Agree. I said to my friends today when I came back that the kick I get out of being dressed in women's clothing is unbelievable, makes me feel like a completely different person to that boring guy I normally am. I couldn't wait to get my male clobber off and slip on my red mini skirt and white sleeveless top today :)Quote:

Yes I do have different feelings and emotions when dressed and enjoy every second when in Requal mode.
I just love dressing their is so much variety in women's clothes along the way they feel and is nothing like going shopping for a new dress I have not bought men's clothes a long time. And lingerie feels so good on it just feels right to wear women's clothes. Like this morning my girlfriend says to me what are you going to wear today so when for leggings boots and a tunic but if was going to dress in men's clothes it would be shorts and T-shirt not much variety.
It is difficult to compare, because there is an added element to wearing "a different gender's clothing". Women have been wearing panties, skirts, and dresses since they were little girls.

Buying men's clothing can be something that has to be a slow process, depending on what you are buying, such as clothes for work, or for formal occasions. In the case of shopping for women's clothing, I find that every article of clothing has to be well thought out, because I want to look beautiful.

I feel empowered, more confident, more friendly, talkative. Whatever is the opposite me, in drab, that's me dressed. The process is the most exhilarating. Its a feeling that's almost undescribable. I do it and I love it! :daydreaming::battingeyelashes:
I really enjoyed this thread. I think my favorite part of dressing is the entire transformation process. I start with a shower where I shave my body. I follow this up with a lotion. I always enjoy choosing my bra and panties. I never know which will strike my fancy.
Next I do my make up and take what ever time I need to get it to my liking. Next I'll go to my closet and put together an outfit. Next is the jewelry and finally my wig, barrettes and shoes.
Seeing myself transform before my eyes from an ordinary guy to a pretty girl is the most amazing feeling I could ever ask for.
I can remember being clothes conscious back to junior high school (65 now). If I liked how I looked, it was a positive thing. This feeling also extends to crossdressing and shows no signs of wearing off.
For women, I can see it going in two ways.
One is related to the concept of "Familiarity Breeds Contempt". This phrase puts it a bit strongly perhaps, but the intent is that a high degree of familiarity takes a lot of the potential attraction away. Most women usually dress as women most of the time and are staring at the same issues when preparing to leave the house for whatever reason: what to wear, what colors to coordinate, what's appropriate to the occasion, working around whatever body flaws are present, etc. SSDD. It could be seen as fighting the same issues all the time and perhaps it gets a bit stale.
The second situation would be for women who, given their set of circumstances, really don't have much reason to dress beyond sweatpants and t-shirts. Not that they wouldn't like to, but the right situation and purpose just don't occur.
I think in both situations people can lose the connection with the idea dressing to please your self and being able to draw positive feelings from it. Given that crossdressing is a relatively new experience for many of us, I think it would take a while before the New wears off...

Your post was short, but enjoyable. It also is how I approach cross-dressing. I wear panties almost all the time, so I start with picking out one or two for the day. I usually try to find ones that will feel nice to wear, something a bit light so I can really feel the flow of my other clothing. I also try to choose panties that will make me feel sexy, although that can change a lot depending on the mood. Sometimes they are blue or tan things I ordered from JC Penney that have frilly lace along the top of the ... other times, it's a sort of skimpy Hanes, or a cotton FTL, it really simply depends on what my self is saying is sexy today.
Then we move to the bra. Since I don't have forms, I generally go for the bra that is a 38C, and one that has a bit of padding built in, so that the breast curve stands out a bit more than if I use one of the ones that has no padding (although there are times ...) With this in mind, the clothing that I wear for my top has to compliment my breasts. My newest black dress (in my profile pic) does that nicely, as do all of my T Shirts. I usually tuck my shirts into my skirt when I wear them, and the effect is that my breasts are accentuated a bit. It is a very nice womanly look.
I have a couple dresses that are one-piece clothes. I like a couple of them, but other tend to be too billowy or make my stomach look too big, so I kinda avoid using them. Depending on how the wardrobe goes over this summer, I may donate the offenders to Goodwill. However, I also have some skirts that I love to wear. I absolutely adore full-length skirts that go down to just above the ankle. There is just something about watching them as I walk. My issue is finding skirts that are not black.
I have three wigs that I can use in general, although the one I used in my first profile pic really needs to be worked on. It's too wild and all over the place. I make sure to use anti-perspirant, and I put on a touch of "Love" perfume. Currently I am looking into jewelry and other perfumes, and I don't do heels, because if I ever have an accident in them, it becomes a diabetic issue. :)
But I am SO loving to hear how you all prepare yourselves for going out. There are actually some good ideas that I am picking out to help in my own presentation, so thanks much!

But isn't that the whole point of crossdressing? The pleasure and excitement of dressing up and the feelings you have when you're dressed. Isn't that what draws you back again and again? Otherwise, why bother?
I'm quite sure many GGs enjoy dressing up for special occasions. But of course, on a daily basis it's all hum drum and dull. I underdress most of the time now but I also look forward to the times when I can put on my pretty clothes and make up. So for me it's not just the wearing of the clothes, it's the whole process of transforming myself from a rather dull man into the person I should be all the time.
As others have said, that's what it's all about.
We experience a different pleasure to GG's.
There is not really a fair comparison to put on it.
I love the transformation as with some here I start with shower shaving lotion makeup finding the right bra panty set than the boobs wig jewelry and finally a sexy pair of heels with lace top stay ups. All this is a huge turn on that has never diminshed over time. Possibly since I do this only twice a week or so keeps the sensation going.
