Wonderful news - want to share it / Update

As of last tuesday, my name is now officially - Susan Elizabeth Rye - :):D:love:

On January 4th, I filed papers with the Court for a name change, on the 27th I went before the Judge and he allowed the name change, there were no problems with it. I am so happy now. My wife is thrilled with the name change and insists that everyone we know calles me "Susan." I got my certified copies and am going to town to get name changes on all my records today.

Just wanted to sdhare this with all of you. If any of you that live in Utah are interested in how I did it, I will gladly share info with you.

Yes, it was quick, thank goodness too. Now all I need to do is get a new driver's license and a change to my SSN#, hope that one is quick too. The DL will be easy too.

Thanks to all for the wonderfull comments and support. It's a great feeling to finally be able to legally use the name I felt I had always had. Just discovered that I can also change the M to an F on my drivers license here in Utah and all I need is a statement from my therapist that I am transitioning!!! Going for that tomorrow!!! Then my license will match 100%

Spent the day going around to all my dr.'s getting my name changed on all my medical records now that I have been able to get my name legally changed to "Susan Elizabeth".

But the best part of ther day was when I went to the Drivers License office and gave them all the paperwork and got my new drivers license - it not only has my new name on it, but it also has the "F" on it instead of the dreaded "M" it used to have.

I discovered that here in Utah, one can have the gender marker changed with only a letter from a dr. or therapist - FANTASTIC, WONDERFULL!!!
