Weirdest feeling.
Tonight was a meeting of the Civil War Roundtable group I belong to. After the meeting, it being pi day (3-14), I decided to stop by the store and get a small pie. I always wear a uniform coat to meetings, and it was too cool out to be outside without a coat, so I go in wearing my dress confederate frock coat, do my brief shopping and head out.
What struck me, though, was how self-conscious I was wearing a confederate coat in that setting (or almost any setting other than a civil war event). I realized that I have hardly been self-conscious at all when I would go shopping at a similar store as Geena. Maybe that's what is meant by blending.

Maybe it?s because you?re wearing gray in deep blue Northern territory. You must be a Southern belle at heart. OBTW, I?ve never heard of Pi day but that?s pretty clever.

Funny as I was reading your post I was thinking exactly the same as Collette.
That could be like Sandi going into a 7-11

That's a great comparison Crissy! Lol
Where I am, the store would have comped you the pie...

Geena, was it the historical uniform in general or the confederate uniform and it?s implications Re racism that made you feel self-conscious?
