My First Class En Femme

I took my first ballet and tap class en femme with Lady Ellen of LaFemme in her Valley Forge Pennsylvania location. It was wonderful and she is a very very good and patient instructor.
My tap class which I took individually was very difficult learning all the taps, toe stamps, heel stamps and brushes. However, it was very liberating and I was dressed in a black long sleeve ladies leotard, flesh color fishnet dance tights with contrasting black back seams and mary jane style tap shoes. Lady Ellen gave me homework for our next session so I have a lot of practice to do over the next 10 days.

Next it was ballet with another gurl in a joint lesson. Here I was in a long sleeve pink leotard, flesh color sheer to waist Cervin Pantyhose with brown back seam and pyramid style heel, pink slippers and a a dark brown wig. Lady Ellen pulled my hair back in a ponytail with a pink ribbon and I wore just a little bit of lipstick. First we stretched. Then we did Plies as well as tendus, round de jeans, turns, port de bras and grand plies. We also went across the floor on our tippy toes to build up our arches. It was all so wonderful that the hour went very fast.

I am scheduled to return in about 10 days. Please know Lady Ellen has very reasonable rates and if we could get more gurls it would be most beneficial as a larger class would lend itself to a bigger studio with more room. This location accomodates about 3 gurls at a time. In any event it was not my intent to steal your thunder Jamie but if any of you ladies really want to experience dance as a women in a caring and supportive environment either in northern NJ or southeastern PA then this is a wonderful opportunity.

Glad you finally got to take your dance classes, Martha. Brings back fond memories of my jazz/ballet classes though I think the experience of being dressed in leotards and tights with real ladies felt different, better. Hope you can find a class like that to join sometime.
I would also like to see pics of you in class.

Thanks for all your comments. I do agree Randi that it is more fun to be dressed en femme and be with other women. The teacher of course is female. I would also enjoy an all female class but thats the thing. Most if not all ladies ballet class are not openly recruiting TG's so I suppose dancing en femme in a CD type class is a second best thing. However u bring up a great point about asking the teacher to arrange the class with other women.

Martha, I did not mean to imply that I was taking class enfemme. In fact I was taking the class with my girlfriend so I was of course in male mode as her BOYfriend. But that did not stop me as a guy from wearing leotards and tights beginning with the first class, usually my own, but sometimes some of hers. But that's another story. The ladies encouraged me to be in leotards and tights from then on. When I borrowed hers, I wore them with the leotard over the tights the same as the ladies. And after the first time did the same wearing my own. My usual attire was a black short sleeve front zip v-neck leotard over black tights and black ballet slippers or jazz shoes. Later I added a burgundy lycra short sleeve thong leotard with a tank unitard over it which my gf gave me as a gift, making me rather obligated to wear it. Looking in the big mirror at me in my outfit dancing along with the ladies in their sexy leotards and tights--priceless.

I took classes five years ago with all GG's. There I was in a leotard and tights from day one.
Other than the teacher who tried to sell me on a more masculine unitard look the other ladies did not care the least and I too felt like one of the girls. The only downer was another man who was in the class wearing a biketard and tights under that. It is much more fun being the only guy on the class. However, I always said if i go back it had to be totally en femme and its much easier to have a transformation specialist as the ballet teacher who has dance training rather than "schocking' the dance class as an en femme participant. In this situation the teacher would have to totally clear it for me to go and be comfortable. I was so pleased the way in the new class she put my hair in a pony tail. Just a little bit of lipstick was the perfect touch.

There are none to buy right now as the class is small and the studio is in a converted barn and quite small. If the class grows she may rent space in a larger studio and perhaps carry dancewear. I have ordered mine on line for a number of years although the last one I bought was in a Danskin store in a small outlet center.

If you want suggestions on attire or more info on the class do not hesitate to send me a private e mail. In fact this week we picked up another gurl so we now have three. I plan to wear to class my pink leotard and pink seamed mesh capezio #8 full fashion tights and pink slippers on thursday. After class I am doing an extended one on one lesson and will change into a black leotard and leg avenue sheer to waist suntan pantyhose with corset style back seam, black ballet shoes and black chiffon dance skirt.

Go for it its so much fun. I can't think of a better way to express my feminine side.
The class I attend is in a warm and caring environment. I am going thursday and will let u all know how it went. I am picking out my dance outfits today. I especially luv putting on my pink ballet shoes and pointing my toes.

I had my second ballet class with Lady Ellen of LeFemme Finishing School. It was wonderful.
I wore a Pink Danskin Scoup Neck Leotard, Seamed Capezio Mesh Transition Tights and Pink Slippers. Lady Ellen was quite fashionable in a black scoup neck leotard, black tights, pink dance skirt and pink slippers. There was quite a bit of homework and I was tested on foot and arm positions and turns that I had to practice in between classes. This week we did barre, stretching, tendus, small jumps and turns as we went across the floor. We also work on stretching our arches by tippy toeing back and forth on the dance floor. Finallly we worked on balance which is so important. I am dancing next week and I will report back to you ladies. Best Wishes, MARTHA

Hi Ladies:

I was hoping more of you would be interested in joining Lady Ellen's LeFemme Ballet Class. I have had about 6 classes now. She is a great teacher and things are progressing well. Location is very private and classes are limited to 2 students right now unless she secures a bigger space. I am having trouble with spins and turns but otherwise I am catching on. We do spins, turns, tendus, arabesque, plies, round de jeans, jumps, etc. This is real ballet. We are rehearsing for a fall performance en femme in front of a TG audience so its not too late to get in on the action. Classes are very reasonable cost wise and she does group or private lessons in North NJ and Southeastern PA.


Attire is up to you. Last class I wore a maroon leotard by Capezio, seamed pantyhose (for tights) by leg avenue and black slippers by Block. OMG I think I got another runner! Make sure you all keep your seams straight.

Great idea a dance class with women in leotards who enjoy men in leotards or tights and hose

One of my most treasured memories - being complimented on how I look in tights in front of a class of leotard-clad women. Then going for a drink next door with five of them, all of us still in tights and leotards. Then walking one beautiful dancer home, tracksuits over our leotards and tights. Then looking through her leotard collection, borrowing one, and wearing it to the following week's class...and being complimented again, another drink next door, then home again...
