Foam forms and TSA

I'm going to be traveling next month and was thinking of wearing a skirt and my forms. The only issue is, on the return trip, I'll have my grand kids with me and my forms will be in my carry on instead of on me. I've heard stories where there was no issues and others that have been pulled aside. I'm worried about being pulled aside and the kids seeing my forms.

In another post I saw someone mention foam forms. I prefer silicon because I like the weight and bounce, but that post got me thinking. How do foam forms appear on the scanner? Are they less likely to be flagged? Do any of you ladies have any experience going through security with foam forms?

I've only gone through airport security either wearing my silicon forms, or packing them in my checked bag. So nothing to help you there.

I DO WANT TO INFORM the community that TSA has removed every transgender policy, and further, has removed every single mention of transgender from their website. Previously the TSA website contained very favorable policies and statements assuring that we'd be treated with respect and discretion. ALL OF THAT IS GONE NOW.

I fear we are on the verge of a regression in our treatment by those in authority as we travel.

That was probably me my friend, and yes, the silicone will show on the scanner, definitely here in AUS.

I'd really recommend forms like this, I wear a C 24/7 and obviously have a few. You can just pop them in the wash as well

Yes, it was your post that planted the seed for trying foam, at least for this trip. Like I said, I like the feel of silicon, but the foam may be the best option for this trip because of the grandkids.

Could you check a small suitcase with the forms?
Depending on the airline, there might be a luggage fee of course.

Thank you for sharing that information! I was more or less expecting something like that to happen but had not investigated so I did not know they made these changes. I would say that if all they did was removing the positive assurance of equal treatment, and they did not add any specific rules about Trans or CD persons NOT being acceptable, then it is not too bad and more of a CMA exercise from the TSA's side.
However, I would not be surprised if there was pressure to change this at some point!

As a point of reference, I traveled in full girl mode, hair, makeup, silicone forms, dress, heels and everything 3 weeks ago without any problems. 100% female presentation and using my male drivers license as ID.
I have TSA Pre-Check so did not go through the body scanner, just the metal detector, which btw, I set off because of too much metal in my 4" high heel sandals! Not a problem, just took off the shoes and walked through again.

To Stephanie's original question, some month ago I traveled with a change of girl clothes in my carry on, including silicone forms. My bag _did_ get pulled for manual inspection, but that was because I had by mistake forgotten a pocket knife in a pouch. The breast forms were right there in a clear plastic bag, but the TSA inspector did not pay any attention to them at all.

The nature of this trip makes it difficult to check a bag. I fly out in the morning, my son brings them to the airport and we fly back. I don't need to dress, but just thought it would be fun. Especially since I imaging a skirt will be more comfortable than pants.

I have TSA precheck too, but I have to go through the scanner because I have a spinal cord stimulator in my back. I'm not too worried about that though. I'll be by myself when I'm wearing them and don't care if I get pulled aside then. I just don't want them pulled out of my bag on the way back while I'm in drab. I guess if I'm too worried I can forgo the forms and just wear the skirt, but I do enjoy wearing them whenever I can

Totally understand about the check-in luggage.
If it was me, I would just leave the forms at home for a short trip like that and focus on the grand kids, they would be my primary focus and priority for sure.
If you are desperate, maybe you could consider the old water balloon option, and just throw them away for the return.

In early May, I had my luggage pulled aside as my silicone forms showed up on the scanner. The TSA agent had the suitcase to the side and opened it up. Nobody could see anything other than the clothes I had covering the forms. The agent gently lifted the clothing just enough that he could see they were forms. Nobody else, including me, could actually see the forms. On the scanner, they showed up as a brown circle. On my return flight, my bag was NOT flagged and it went thru without incident. I'm of the opinion that even if your bag is flagged, TSA will only do what they need to do to identify what the objects are. They won't pull them out to broadcast what they are.

You'll have no issues with foam forms!:thumbsup:

Stephanie, it would seem to me that foam forms would show up like packaging, not an issue. Whereas, silicone is going to show up as a liquid, which is an issue. You should be fine.
