Wife opened MY Package - She was in a good Mood so it wasn't too bad

For many years now my Wife and I have been in a DADT relationship and really haven't had a conversation about my crossdressing for over a Year. Well This morning we had a very interesting incident happen that I am still trying to digest. While I was on a 2 hour bike ride my wife mistakenly opened a package from Macys that was for me and not for her. I was not expecting the package till Sunday and she was expecting her golf shirts to come yesterday ! Anyway here is my best recollection of how things went down. She clearly had had time to think about the floral dress and what she was going to say.

As soon as I walked in the door I heard her call me in a kind of funny voice - Honey come back to the bed room I have a surprise for you ! As soon as I reached the bedroom she was there holding the dress up on a hanger and I was stunned- " Oh honey isn't this dress just so purdy ! Its perfect for a ladies tea ! but I never go to teas or where frilly dresses so I was reliveid when I saw the dress was in your size Haha ! Oh you are going to look adorable in it ! LOL I'm sorry I thought the package was my golf shirts, lol but instead its your dress and also two packages of Hanes Silky Pantyhose ! LOLO a dream come true for a girly girl ! So what do you have to say miss Prissy ? Please tell me the dress was on sale because its way out of style ? "

Well I finally got my witts about me and told her the dress was on clearance and that I had not bought one for awhile ! Well she just shook her head and laughed ! and said something to the affect of - "Life has really changed since the 50s, I am heading out to play golf with the girls and I am sure you will be walzing about in your new dress and pantyhose ! Well since you want to dress like a 50s housewife you can clean the house wifey ! When I get back the house better be dusted and vacuumed and the laundry done and folded ! I may come back with some of the Girls so if you want to show of your pretty dress, I bet they would get a great laugh ! "

So she will not be back for several hours from Golf so I am still trying to figure out what the conversation will be. She was clearly in a good mood and seemed to enjoy the power she had at that moment so who knows !

I love being attired with a 1950's-1960's look a la June Cleaver of Leave It To Beaver! You better have your chores done by the time your wife gets home. My wife always tells me that I forgot to clean the bathrooms.

Some time ago I decided I was no longer going to hide anything from my wife of 48 years. When I get a package of girly stuff, I almost always open it in front of her and show her everything in it. No, this isn’t for everyone, but it works for us.

Well, seems DADT has ended. I suggest you get to the housework as requested. And be your prettiest when wife and friends show up. Perhaps her friends will be more supportive than wife expects. Won't that be a hoot!

Well this could be the beginning of your housewife dream as your wife has obviously taken it very well and almost instructed you to start on the housework whilst she goes out with her friends.

As for not being her style my wife often buys me things she would never wear herself it amuses her making me look so feminine.

Wow Robbie, your post really caught my attention. First, bring in a somewhat DADT situation with my wife hating the whole CD thing, I read your story with interest. Second, no this has really not happened to me. I do fear my wife opening a package of mine or even questioning what I have arriving. I try to an avoid those situations as much as possible. Amazon locker or store pickup to the rescue mostly for me.

It sort of sounds like your wife has somewhat accepted the situation to me. I?m trying to think how I would feel under those circumstances. Of course some of it may depend on the nuances of the comments and inflection that are unknown to us. I think I would be excited at the prospect of some limited acceptance. I think I would like my wife chiding me about how I would look in a dress I bought. Mine is usually so negative. Depends on her intent of course. I guess I would be hoping for the best at this point.

I think all of us DADT people will be super curious to hear what happens upon your wife?s return, and in the following days. I?m hopeful it goes in a direction you want. Hell, for me I clean and do wash so much now, getting to be able to dress during such would be a wonderful trade off.

I think this is a great opportunity for you! Your wife has encouraged you to dress and challenged you to do so openly, even if only joking. I suggest you do exactly what she suggested, make yourself a pretty as possible, clean the house, do the laundry, and be dressed and waiting for her (and her friends if they join her). Go for it, you'll be glad you did!

Robbie, while she didn't yell at you, I don't take the passive aggressive statements, such as "LOLO a dream come true for a girly girl !" as supportive.

Aside being ready for her to get back with her friends, I would just do as she told. maybe you hit a sweet spot.

Yes I have been working and cleaning, but not in my new dress ! Just to be clear I am not at all ready to have her gal pals see me in feminine attire. I also think that what my wife was saying, is I better not be in a dress or there will be consequences that I will have brought it on myself. I am not sure my wife knows what she wants but certainly today she wanted to have a little fun and clearly let me know that if am going to wear dresses she is going to have some fun with it ! She has never called me Miss prissy or wify ! Oh what I forgot to mention was she also took note of how Girly the dress was and that it was a fit and flare dress and that she bet I would be twirling a lot in it just like a little girl would !

Start cleaning like crazy. Sounds like a ticket to dress more often with her. :)

So Robbie, did you at least try it on while your wife was out? Did you do as she mentioned, twirling a lot. Had that been me, I might not have thought of such, but with her comments, that would certainly then crossed my mind.

Seems to me your wife is having some fun with you, and hopefully in a light hearted way. Myself being the eternal optimist, I would like to think she is lightening up a bit with your crossdressing. I pray that my wife is headed in that same direction as well.

It was passive aggressive and the comment about her girlfriends getting a laugh at your expense was a little cruel.
But there again I don't know you or your wife or the tone the remarks were made in.
I hope it works for you both.

Let's hope she plays a good round of golf, there's no better mood changer than having a bad golf day. I don't think it's a older style dress I see that dress a lot and I love that pattern. I don't know you and your wife and don't know if she was being sarcastic or just trying to be excepting. But if it was me I would take her advice and wipe on that dress and pantyhose and spin around the house all day. Have fun

I can?t wait to hear what happened when she returned. Did her mood change? Did she make any further comments and in which direction. For me, life really changed for the better when my wife could make a little sarcastic comment about what I was wearing.

Full DADT here which includes IDWTSI so I can only compare with my own situation. Although I try to intercept expectant packages we read labels and respectfully don't open each others stuff.
And there's never an ask about contents. But, had I been in your situation, I believe it's a good opening to a bit of tolerance and opportunity that's not just sneaking around. The little snarky comments are just what married couples do.
Maybe with your more satisfied demeanor and a clean house you can start helping her wean off that terrible golf habit.

So I woke up this morning and I remembered that Robbie had this happen to her yesterday. Damn, this situation and its outcome were kind of stuck in my mind. While our spouses are all different, sometimes we can glean a bit of insight from what happens to others. I really want to know what happened to Robbie upon her spouses return from golf. Seems like I?ve seen a few similar situations on here go either way. Curious minds are hopeful and waiting.

First of all Oh yes LOL I put on the dress and twirled and swished about ! Oh and of course I was wearing a lacy full slip ! I changed Into a an older dress and did the house cleaning ! I even folded laundry including her panties and bras which are not close to being as feminine as mine.

I knew she would be having a few drinks after golf and usually she is in good spirits when she gets home. My Plan was to just say as little as possible and see how things went ! Well she came in and I could tell she had definitely had a few, she said "oh look my husband is back, well I hope you enjoyed your time miss prissy and look you even folded my bras and panties hehe, I bet you enjoyed that ! She then giggled and asked if I was still wearing panty hose ? I told her no ! She then proceeded to tell me she was headed for a long shower. When she finally came out nothing more was said, so I really don't know what is going on in her head ! So far this morning all is quiet !
