Ok so here's the story. Stopped in to a local pub last night dressed drab and 2 of the old guys laughed to each other with one saying "I thought that was a woman at first", the other said "me too" and they giggled like school girls. Then one of them said "cut your hair", I said "maybe when it gets down to my ass". Sheesh I thought we got over this shit in the 70's lol. Made me mad at first, then I thought :heehee: I must be doing ok with the look.

Don't get mad, I love to play with it, like you I have long hair cut feminine and get mistaken often, I love to see I am taken as female, without the makeup, shows my mannerisms are the confincing factor.

I have found many occassions when I am in my version of drab now that I get comments when entering a restaurant with my girlfriend or my transitioning room mate - hello ladies how can I help you or follow me to your table or whatever. I suspect that as I get deeper and deeper into the feminine persona, adding to that the long hair, longer nails, plucked eyebrows, diminished facial hair and more colourful clothing that I am exuding enough confusion in my presentation that they think for a brief instant I am female until they look a little closer or hear me talk.

I did not realize that that was happening but I guess as you live it more you start to change in subtle ways that give clues that the public pick up on. It is a wonderful feeling actually.

Being significantly follically challenged, I doubt that will ever happen to me!

I think you have lovely hair :) I'd love to have mine as long as yours. I think you dealt with these guys very well. There's gonna be ignorant people wherever we go but I'm really happy that you felt good about initially being taken for a woman even though you were in guy mode!

This is how I think about myself too if I get this happen to me when I'm out with my wife and I'm in (girly) boy mode. The last time we were stood right in front of a SA in a store when we were at the checkout and she still referred to us both as "ladies". My wife and I couldn't believe it - to us, ok I was dressed very feminine, but clearly I was a guy - still, no problem for me, I loved it! :D

Ok ladies and gents, I guess there are 2 things I needed to clarify.

1. These guys knew who I was, it was really more of a putdown comment

2. My avatar hair is a wig and although I have grown mine out and just in the last couple weeks had my stylist heavily highlight it, it's not that long ....yet:D
