I had to go to Detroit this week and I drove instead of flying, so I thought I would bring my bag of goodies.
Thank God there were some pantyhose in my bag because it is realy cold up here. Normally when I travel I fly. Also I do not dress drab while working but I made the exception this trip.

Count me in too as a lover of pantyhose in winter. They have been a godsend this year.

I found this out the first time I shaved my legs! I was so cold, and it was only about 40 degrees, but I'm used to having a fur coat. I put on some panty hose and I was so much warmer. Of course, this year I also have some flannel lined jeans, those are a godsend.

I love panty hose and it was one of the things my late wife discovered in my closet. Now I wear them virtually daily. They are warm and they feel so good under my jeans when at work. Keli

They have kept me warm during these Florida cold fronts! I don't know how you northern ladies survive in all that snow and ice. I have to put on a jacket just to think about it! :D

You know it's cold when you see trucks on the side of the road because their fuel gelled up. The snow crunches under your feet. Try this... Hanes Silk Reflections with Winter Silks long johns under the ol' blue jeans. Be sure to wear a thong. Add a silky teddy and Winter Silks top. Cold? What cold? :)

It's been too cold and too much snow to dress like I like too lately. Im waiting for it to warm up then maybe I can have some girl fun again. I usually like the cooler weather since I can wear some nice things that won't work in summer but at 40  below you need fur lined everything.

Yes, it's been cold in Texas too. I've had to wear my "long underwear" almost every day!

I have been underdressing to the extreme with the cold weather we have been having! Pantyhose and leggings, cableknit tights sometimes all types of tops, and girl sweaters. I find that a bra is actually warm:D

I wear them most days especially in the winter here in Chicago are. We have had some extreme cold and lots of snow, global warming is the cause of it all. If we did not have global warming it would be really cold. If you can detect some sarcasm you would be 100% correct.

With this cold snap they are a definite plus to have on. Keep you warm outside and don't get too hot inside.

Pantyhose are perfect for this cool weather we are having in FL. So nice to sit on the couch and not be all covered up with a blanket that is too hot until you get cold. If only it were like this all year!

Yes madam , you are so right I never go anywhere without my pantyhose , as yopu say they keep you so warm and help you feel and be more womanly in times when it's not possible to be in full dress , long live pantyhose or tights as we call them over here in England . Plus it's colder here :heehee:

I wear tights, which are heavier and warmer than pantyhose, There was a time when I spent a lot of time outdoors in winter, my legs were always warm.

Pantie hose under my suit on the real cold days is such a blessing and there are times when I will layer a pair of womens thermal bottoms over the pantie hose to get a little warmer. Feels real good.

As much as I love pantyhose, I prefer thigh highs. My legs stay warm and they give me more freedom than pantyhose.

When it's cold I have even more desire to dress glam. I like hose of any type it's cold - even with a dress or a skirt.

Pantyhose are my "second skin"..... everything else is the accessory that goes with them. :) but when its 90+ here in FL I will go without during the day.
Here is an interisting article from Renee Zellweger about a movie and how pantyhose saved her....

It's been cold up here in Vermont, but I've noticed that many women who work in office are still wearing short skirts or dresses to work, even if it means being cold to and from work.
Though it has been less than 20 degrees for more than a few weeks, I've seen many women walking around with long coats, scarves, hats, gloves... but bare legs.
I took advantage of this 'natural disguise' the other day and went out for a walk downtown. It was noon, so there were plenty of other people on the streets going to or from lunch. I wore a hat, scarf and glasses which pretty much covered my face, then a turtleneck and above the knee skirt, which was only an inch or so longer than my overcoat.
Looking at myself in the mirror before going out, I saw the overcoat, a few inches of skirt, then nothing but pantyhose covered leg all they way down to my 3" heels. :)
I was out for a half hour or so just walking on the sidewalks. My legs stayed surprisingly warm even though they were bare in the 10 degree weather except for the layer of suntan pantyhose. I never got a 2nd glance from anybody who passed me on the sidewalks.
This time of year, I pretty much wear tights every day ('just my size' microfiber tights... If they ever stop making them, I'm going to be upset!). They come in especially handy when outside for winter sports, that extra layer can make all the difference between chilly and comfortable.
