My mother told me that. a year before i was born they had a baby..... the girl.... which was died just after her birth.... and my mother had a name for her.... which now i have as my feminine name......

My mom showed me a letter written to her mom when she was pregnant with me... in it she referred to the baby (me) as Kristina Michelle - that was their one and only name picked out... and when I came out male, they had to scramble. I picked Masters as a last name b/c I thought it sounded cool and I could move up in the alphabet from where I am normally... So there you have it, Kristina Michelle Masters... Kristi for short... :)

Same as most i asked my mom/mum what she would have named me, she said Danielle, but i didnt like that name so i chose kim, i really dont know why but i like it better.
I picked Ashley just because I liked the name. Then I found out that Ashley was originally used as a boy's name, but is now mostly used for girls. I thought that was pretty cool.:D
So many lovely names here. Unfortunately I can't put my femme name here. I was known by the name for more than two years in a LOT of different places and forums on the net. I lived the life of a real girl during that time. I had more than just a few people who thought I WAS a girl. The name is very, very unique and would out me instantly. As anything else on the net, a simple search could lead back here. I know for a fact that there are a few potential "suitors" who are still tracking me.
Being femme is not limited to painting my toenails and wearing sexy clothes in my case. My mind needs to embrace it as well.
My very first girlfriend, in Kindergarden, was Kathaleen, she later broke my heart in 7th grade. I had a younger female cousin who I used to play with when her brothers wouldn't, and we were close (not like Jerry Lee Lewis and his cousin), her name was Katherine. I earned the nickname "The Cat" at a very young age due to my ability to see extremely well in the dark, eyes like a cat, and use that at my personal web address ... [email protected]. I have been mulling around hundreds of names for the past 40 years and it finally came to me when I needed to pick one for this site upon signing up last week (Aug 17,'09). It hit me like a ton of bricks... Cat... Kat... Katherine. The 1951 is my year of birth.

My female name is Jenny... Simply because it sounds close to my male name.
I've had several suggestions over the years from various GG grlfriends, but the last name was Danielle and I found that it just really liked it. Lee is my real middle name. :battingeyelashes:
I have dressed since I was 12..... and never picked a name for myself. I haven't had a chance to dress in years and now the desire has come back to me. It is strange to say but after all these years of on again off again dressing Ami seems perfect............

I chose Aurora because the sensation it gives me. As a TG woman I would love to get the best of me, the light, the spark. I still do not accomplish it but I am working on it.
I had suggested to my wife, who wants no part of my crossdressing, that we should go to her coworkers Halloween party as a ganster and a "moll." The moll is the female counterpart the gangster of the old 20's era. Of course I was going to me the moll and she would be the gangster. Well, she did not like that idea at all! I was so captured by the "moll" idea that I decided to use it as my name. Hence, Molly! I would still love to do that outfit and maybe one day I will get a flapper dress and do a photo shoot!

The name Lucy just really popped in there without me needing to think about it much. Although I've not got everything ready to dress completely yet, it really felt right. I kept seeing the name everywhere too...
I wasn't thinking it at the time, but I did know a girl while I was at university called Lucy who affected me quite a bit. She had the loveliest curly red hair, and was amazingly cute all round. You could have put wings on her and she'd have made a great fairy! :daydreaming: But sadly, very much spoken for too. She was quite strange in a few ways but I enjoyed her company a great deal. Then after a little while she just seemed to vanish into thin air and I never saw her again. :sad: Definitely an unconcious influence I think.

Since I'm so scared to reveal the 'real me', I was delighted when I first came across Second Life.
It allowed me in an albeit virtual world, to design my looks, figure, hair and clothing, an interact with others should I wish. (sounds a bit sad I know!)
When starting you are presented with a range of surnames, having chose Luna, I thought I'd be clever and find something that went with the Moon (Luna), therefore came Misty.
Recently I have tired of the name - It was one thing in a virtual world - bit a bit odd in the real world.
I'd like to change my name to something a bit more usual, but am not sure where to start.
I don't have a fem name at his time but I have enjoyed reading all the stories. The stories will hopefully inspire me.

