marical grow.

I have never shaved my pits. The hair on my arm pits is very light and I really have no need to shave them. I have actually been accused of shaving my armpits by my brother because I have hardly any hair there.

Hi Marla,

Yes I do. Along with the rest of my body too .... all of it. Arms, hands, what little I have on my chest and abdomen, and of course my legs. Marla checks my back too from time to time as sometimes I get a little growing there. I'm very fortunate that my wife actually like me like this, as she will tell you, hairy men of any kind, gross her out.

Darla L

Sometimes I will keep them shaved then I will go for months not shaving them. A lot of it depends on my work schedule. It isn't uncommon for me to work 14 hr days 7 days a week for weeks on end. During those times I just want to shower, shave my face and grab a bite to eat before hitting the sack!

Absolutely. I perspire heavily and it helps with the amount and as others have said, the body odor.

I shave my armpits, because I've also found that my anti-persperant works a lot better with skin contact, rather than through hair.

I shave sometimes but I should do it a little more periodically. I hadn't noticed the odor reduction when I did it before, but I will certainly check now (and it makes complete sense as well!)

So- thanks to the sisters I have here, I went and re-shaved them, though it tends to be a little uncomfortable unless it's smooth. Good reason to keep it smooth I guess! :)

Yes-I keep them shaved. I,too, have found hairless pits to have less odor. I also use Secret deodorant. Men's deodorants don't seem to be as effective in fighting odor.

I have been shaving mine since August. I really like having them shaved. I haven't had a problem with BO since I started shaving them. I epilate my chest, my wife epilates my back, I trim my arms and shave my legs. I love the feeling of smooth skin.

Epilate / shave depending if I am in a hurry or not. Epilate lasts up to 6 weeks. It definately helps with hygene when active in a hot enviroment;).

Haven't started shaving the pits yet, but plan to soon. I shave a little more of my body each time. When I shave something new, I'll wait a few days to make sure that area doesn't itch to bad.
Right now I'm shaved everywhere between the abdomin and just below the knees.

I do. Tremendous help with regard to odor that deodorant wasn't a lot of help with. The lack of hair means lack of a warm moist place for bacteria to grow.

Same here but I don't actually shave them. I use clippers for my hair, what's left of it and I just trim everything else while I'm at it. I get really hot (heat) down below if I don't keep that trimmed as well. Then I get hot (the good kind) afterward with silky things on.:daydreaming: I do keep my girls shaved, but I leave a triangle of hair down my cleavage. I used to have firm pecks that have gotten soft over the years and now I have a natural almost B cup.

I've epilated everywhere below the neck where hair used to grow. Did so well that I only have to shave occassionally now - like twice a year, to get rid of minor hair regrowth. Hardly any hair regrowth and I love the feeling.

01-11-2009, 05:16 AM
I usually shave my pits, legs & chest from about September to January about once every 2 weeks.
Somehow, this year I only did it once (in October). Pits still don't really need doing again, probably because I have done it so much in previous years.
There is not usually a lot on my chest so I could probably get away with shaving there all year round & nobody would notice the difference.

I've been shaving underarms for a couple of years now. It feels good and it's more hygienic than hair. I don't suppose it's any more feminine because the trend for underarm hair on women varies from country to country.
It's not necessary for my dressing most of the time because I only wear sleeveless tops in the warmest weather (and that's not very often in the UK).

Marla!

What a question for a prim and proper girl to ask!:heehee:

I must admit, although I have considered it, I have not yet had the experience. I have shaved my legs once and that was remarkable and one day I'll be where I can do it again and then I'll probably shave my arm pits too. I have very light hair in my arm pits anyway so it doesn't really matter too much either way.

One day tho....yeah...one day when I'm strolling through the hot desert sand, in a tank top and short shorts...I will!:daydreaming:

Chloe Renee
01-11-2009, 10:31 AM
Yes I do quite frequently. Even if there is no dressing planned in the immediate future. I find that I seem "cleaner" longer that way.
Plus unlike keeping my complete body shaved it only takes a couple seconds.

It gets HOT here! And so keeping those hairs, in non ventilated places, closely trimmed is pretty important! I can so tell the difference in the onset of the pre-odoriferous condition  of my underarm when just a few hairs begin to grow!

Same with my crotch.... Here in Vegas, it gets pretty warm - but almost always it is dry, thank god :battingeyelashes:, and so the the dreaded damp underarm and crotch don't happen very often. We have gambling, prostitution, vices of all kinds, but people keep moving here... it must be the dryness that attracts them. :heehee:

Rickie :daydreaming:

I got no need to shave my back, but it should be possible. I have not trouble creaming my back with body cream or with soup when I wash myself. Though, it still needs some flexibility to be able to do it. Occasionally or while doing it, checking the condition on of the back.
The smarter option is probably, someone else does it instead. They would have not trouble at all to shave back as well.

