Mirror, Mirror
Hi girls,
When I dress up I love admiring myself in the mirror and taking photos to look back on, but, as a guy I tend to avoid mirrors and photos and don't really care that much about my appearance, just wondering if this is common amongst other girls here or am I an outlier.
Jasmine.

Nope I am the same way. I can?t stand looking in the mirror when I am in male clothes. But once I dress and get in Christina?s mindset I don?t mind looking in the mirror. Even photos. I don?t take many photos of myself when male, but again once I start dressing as Christina my camera roll is ful of photos with her.

I love mirrors when dressed in female mode, since I like to see what I look like, and take pictures because these are rare moments in my life that I want to be able to look back at. I don't hate mirrors either when in male mode, I just don't spend time in front of them other than for practical things, like combing my hair or adjusting clothes.

Yup, same. I always unintentionally smile when I see myself dolled up in a mirror or some reflective surface :)

I don't know about you, but I look way better in mirrors than I do in photos

Same with me. I used to take photos back when I was in the closet and then dadt, this was so when I couldn’t dress I could remind myself of what was possible. Since my wife accepted seeing me dressed, I no longer take photos as there is no need, and I even deleted them all, but I couldn’t do without a mirror!

I just installed a 16 inch wall mirror at chest height in my web surfing room. I ought to install a full length mirror somewhere in the house.

You're not alone. In the early days of my adventure I went all out to feminize myself: full makeup and nails. I wanted to know how I looked and have a record of my attempts. I did take pictures of myself with a camera with a timer and did have the nerve to have them developed at a store. This was in the late 1970's, before digital anything. I thought I looked alright. Of course, with no reference to scale my height was not apparent, and my weight was thirty pounds lighter of now. My facial skin went from smooth to the effects of aging and sun damage. I ditched the nails and makeup as too time consuming to apply and remove, and probably also because of more self acceptance. I am a "dresses only" person. There is a full length mirror in the bathroom that does allow me to gaze upon myself from afar. From afar my height to weight ratio is not all that noticeable and the absence of full makeup and nail color is not really apparent. If I want something that will accentuate some womanhood I will apply lip color which does have a little scent that will waif up my nose and leave lip stains on my coffee mug.
Remember, the eye sees what the mind wants to see. So, take pictures of yourself, whether in female or male mode, and it will represent how you may appear to others. You also have to remember pictures are nothing more than a snapshot in time and do not show movement and mannerisms which may be a tell-all to others, not matter how well the visual is.

Luckily I have a floor to ceiling mirror in one room so I am able to get a good look as to how I appear in public.

I have to admit that Tiffany loves to look at herself in the mirror and takes many photos to save a few that just seem right. My male side will do a quick check in the mirror and head out the door. There are relatively few photos of me and none using a tripod and timer or remote that my Tiffany side invests time and money in.

Thanks for the reply girls.
It's good to know I'm not the only one, just to clarify as a guy, I obviously do use the mirror, but, just to shave and make sure I'm presentable, definitely don't admire myself, but, in girlmode I love looking at myself in the mirror and seeing myself in different outfits.

Not an outlier at all Jasmine! I actively DISLIKE seeing photos of my male self and avoid all pictures if i can, yet as Kris I am fastidious about my appearance, take lots of pics and work with them to get the colors just so and such. I thoroughly enjoy posting the best ones too. Narcissism? I don't think so, just enjoying my feminine side!

Jasmine, good thread with some excellent replies many of which summarize my feelings as well.

There's mirrors and then there's mirrors I guess, Jasmine.:daydreaming:
When I look in mine I know I couldn't pass in the middle of the nite, during a blackout on a moonless nite!
Yet others here post pics asking if they can, or did, pass?:battingeyelashes:
I assume they must not own a mirror or have a different kind that I!?

For me, a mirror provided some great lingerie modeling from the neck down.