My femme name is my legal given name: Kimberley.
En homme I tend to go by Kim, and en femme I will use either Kim or Kimberley. So, at least for my femme life, Kimberley was a fortunate name. I did pick my middle and last names though. Anne because I like its meaning, and it's a little like my given middle name. Then my last name, well, it's not mine directly... ;-)
Kimberley has been interesting as a homme name; it's given me some grief... though it did get me invited to sorority rush (ah, if I was only brave enough to go! ;-).
It's a little bit of checken and egg on what affect my name has had on my life and crossdressing (what effects it's had). It doesn't matter; I am who I am. A (wo)man named Kimberley. :)
Regarding Misty's post above (that I apparently failed to quote ;-)
First of all, I think Misty is a fine name. It's pretty, and very unique now (it was almost the top name back in the 20's and 30's).
As for second life (2L), I do get 2L's lure. A chance to be online in body perhaps different from how you are in first life (1L) or how you want to be. Not to mention people interacting w/you, most likely, as your preferred gender. It's a way to express oneself. I've dabbled a bit with it, and really enjoyed the free shopping on Noob island. :)

I have always loved Anne my second name, and I added my third name Alynne as the fem form of Alan the name I went by for 72 years,then changed my last name from Neel to Nelson because I liked the sound of two syllables after Lainie better than one.
Imagine my surprise when I googled Lainie Nelson and found two famous singers and actresses.
I had created my email before I transitioned for a screen name I had, and had changed the spelling on my old email from Alan to Alynne months before because I liked it better. Now I know why.
This girl was quite crafty in her breakout over the years. I actually practiced being an 18 yr 0ld female online 5 months before my transition. She is still "alive" and adored by many male and female admirers. I think that she really helped me have the courage to go ahead and become my true self.

Well the name is a feminine take on my real name though I really don't like it. I've toyed with several other names like Sindy, Cathy, Kathrine, Cindy, Flaeme (online game name I often use), Sabazia (another game name), Ejji, and Nissi.
Nothing really has 'stuck', though Cindy seems close. Maybe I'll ask the wife to help me pick one, dunno. I've read that its a good idea to pick a feminine name for psychological reasons though I don't know exactly why that is.

The first part of my name is, somewhat predictably perhaps, a derivation of my male name to which I have added my partner's surname. I'm thinking of changing it soon though!
Well, "Alice in the Wonderland" and thus when I am crossdressing either physically or mentally, I am in Wonderland. On the other hand, my middle name is Alex (closed to Alice). Alex used to be boy's name. Somehow, there are more and more GGs are in this name. Hey, that is good trend.:)
For the longest time I always thought of my female side as Michelle, but during that time she was my little secret. When I came out to my wife and found her accepting of this side of me, I seemed to feel different and Michelle no longer fit, but I just went with Michelle for a while longer. About 2 years ago while playing WoW, I started a female toon and named her Gwendolyn. I liked the name and started to identify with it, and then just shortened it to Gwen.
My mom would've named me Tanya if i were born a girl.. Rebekah is the name of my best friend.. (borrowed it from her -- of course, she doesn't know. LOLz) Mwaaah ~
I picked kerry because its close to my boy name kenny and i think its cute to boot, Larami just sounded nice as a last name.
Rebecca Jayne is a name I have had since i was a teenager. I have always loved Rebecca ever since I was old enough to remember and Jayne just feels right and I like the way I spell it.

I've been going by Sara in my own head since I was maybe 5-6 years old. Picked it becuase it seemed cute and fun and I didn't know any other Saras at the time.

When I first started looking around the internet I needed a name. I liked Mandy but I found that Mandy was used by quite a few girls in NZ so I extended to Amanda and it stuck. In NZ there are only two including me that I have come across. I need a surname to go with it now. Any ideas?
My female name situation is a bit different. I have an androgynous name already (no, it's not really Lana). It's a name I like and is me. However, my last name not only doesn't fit with my first name, it came from a creepy stepfather who never cared about me.
So my female name simply reverts my family name back to my mother's maiden name.
It took me a while to settle on Ivy. I'm still not sure if it's permanent, I think it sounds too showy still, like a stripper name or something and I DO NOT want my name to sound like that.
