Double checking
Do you ever find yourself second guessing if you removed all your fem items? After a while I believe some things feel like second nature. This morning for the first time I was about to walk into work and remembered I was wearing loop earrings last night and I grabbed my ear lobes to make sure I took them off. A few weeks ago on my way to my mother in laws I checked my face to make sure I removed my makeup. Anyone else ever second check to make sure everything is removed?

I was wearing lipstick in drab when I went through a coffee shop drive trough.
-
Ditto on the lipstick only at a gas station convenience store - counter lady looked a little weird at me and when I checked in the car -- Oops!
I'm better at double checking after that.
-
Yes, earrings bringing donations into goodwill.
-
Maria, Absolutely. I have a terrible time removing eyeliner. There is always residue.
-
I forgot to remove my eye-shadow twice and was seen by one of my daughters and her friend both times. It was during a time I was wearing some really bright eye-shadow colors. She never said a word to me about it.

I wear androgynous women's clothes six plus days a week, so I am checking whether my outfit is too obviously femme, every time I leave the house. Even then, I will find myself double checking whether I changed from dangly earrings to my regular hoops before getting out of the car, or going into a store.
My wife used to teach cosmetology, and I would often pick her up from the school. More than once she got in the car and said "you were wearing lipstick". I thought got it all off, but she could always tell!

I agree that it's something that has occurred (but not happened) to me as well. I try to be careful about removing makeup. Especially around the eyes. Swapping out earrings (I just wear "diamond" studs in guy mode) isn't something I really worry about though.

It always requires an ultimate accuracy to remove the eyeliner. Even having that done thoroughly, my wife can still find something eye-catching and make an investigation...
-
that happens to me like ALL the time!

i do double check fairly regularly but even with that second check, my wife still notices tell-tale makeup residue, often just as we are leaving to go somewhere.
I gave myself pierced ears for my 67th birthday. I started with small black studs, then faux diamonds, then small sterling hoops and now 3/4" sterling hoops as daily wear in drab and otherwise. It's totally natural now and no one seems to really notice. My wife hated the idea before I pierced them but I took it as my own choice and after the fact she's told me she thought they were sexy. Go figure
-
Not really. I live alone, so my only real concern is leaving makeup residue on my pillowcase at night. I am usually fairly meticulous about washing my face before bedtime.
-
One morning i heard a child say "Mummy, why is that man wearing makeup?"
-
I?ve gone as far as leaving the house only to return to hurriedly scan the house for any items left out and about because I couldn?t remember putting them away.
-
While eating dinner at home with my wife, she said "What's that on your neck?" I had forgotten to remove my very thin necklace. Oops!
-
When I'm up at the lake house by myself, I wear my forms, wig and makeup. As far as I know, my wife doesn't know I go full enfemme. I'm not sure how she would react if she were to find those items. When I'm ready to head home, I go through every room of the house to make sure nothing incriminating is left out. I read once that if you say whatever you are doing out loud, it will help you remember you did it, so as I make my rounds in each room, I say "Nothing incriminating here" out loud. So far it has worked.

Couldn't find my silky robe after SIL occupied my space during a visit. Although I cleared out all suggestive items from the space, I evidently thought that one particular item had to be on a hanger inside another generic bathrobe and not secreted away to the playhouse. And, there's still one missing rigid cup from my retro conical bullet bra. I don't know, years of memorization and focus. And there's always the air of confidence like, "I knew I just had that right here!?" Like when you're looking for your glasses.

My wife and I are in a deep "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" so I don't do anything to rub it in. A long time ago she remarked that once I had not done such a great job removing eye shadow. There was still a hint of some. Before she fully retired I had full days of femme time to be a homemaker and do all the domestic chores: baking, meal preparation, laundry, ironing, vacuuming, etc. On different occasions I overlooked a bra, a panty, and one time the worst: two filled water balloons (pseudo breasts) in the kitchen sink. Duh! On the instances of the bra and the panty she folded them and hid them behind the folding doors to the washer and dryer. To the balloons I had to sheepishly pop them.

Stephanie that brings back memories as incriminating was the exact word I use to use when double and triple checking the house for anything left out. Although I used to kind of laugh at myself at the same time for using it as we know this cding is not actually a crime!
-
OMG yes!!!!! I have been wearing makeup and jewelry around the house almost daily. It feels so normal now I have to do a double take before I leave the house or especially if someone stops by unannounced.
-
Absolutely. Among many other things, I enjoy wearing jewelry. Several times, I?ve left dinner rings on. My wife usually checks me for makeup. I really love everything about lipstick, but mostly wear a light pink.

I found one of my gaffs neatly folded on my wife's dresser! It had been a day or two since I had dressed up and I couldn't remember leaving it there or if perhaps she found it somewhere else and left it there for me. Nothing was ever said. Years later we had the talk and she didn't bring that up or any of the other things I may have left out over the years.

I’ve shown up at church wearing lipstick a couple times. Fortunately I was able to remove it before anyone saw me.
