If you have to tell them, probably early 20's is the best. They're out of school, which unfortunately would be a hotbed of ridicule for them if they shared the information with anyone. Early 20's they're usually on their own, and amongst more mature people who can handle and accept the truth, and keep it to themselves if that is what you agree upon.

24 hours in and still great. Overwhelmed by the amount of support from you all. It really re-enforces what a great network we have.
Some affirmation that cooking skills seem high amongst us - although not all.
I haven't dressed yet in front of them but have reconfirmed that they won't have a problem. I've waited all these years so thought I could wait a few days without seeming too eager. This coming weekend is looking to be busy for Tina so we'll see how it goes. I'll keep you all update with their reactions.
Thanks heaps, again.

Hi Tina,
Your kids soud great -- how wonderful. So now Tina's Kitchen will be busy?
Take care,

Wow
I just looked at your photo album after reading this thread. I'll bet your children will love to see how beautiful a woman their dad can become. I'd cook them dinner dressed if I were in your shoes..... Have fun with it.

That's awesome Tina glad it worked out so well for you.I on the other hand just can't bring myself to do that. I just don't know how they handle it. I just think it would not be all that good and I wish not to find out.Now you go girl.:hugs:

Great lesson and reinforcement Tina. So many here are afraid of what they believe in their minds will happen. You know your children better than anyone else. So my thought is the people who don't know how their children will react, really don't know their children. Did they raise them to be cynical, narrow minded, bigoted people? Did they, when confronted with someone with a different point of view or look whisper "stay away from them, we don't want you to get whatever they have."? or did you tell your children, 'they just have a different lifestyle or outlook on life. Isn't that interesting to you?"
Steven Stills wrote "Teach your children well." Wouldn't the world be a better place if we didn't reinforce stereotypes and prejudices?

Daughter and me
If any of you have read my comments, you know I have a very unaccepting and unknowing SO. A number of months ago our older daughter came to live with us. At some point she saw, by accident, me in panties, bra and nylons. I was getting dresed for work (I under-dress) and the door to the bedrroom was open. She had said something from the other room and I replied that I didn't hear her and to speak up. She walked in to tell me again and there I was.
She was not only cool with it but wanted us to dress together, do makeup together and go out together. We did all the above at one time or another. The other day she said she didn't have clean panties to wear and could she borrow a pair of mine for the day till she did wash. Well, it all goes well with her but her brothers are a different matter. The younger son MIGHT be able to work with it but the older son as a lot of preconceived ideas about men and me in particular. I'm not looking forward to that discussion or the one that will come between my wife and me.

Still going well
I have been out several times now as Tina with kids seeing me each time. All is well. They have both asked if they can come and join in the upcoming Pride March and also attend Midsumma Festival with Tina later this month.
This really is better than I could have imagined in my wildest dreams. I also Skyped my sister last week and my nephew walked in her room and saw Tina on the screen. He didn't have a problem either and said its up to me to do what I want.
Seems like I have a very well accepting and adjusted family.
Its great that I can have all my wigs on display, have my make-up laid out, etc.. Bought some flat shoes today after trying them on in boy mode - ready for the Pride March - heard too many stories of aching feet on the march!! Love being Tina.

Tina It is like a million tons coming off the shoulders. At least it was for me. My wife and I told our thirteen yr. old this past summer. He did great with the whole thing. Anyhow Congratulations and may Tina come out whenever she pleases.:D

I'm pretty sure my son knows I crossdress. He and his cousin used to go through my closet when they were in jr high school (looking and finding my porn vcrs). I don't know how they could have missed my clothes and "stuff". I've never openly mentioned it to them though nor they to me.
I can cook pretty well. If my wife would just let me dress enfem when I do so I would be so happy.
Bon Appetite!
