Thanks for the news, Lauren. They also aired a four or five part series not long ago entitled, "Sex Change Hospital," which was very good and well worth looking for.

In Alcholics Annonamous when we meet somebody on the street and want to no if they are a member, we ask if they are a freind of Dr Bobs "one of the cofounders of AA".
so should we start asking if others are a freind of Dr Bowers?
Thanks for the info, I will watch it. have seen some other great shows on the great Dr.
Saw on tv a show called "Prayers for Bobby" was a great one also. was on acceptance of lifestyles.

I watched the extremely graphic UK series "Sex Change Hospital" with Marcy. I must say that I was less than impressed with her. A girl in episode 6 had mild hemophilia, and Marcy knew that. Everybody in the hospital was OK with performing SRS on her, and they had her fly out. When the hospital director decided at the last minute that it was a bad idea to operate on her at that hospital, Marci didn't even try to stand up for her. She just basically said "Sorry about your luck," and didn't offer any apology whatsoever for getting her hopes up then totally wasting her time. Marcy just totally blew her off and couldn't even be bothered to discuss it. She offered her absolutely no hope.

Marcy of all people should've stood up for her and said that being TS -- like depression -- is a condition that left untreated kills many people (from suicide) and at least offered to at some point perform the surgery at a hospital that was comfortable working on hemophiliacs. She obviously didn't care about the girl. She admitted that the girl's hemophilia was "very minimal," but then just gave some nonsensical excuse about not having enough people at the hospital to cover all the shifts. She then made some weird statement looking for sympathy, saying that the only time in the future she could do the surgery was in a few months, but that she had scheduled a trip to see her father (who hated her but was dying of cancer). She kept her waiting for a few more days, trying to pass all responsibility to other people that she was supposedly going to have some sort of meeting with, but but never talked to her again and never apologized.

And while we all like a little humor, Marcy made some strange and inappropriate comments for the camera while she had severed penises in her hand.

I recently met Dr. Bowers and listened to her at a seminar. She does have a great sense of humor and I can see where some would take her comments with a wince instead of a laugh. I'm not advocating anyone go to her. That's a personal decision and you have to choose your Dr. using all information possible. It's good for us to discuss this as we need all the help we can get in making this decision. Personally I've heard nothing but praises from those going to Dr. Brassard. I understand their setup there is phenominal. I think watching the show about Marcy will be very interesting and hopefully a positive show for people to help understand what we're all going through.
