Just how and why is this TG thing having such an impact?

The Romans called it Panem et Circenses "Bread and Circuses." It's not a plot by the powers that be. It is the natural outgrowth of totalitarian democracy (or the illusion of it.) Pretty soon we'll be quibbling over trivial matters like how large a drink someone can buy at a fast food restaurant. Oops...never mind! It creates the delusion that your vote matters (Hint: it doesn't, do the math.) In a free society the property owner would decide who gets to use their bathroom. That means some would discriminate against the "T"s and some wouldn't. But in a totalitarian democracy we can't tolerate anybody anywhere doing something we disapprove. That sword cuts both ways...eventually.

I've noticed this in most of the crossdressers forums that I've participated in. A fairly high level of intelligence. All of the responses are well thought out. In detail. We investigate, we read up on the subject that's near and dear to our hearts.

I've read and participated in many polls and surveys, I'll bet all of you have, also. I read the NTDS report. One curious point jumped at me-61% of crossdressers surveyed own their own home. Just that fact says to me, "We're smart and hard working".

One survey I have yet to find, is how intelligent is your average crossdresser? If looks are a sign of being smart, then I'd say just about all of us are pretty knowledgeable. Has anyone found a survey like that?

The media is not so much distracting people. All of the msm stands to make money. Yes, some lean one way or another, and they have their core followers, but they do what they do because it makes $$$. If no one cared about TG issues, people would change the channel, or surf another site. The msm would loose money, and would move on to something else that would make them money.

The politicians on the other hand are to an extent using this as a tool for distraction, but not altogether for that either. What they are also using it for is to keep their core followers/voters interested and motivated to vote. For those who disagree with LGBT rights, or those who agree with them, politicians USE the issue even though in reality it hardly is an issue to get people to vote.

I think you make a good point, perhaps we have extra brain cells to deal with the femme side. Possibly it's something to do with having to be one step ahead of most people, being inventive with the hiding game. Could be most of us would be good secret agents !

Every time I see that expression I think of the sheriff in " Live and Let Die " . " A secret agent !! On whose side ? "
