Good morning,

I have taken a big step and scheduled my first therapy session on Monday. I was just wondering what to expect in that first visit. I have for years thought of myself as transgendered but was always afraid to test the waters so to speak to make my life more peaceful. I feel that that this appointment is the first step in a more joyful and peaceful life. Any comments on what to expect in this appointment and following appointments would greatly be appreciated. Also, I will give an update after the appointment.

be honest with both yourself and your therapist

don't be afraid to NOT go anymore if you feel the therapist is not helping you

i found therapy to help ALOT and i hope it does for you too.

The first session she just wanted some background info and about the first time I wanted to be female. It was a get to know each other. Of the next few meetings she wanted to know my deep feelings about my issues family, friends and she had some by the book questions you know say a word and what is my response. I really do like to go for me it was the first time I ever was able to talk to someone and she put me in contact with aesthetician and let her know what I was doing and she started helping me with makeup and other things to help me pass. And got hormones started for me. The therapist really helped me to start the ball rolling in the right direction I am taking notes on my journey I am seeing her weekly and look forward to it..... Good luck relax and enjoy it I did

Mine says "Well, theres nothing broken with you (speaking about what my parents say). These meetings are for you to voice yourself and for me to help, Jess." He is a very well educated man with a lot of experience in this field. He's a great asset and has helped immensely. Get to know your therapist, they're a life saver.
