Well, firstly it's not polite to ask a woman's age.
Secondly, as others have said, some are afraid of too much information leading to their being discovered and outed.
Each has a personal reason.
I believe mine is in my profile, but actually I don't like telling my age as even my wife says I look about 48 and that's good enough for me. I certainly don't feel my age.
