Cleanup in Aisle 7

Well, maybe 5, 6 and 8 as well. Actually more like clean up in the bathroom, bedroom, living room and where ever else I may have dropped some girl things. After having my wife away for a few days, and me grabbing stuff out of hiding, there tends to be girl stuff all over. I am now doing due diligence and scouring the house for any evidence. A makeup sponge, an odd high heel, you know the drill.

Any of us that have been caught, know how easy it is to leave something behind. I thought the outer day, maybe I need a small RFID tag on my stuff, so I could scan for remnants. I?ve been checking and double checking, but like proof reading, it is easy to miss something. I?m sure my wife suspects I?ve been dressing while she is gone, but wants not to know about it and items left out just rile her.

Any of you girls been there? Did you get caught? Any techniques for making sure you capture all evidence?

I know that mad rush all too well. Double, triple,quadruple, check and still feel like you forgot something. I try not to spread things out too far. I keep everything in one area when it comes out ,although that strategy falls apart sometimes.

I had a press on nail fall out of a package that I wasn't aware of. My granddaughter was crawling around and found it. A cold few days with my wife afterwards. Check, recheck and get down on hands and knees. Open every drawer even if you don't think you used it.

I might suggest really thorough vacuum cleaning, if that's an option, every inch of the floor. Bobby pins or similar are easily overlooked.

In your stash go item per item and look for everything you used. If you don't find something, start looking, where were you using them.

And like when you leave hotel, check every single surface, every single drawer, every single nook and cranny, if there isn't something left.

Oh, and don't forget for couch pillows! Check under them.

Yeah! Did that a lot in the past. My biggest issue was/is glitter! Which is not a problem around Christmas but every other day it is. Even now I can get up to 10 hours a day to dress (10 pm to 8am) but she is home so I can?t run the vacuum and have to sweep and pick up tiny specks by hand. Fun!

I feel I?m in pretty good shape, but I know a small thing can mess things up. Santa?s got nothing on me, he only checks twice!!

But I?ve been fooled before.

My wife knows so I don't worry, but press on nails are always the thing I find later on.

Fortunately I don?t think anything I wore had glitter. But doing one last sweep before I head to the airport. Fingers crossed. Of course I still sporting painted toe nails and can?t bring myself to take it off yet. First pedicure!! Living life on the edge!

Now you've got ME confused, Traci? Your wife knows u dress but you're running around like a chicken with it's head cut off so she won't find out you've dressed?:doh:

It sounds to me like you'd be better off LETTING her find something so she'll get used to it!:battingeyelashes:

So true! I have this sheer black baby doll nightie that has large round almost sequins but the are more like glued on large glitter and every time I sleep in that a bunch fall off on the bed and the floor and in the bathroom! I get up most of them but sometimes during the day the sunshine hits just right and it is like sparkle city! Lol.

Oh Doc, if only life were that simple.

This is why I only get changed in one room.

I use the ABC rule. Always Be Careful. Don?t bring out any more than you need or want to wear and count when it is time to put it away.

As previously mentioned, never glitter! Not clothing, make up, or nail polish. Glitter can never be completely removed.

Don’t forget stray hairs from your wig.

Traci, you could become your own maid and really clean the house from top to bottom. But then you would have a whole other outfit to worry about. Good Luck.

I tend to clean and organize as I go because I have a rule of undoing immediately when wife awakes.
One time she handed me a cone from a bullet bra that she found in the dryer and I just said, "Oh, thanks." and made nothing of it.
Funny, to this day I can only find one rigid cup insert for that bullet bra.

Not caught directly, but way too close. I saw that I had left a panty liner wrapper on the countertop in my bathroom just before SO went in there. I later switched to her brand (I do buy my own) so the wrappers would match.

I have posted what is below a couple times. I left out the fact that I was going to work early the next morning for 24 hours. Even if my wife hadn’t noticed it that night I would have been a nervous wreck the whole next day wondering when she would have seen it.

Glitter almost gave me away last week. I had laid down on the bed for a little while in a dress I was wearing for the first time. I put everything away and did my normal check to make sure nothing had been left out. Later in the even when I went upstairs the comforter and pillow were sparkling from the small glitter flakes that had come off. By this time my wife was home and I was trying to figure out how to remove it without making a lot of noise. Fortunately a lint roller was available and worked.

It was also interesting that evening that my wife had called me to say they were sending her home from work early and that she was leaving then and didn't want to surprise me. Not sure what she thought I would be doing and why she had to warn me.

This all tells me that I should avoid clothes either glitter and maybe sequins. You know my wife has sometimes called saying she is on her way as well, but not consistently. I wondered too if it?s her early warning system at play. I think she is always suspect that I will fall prey to my pretty clothes.

My wife once bought a tiny dress with sequins. I loved it, she said she did but never wore it. It was kept in my closet in another room. I wasn't allowed to wear it, even though I knew she never would. So once in a while, I did. One day afterwards she found a sequin on the couch, she asked, I of course had no idea where it came from. Another time I found a sequin stuck to my shoulder which luckily she hadn't yet noticed. The dress eventually became mine, but I'm very careful after wearing it to self-check for random sequins, it might be hard to explain to a friend if I miss one.

Never had anything with glitter though, I imagine that's 10 times worse.

Busted twice on the left-out clothing: Once a bra and another time a panty. My wife found them, folded them and placed them on top of the dryer which is behind closed doors. Another time I forgot to get rid of my pseudo breasts in the kitchen sink, i.e., two white water balloons. "What' that she asked?" Duh, that was embarrassing. I will not say I am a neatnik, but I tended to hang my dresses and full slips in one location and not toss things around. One thing that can be a tell-tale sign is the lingering odor of make and perfume. Maybe, one should grill some hot dogs and warm up a helping of sauerkraut to mask the smells?

Stephanie, luckily I did not get busted this last time I had for myself. At least not that I know of. The lingering smell thing did cause me some concern. One night I did spritz on some perfume around my neck. Loved it. I even laid down on the bed for a bit. Then I realized I had gotten some scent on the pillow. Yikes. Was already planning on doing the bedding which I usually do anyways. Well I had two days left, so after washing it off me, I just smelled for any scent in the next couple of days. It faded away just fine. Reminds me, time to change out the bedding though.

Yea sauerkraut and grilled hot dogs. Got to keep that in mind!