I shave them for more than just being Kandis. I perspire quite bad, and have found that if I have shaved underarms, there is LESS chance of there being any odor due to the perspiration. The reason for that is there is no hair for the odor to cling to and therefore less chance of a BO problem.

I've been shaving my underarms since 1999, while on an asian business trip. The first time i shaved them, i was in Taipei. :) They'd been itching me for some reason, so i used it as an excuse. Oddly enough, it helped a lot.

When i returned home, i showed my wife, and told her they felt better, so i was going to keep doing it. It didn't bother her, so i've been doing it ever since.

A few years later, the family was on a vacation to Aruba. I was laying down on a catamaran ride with my hands behind my head, when one of my daughters asked, "Dad, why did you shave your armpits?"

I said, "Because i like them this way."

And believe it or not, that was all there was to the conversation.

I had a lung collapse a few years ago and they had to repair it surgically. And before they could they had a nurse come in and shave my left pit. I felt like a clipped bird, (you have to clip the feathers of one wing to keep barnyard foul from flying over the fence), so I shaved the right pit. And have kept them both shaved ever since, and as has been mentioned, helps with BO and deodorant application.

shave 'em ever day, as with the others, it helps with odor as well as being feminine.

Truth be told, if I stopped all feminine things, dresssing, under dressing, body hair shaving etc... I would not for any reason go back to having underarm hair. It is SO much better without it, and I mean that in a gender neutral way.

Yes. Allthough for now I am ceasing to shave anything, save for my face, since Indiana's unpredictable warm and cold weather conflicts are only a couple months away. That way the hair will be regrown in time so I can wear warm weather appropriate attire, and no one will notice shaved legs or pits.

I was always nervous about shaving my pits but when I dresses there was teltale hair sticking out. I finally got up enough nerve to use the trimmer on my electric razor to take off the excess. Let me assure you, noone will ever know that you cut off about 3 inches of underarm hair and have it down to about 1 inch. Buy the way guys it is more comfortable to do it. Should have done it years ago.

Periodically...usually when there will be a period when it is unlikely to be noticed by someone else. Otherwise I keep it pretty well groomed which means short and thin, just enough for plausible deniability. I have a medical examination coming up in the not to distant future which will include being felt up in the arm pits so I'm presently growing hair back until after the exam.

Someone asked how i shave my back. Well, it is not real easy. I have long arms, which helps, but, it is awkward. I use a battery operated hair trimmer, and go over and over, switching hands, and sides, or using a regular razor, in the shower. Sometimes get cut that way.

Mine are waxed when I get my full-leg waxing and facials, every 6 weeks, at a local Day Spa Salon. My wax technician is lovely and always throws in a couple of extras: armpit waxing, eyebrow shaping, and last time, an eyelash tint. I get other services at this Day Spa Salon including massages every other Friday, pedicures, and I have my hair done every 4 weeks. The women there are terrific and very nice to me. It is very helpful to be polite and respectful, and tipping well doesn't hurt either. I love hairless armpits!

I have done it maybe two times. I liked it on one hand because it does reduce body odor and makes bathing quciker, but I notice some stickiness, even with deodorant. I supose a powder based deodorant would help, but he biggest reason I don't is I don't want to raise suspicions with my wife. And, in the summer, and we have a long summer here, I don't want others to see if I'm out swimming. Just don't need complications in my life.

I shave everything but my arms. My SO doesnt really like body hair, I am lucky there I guess. It's more her OCD of finding hair in the shower I think.
Plus I have dark body hair and very Irish skin, and the hair doesn't have an even flow to it, it's sparse here and thick there so it looks like I've had the mange or something.

Absolutely! I shave my armpits on a regular basis. I don't have a lot to remove there, so it doesn't take any time to do it (other than avoiding a skin tag under one arm), and no one seems to notice or care. It looks better, it feels better and it's easier to apply deodorant.

Yes I shave my arm pits!!! I very much dislike body hair. I have been shaving my arm pits and chest for years. And actually it appears to be the in thing with some of the younger croud.

I shave my pits also, love to shave them. since I started shaving my armpits it helps to keep B.O. away when when it is hot.

Add me to the ones who shave everything. Sometimes I keep a little V-shaped patch of pubic hair because that is quite girlie too.

Some times I do shave them all, depends on the occasion. Most of the time I only trim it and shave the part that shows when sleeve less.
I also keep every thing else trimmed, I mean every thing. I feel more well maintained and clean.

I shave if I'm getting dressed up, otherwise, no.

I seem to be the odd egg out -- I shave them in the winter when I shave my legs etc. Otherwise no. I am quite comfortable in both male and female modes.
