Proof: I'm not the only man who wears toenail polish

Some background. I outed myself to my GG PT therapist several weeks ago. I showed her some pics of Steffi. She said that she was OK with it, but she acted uncomfortable. So I didn't bring it up again. But, for my first two appointments in December, the was wearing a reddish finger nail polish similar to what I was wearing on my toes

When I went to PT last week, I showed my PT my toes. The she showed me a pic of her BF with lavender toenail polish that matched her lavender fingernail polish. She said, "Sometimes he'll do something just to make me happy. It turns out that they went to a pedicure together. She was also going to a friend's New Year's Eve party where 3 of the other guys attending were planning on wearing painted toes, although only two of them were going to wear it openly, i.e., not hide it under their socks.

So as you walk through the mall, try to imagine which guys walking by a painted toes hidden under their socks.

The I asked her if she ever put makeup on him, even just lipstick. I mentioned what a wonderful experience it was kissing a girl wearing lipstick. Don't ask me how I know. The answer is classified above your need to know. LOL.

She said thae he wasn't that kind of guy. I just wonder if I planted a seed in her mind.

I think it is becoming a lot more common. And I think the acceptability increases (and shock decreases) as it becomes more common. I had a family member call me out for mine being painted but he has not made any further comments. His initial comments were more joking than anything anyway. And my more immediate family knows that my nails are painted simply because I choose not to hide it. I walk around barefoot all the time at home and even at Christmas I chose to not hide anything around family since it was at my house and I like being barefoot. I am getting a pedicure this weekend and I am sure there will be some questions about what color I get. It is normal because I choose to make it normal. Even my brother has gotten his nails painted a color and I think mine being painted played a role in that since I am pretty sure (though not completely sure) he doesn't do anything else that would be considered more feminine.

When you talk about imagining other guys with nails painted, I am definitely one you don't need to imagine. I often wear sandals (yes, even in the current weather) simply because I like the cold on my feet and sandals are easy to slip in and out of. I think you are right though that imagining others with the nails painted can be a bit of a boost for anyone else who wants theirs painted too. I know I don't have mine solely because of Natalie; I just happen to like it.

I have previously mentioned that I work at a concert venue. I see younger male patrons (including employees) wearing nail polish on a regular basis - usually green, blue, or gray are the common colors. We did have a traveling merchandise guy who had pink, sparkly nails which looked like acrylics. I talked to him about how pretty they were. It is more common with the men who I would guess to be under 40 years old. So, if their fingernails are polished, I would assume their toenails are also colorful. Most of the guys did not dress as CDers outwardly (although we do have our share of CDers). They just liked painted nails, I suppose.

Next time any of you go to a concert, play, ballet, or rock show, pay attention to the younger guys fingernails.

It took me a while to get brave enough to show off my pedicure. I was at a friend's party wearing sandals showing my toes when another guy showed his to me. Seems that he had a friend who died unexpectedly, and he was wearing blue toenail polish. So several guys polished theirs for his memorial services.

My wife treats me to a pedicure once a month and I always get color on my toes

As pointed out by Char,most men that wear nail varnish are under 40 years old. I compromise. Last time I had a pedicure I had clear varnish on my toenails.

I have had two pedicures, both were part of his and her spa days with my spouse. Got my nails painted both times. My wife was a little shocked the first time, the manicurist smiled but was not bothered. She mentioned that other men have done it as well. I think I spent more time than normal picking a colour though.

I have also had a pedicure at a spa with my partner. When it came time for us to pick the polish, the gal working on my feet asked if would prefer a clear coat. I chose a hooker red! The women in the waiting area between the pedi room and the pool checked out my toes as I sauntered in and found a lounge chair to relax in. They lowered their book or magazine for a glance then went back to reading. That was it. But I was sure proud of my toenails!

If I'm paying for a pedicure, I might as well get color. It costs the same and is much more attractive.

But, I get overwhelmed with the color choices at the salon. I usually pick out my color at the drug store and hand it to nail tech as soon as I sit in the pedi chair. That avoids any awkward conversation

I don't always go for the traditional colors. There was a time when I would expose my painted toes at yoga class. I would also talk with the yoga instructors about their painted toes. With one instructor, I asked her what color her toes were painted and she told me. We discussed her choice of color vs my choice. With another instructor, we agreed to meet at the next class with our toes painted "ocean blue" as best as we could.

When I was at the salon getting my toes painted blue, I was sitting next to an older (50 something) GG woman also getting a pedicure. She said, "You really rock that blue." I said that, "You could rock that blue also." She replied that blue is not a good look for her. Afterwards, I thought that I could be brave and do blue because I hadn't been subjected to a lifetime of "body shaming".

We always bring our own polish when we get our pedicures.

I am lucky enough to go for pedicures with my daughters. My late wife got me into pedis when I had a knee replacement in 2015. Now, at 77yrs old, I still go with the girls. One day when they were at my house, I complained about the discolouration on my nails and how I felt reluctant to show off my feet in flip flops and other open shoes. My youngest went home to her stash of polishes, brought one out and coloured my nails herself. Apart from this unannounced action being very emotional for me, it was the start of something bigger, because now, I get them coloured by the nail tech during our pedicures. It wasn't a loud colour, just a muted pink, but at least it made my feet look better.

I’ve been painting the toes for a few years now, fairly regularly. I work in a very male-heavy industry, sometimes I chuckle thinking about my painted toes inside my work boots and wonder how many of my co-workers have the same. I vary the colors, sometimes going loud and obnoxious and others something more conservative. Helps that my wife has been collecting polishes from small, indie brands for quite a few years now and I have access to her stash. Occasionally I tell her to pick out a color, something random that I may not have chosen on my own. A pedi is in my future for sure, maybe in the spring.

I have been doing color for a few years now. Again, I am paying for the pedicure I might as well get the full service. Last 2 colors, 1) Deep Blue, I did not really like it once it was on This color: Red moving slightly to the purple.

I wear sandals often out and about and I do not even think about it. This IS CAlifornia and anything goes.

For a while years ago, I was getting regular pedis. Made my ugly toes look so much better. One time I got a ruby red. Such a delicious color. It was a deeper red that really shone in the light. And getting a pedi is so pampering.

I also live in California and have been wearing women?s sandals usually toe loop Birkenstocks for many years and my toes are hooker red (OPI Big Apple Red). I do not have a girl mode, just my normal feminine male mode. I get a lot of compliments on my perfectly pedicured red toenails. Many people tell me that I have toes like a girl, which is a wonderful compliment. If feels to good to have feminine feet with red toenails that are always on display in sandals.

My toenails are horrid and would probably gag the person doing the pedicure, but I would like to try a pedicure sometime. It sounds like a really nice experience :)

I have my toes painted all the time but always covered unless I am out en femme or at home with just my wife. It?s a fantastic look and feeling, it reminds me to be more feminine when in male mode. Which in turn according to my wife makes me more relaxed and chilled.

Don't be afraid to show you pretty toes in public. I am a feminine male and my red toenails are always on display in women's sandals. I get many compliments. Many males are getting pedicures with painted toenails. Google it and you will see.

I, who is a 72 year old man, wear nail varnish (polish) on my finger and toe nails. Since this not the season (winter) to wear sandals, I don't maintain the nail varnish on my toenails.
