Resuming HRT!
Had a good appointment with my endo in Kernersville, NC on Tuesday. I relayed the message from my cardiologist that he saw no problem with restarting HRT. (I WILL get yearly EKGs, though!). She sent in prescriptions for estradiol and oral progesterone. We switched to oral progesterone after I voiced a concern about injecting medroxyprogesterone. I inject the estradiol as that seems to work better for me and my insurance is ok with it.
I’m so glad!

Charla, congratulations on being able to resume your HRT. May that regimen continue w/o any cardio contraindications.
Good to know there is a TG-friendly Endocrinologist in Kernersville.
Live life to the fullest.

Hi Charla,
That sounds great! Especially having insurance cover injectables!
Good luck!
Marion.

Hi Maid_Marion,
My insurance is Medicare and AARP for the supplemental part. It is nice that insurance covers it! Medicare considers estradiol pills to be a high risk medication, but injectable EV was acceptable. 5 ml of estradiol valerate costs $5 and at 0.2 mls per injection every 2 weeks, it lasts about 25 weeks.

So happy that you are able to continue on the path you need. Though it is not for me, I still wish you all the best on your journey. Love, Meg

Good luck on becoming the best you.

I'd think that would be a daunting path you're on, but you can do it if your heart is set on it.
Best wishes & hugs Charla.

Hi Charla,
I’m happy that you are resuming. I started and stopped after a month when my blood pressure went up. Currently looking to find an endocrinologist who can better monitor my health numbers.
Wishing you good health,
Amanda

Happy that you've made a decision on HRT. No matter if it is to resume or not, it's a major decision that you've come to and I hope that it fulfills your expectations. Hugs.
