Hi Girls,
I have been wanting a new pair of boots and saw some pointy ones in a Fredrick's of Hollywood ad. Do you go up 2 sizes as we usually do from our male size or 3 sizes because of the pointy toe?
Any advice is helpful.

Hi Darby,
If American made, boots (even pointy toes) run "true-to-size", by which I mean that if you're a mens sz9, you will be comfortable in a womens sz10.5/11. European styles run smaller and I usually stick with two sizes larger. I don't think that you'll require 3 sizes up...that'd be too much.
Then again, depending on how much walking/dancing you'll be doing...comfort plays a role (I tend to suffer a bit: I'm a mens9 but often snuggle into womens10 boots).
Send us a pic once you've got them on!

I think I'd read somewhere that you need to go up 2-2 1/2 sizes to find a your female shoe size. I've got a 10.5 miself, and can snuggle into a 12, but also have some pennyloafers that feel great at size 13 women's, not too big and not too small.
I also read that if you have a rather extreme foot angle from the high heel, to go up one more size, as your feet slide forward a little.
I've never actually gone down to the shoe store to see what I'd be, but from experience I'd say go with a 12 1/2 to 13 to be sure.
I recently ordered some 5" patent leather pumps to go with my ensemble, and I followed the site guidelines and went with a size 13. I'll let you know how it went, since I seem to recall that you and I have similar shoe size problems, and if you get yours before I do, make sure to let me know how you like your boots.
